In my own experience (and I live close to the border and have had conversations with many Americans), it appears most people just over the border know essentially nothing about Canada. They haven't driven a couple of hours or less to visit a Canadian province as tourists. They are very insular and have little or no interest in what happens 'up north', nor do they know anything about Canadian politics or the parliamentary system. They may be familiar with Bryan Adams or Ryan Reynolds. So I do find it fascinating that Americans seeing this 9-minute video suddenly have so much love for a Canadian Conservative politician. And you're even telling us we need him, lol. I'm now convinced that Poilievre should have emigrated to the US years ago to join the GOP.
We know Justin Trudeau needs to get real; we also know we don't need a mini-Trump in Ottawa. Whether you realize it or not, Canada is better than that.

When there is ZERO factual evidence or comparison to anything of the likes! They simply look pathetic and scared shitless .

He is making a lot of sense, and the solutions are easy and simple to apply, but when you try to apply the solution, a lot of organizations with a lot power start to block you from acting, because they are afraid of losing that money and power. I believe that most people that go into politics have a good heart, and looking to really help solve the problems, but then they encounter lobbyists, and powerful people that put their good intentions down.

    • @uncleswell
      @uncleswell 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

An as American, here's some free education:
This guy is not speaking common sense. He's saying what people want to hear, trusting that they dont know enough to know whether it makes sense or not. I.e. pandering to his base. Precisely like Trump.
What politician is out there saying "we're goung to keep inflation high, lower wages, raise taxes, etc"..
None. This guy is no different.
He's a populist appealing to what people want to hear.
What SHOULD be common sense is that much of what he mentioned here like increasing infrastructure spending and lowering taxes leads to higher inflation.. The inflation that exists now is global, and was necessary to keep our economies from collapsing. By the way, controlling inflation and issuing money is the responsibility of the Bank of Canada (like Canada's federal reserve). Not the prime minister.
And the amount he'd have to cap spending at to have a dent on inflation during his term while implementing those other policies would be unreasonable. I wish the reporter had pushed him for figures instead of vague responses, cause he would've crumbled.
Running a country with what people consider "common sense" rather than actual knowledge of how the economy works would have a significantly detrimental effect on its economy.

I’m not familiar with how Canada’s system of government works but it doesn’t sound all that dissimilar from ours. It’s no accident that we are facing almost identical challenges that they are. People here are struggling to get ahead in life just like they are there. Why is it that people who used to be on the “left” like Joe Rogan have come out and basically endorsed him multiple times? @@Guitarisforgrins I don't think anyone likes "corporate control" of the news, as you put it. But when the government finances your operation, like the Federal gvt finances the CBC to the tune of 1 billion+ dollars a year, it is not unreasonable to think that said news organization won't "challenge" Trudeau and his choices too much for fear of losing their funding. Removing their funding means they probably would be much more inclined to go for real stories and ask more pointed questions rather than the softball questions Trudeau and the Liberals normally get from the CBC. Also, while your reply is facile and only surface level (sadly, please do better) it is also true that having "corporate control of news" does open a different can of worms. If only the CBC would have remained a news organization over the years instead of playing partisanship, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Immigration is for the people of the country and the needs of the country! It is not for the immigrant! 500,000 is unacceptable for Canada, now we are talking 1 million a year? The Canadian Liberal government has lost track of I million immigrants? What? This push for mass immigration by the Liberal government was recommended to them by McKinsey consulting!!! A member of the WEF! So you know these numbers are not to help Canada but to destroy it! Just like the illegal mass immigration in the United States! All planned!!! This needs to stop. Canadians and Immigrants are saying NO, to the mass immigration as planned by the Liberal government! Title: Kudos to Pierre: Standing Up Against Mislabelling and Championing Common Sense
Good job, Pierre! You've exemplified remarkable resilience by not allowing "talking point media labels" to define you without demanding clarity or justification. Today, it's distressingly prevalent for people to casually apply labels, often without a deep understanding of their significance or implications.
When you're judged or labelled publicly, asserting your right to demand evidence for such claims isn't just a display of your confidence but also a testament to your integrity. You're leading by example, teaching others the crucial lesson of holding individuals verbally accountable. This is especially pivotal in today's age where misleading tags and judgments can spread like wildfire.
Furthermore, your emphasis on the principle of "common sense" deserves applause. As years have gone by, many seem to have drifted away from foundational reasoning and logic. It becomes alarming when people can't even discern the erosion in their own ability to make "sense", reason effectively, or employ "common sense". The need of the hour is for people to be more analytical, inquisitive, and skeptical of the information they are bombarded with.
Additionally, we'd like to shine a spotlight on a crucial distinction that often gets blurred - the one between non-professionals and professionals. The digital renaissance has made information sharing a breeze, but this boon is not without its pitfalls. The plethora of voices and opinions available is indeed liberating, but it's paramount for individuals to differentiate between casual chatter, spirited debates among acquaintances, and the informed judgments of professionals. True professional judgments are typically anchored in robust data and principles, delivered with assured confidence, and aren't subject to the whims and biases that can dominate informal conversations. Pierre, your discerning approach and analytical prowess easily classify you among those capable of professional judgment.
In conclusion, Pierre, your firm stance against unwarranted labelling combined with your accent on sense-making and common sense is not just commendable but also incredibly timely and incredibly relevant in upcoming 'age of disinformation'. Here's hoping that more people, including our friends and colleagues, take a leaf out of your book and contribute to creating a more informed and judicious society. Kudos!

@@finneganfly Thanks! While we prefer to keep the identities of our team members shrouded in a bit of mystery, rest assured, we're Canada's silent guardians of public safety, human evolution and tech evolution. It's heartening to see our thoughts being embraced without any TH-cam backlash or federal government of Canada backlash... for now. We'll keep pushing the envelope and see just how daring we can be without ticking off the powers-that-be too much. Perhaps it's too late, and we're done for. We'll see. Stay tuned, and thanks for the nice comment!

      ****What's going on in Canada?****
*Did you know that PM Trudeau paid the World Economic Forum for expert opinions favorable to Carbon Tax creation?*
*Did you know that PM Trudeau is giving the World Economic Forum 110 Million $$$ to prepare Canada for the WEF*
*promoted (no competition) one World digital currency system?*
*Did you know that the World Economic Forum Great Reset agenda before 2030 success, requires Canada and the USA to* *become "weaker" domestically, and on the World stage?*
      *All 100% true.*
*Did you know that Chrystia Freeland, Canada's Minister of Finance is also a managing director on the World Economic Forum board of directors?* *Coincidence?*
*The fact that these facts are never challenged in Parliament, and (almost) never mentioned anywhere in the Canadian Press, should disturb all of us.* *Does this disturb you too, or not?*

I knew a surgeon from Lebanon who worked for "Doctors without boarders" for 20 years in Canada. The moment he got his citizenship, they took his license away. He's been working at GNC for the last 10 years. Despicable.
