Kaudugama Cave Temple, Hettimulla || කවුඩුගම ලෙන් විහාරය, හෙට්ටිමුල්ල

This historic #Kaudugama Rajamaha Vihara is located about one kilometer away from #Hettimulla on the side road near Hettimulla #Bandaranaike College on the Kegalle to #Bulathkohupitiya road. Legend has it that this cave temple, which belongs to the early period of #Anuradhapura, was built by King #Valagamba. There are several sitting and standing Buddha statues belonging to the Kandy period in the special cave which is about 100 feet high. The paintings and statues here are well preserved. The entrance to the main cave is a charming moonstone and a pair of lame stone steps.
#කෑගල්ල සිට #බුලත්කොහුපිටිය මාර්ගයේ #හෙට්ටිමුල්ල #බණ්ඩාරනායක විදුහල අසලින් වූ අතුරු මාවතේ හෙට්ටිමුල්ලට කිලෝමීටරයක් පමණ දුරින් මෙම ඓතිහාසික #කවුඩුගම රජමහා විහාරය පිහිටා තිබේ. #අනුරාධපුර මුල් යුගයට අයත් මෙම ලෙන් විහාරය, #වලගම්බා රජු විසින් කරවූවක් බවට ජනප්‍රවාදයේ එයි. අඩි 100ක් පමණ උසකින් යුතු සුවිශේෂ ලෙන තුළ මහනුවර යුගයට අයත් හිඳි හා හිටි බුද්ධ ප්‍රතිමා කිහිපයකි. මෙහි ඇති සිතුවම් හා ප්‍රතිමා මනා ලෙස සංරක්ෂණය කර තිබේ. ප්‍රධාන ලෙනට පිවිසීම සඳහා චාම් සඳකඩපහණක් හා කොරවක් ගල් යුගලකින් යුතු පියගැටපෙළ කි.
