Question, please: Is it ok to run BOTH iTunes server AND Media Server at the same time? Or do I need to disable parts of one (e.g. music) to use the other - or anything like that? Thank you, as the others have said, for these great videos, which have been incredibly useful in helping me set up my first big boy NAS!

This timestamp is interesting. DLNA doesn't allow permissions. So basically everyone in the network has full access to the data which may be not desired. So may question now is. If I want to use DLNA only for my TV (which is also connected to the home network via wlan), can I connect the TV via LAN2 directly to the NAS and by this only give the TV access via DLNA whereas all other users/devices of the home network still have no access to the data?

I have my Synology DS923+ streaming to all my devices via DLNA for months. Last week I bought a TP-Link router that has the Link Aggregation feature, so, I enabled it, connected the 2 cables to my Synology and enabled the Link Aggregation on the Synology, creating the Bond 1 (LAN1 + LAN2) interface. Since then, the DLNA service doesn't work. When I go to Media Server, the network interface field is not available anymore. So I deleted the Bond 1 on the Synology but kept both cables connected and went to the Media Server and defined LAN2 as the network interface. Now the service sometimes works but sometimes doesn't. I tested in all the devices I used to stream. Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Great video. I set up videos station with my friends' drums covers. However, I went through and marked my favorites. is there a way to tell it to just show/play them? TY

Thanks for the video. A similar question to the one I posted in Part 3’s comments. Whilst this shows how to share files once on the NAS, I’m unsure how to move the files across? Is it a case of exporting from say iTunes, coping over the the NAS and then indexing? I’m unsure how to preserve any “play lists” etc. already created in iTunes?

would be nice if Synology fixed broken .CUE sheets with FLAC files in DSM 7 Audio Station :/

Hey! excellent information! very useful. It's unfortunate that Synology spends so much time having great tools but with such an ugly and simple interface. They should dedicate themselves to modernizing their image. Especially the apps for phones are extremely basic.

Many thanks for all your content. Quick introduction: just got the 1621+ with the E10M20-T1 CARD - on which I have attached 2 X NVMe M2 ( 2228 ) of 1 TB each ( PCIe Gen 3 ). I stiil have the front NVMe slots available.
Question: I’m planning to order another 2 NVMe cards of 1 TB each - this time the 4th PCIe Generation - is it worth it and will make it a difference to the overall performance of the NAS unit ?
Additional information: running 32 GB RAM on it with 2 x 12 TB HDD and another 4 x 3 TB HDD - planning to configure it as a RAID 10.
Mostly video editing / video content creation & photography to perform & storage on it.
    Much appreciated! Thank you.

You have any answers why the DS audio app keeps trying to quick connect to my old DS216j and refuses to find my DS920+ ?

If it was only as easy as you say in the video 7:12 "just install it" except that piece of Synology crap doesn't work. You get an error message saying This package requires you to install "pgsql-adapter.service" which of course the instructions found over on the Synology forums don't work. How about a video that bypasses anything Synology DSM7.

Thats correct. I'll be publishing the rest of the videos gradually throughout the month. If I drop them all at once, TH-cam's algorithms will have a fit lol. Plus, I have a bunch of other content on the channel to publish, so it's just best all round the publish gradually. Otherwise TH-cam will get agro'y about spamming + it allows this content to get a decent airing on the channel to grow and share. Sorry that they can't be immediately available
