I got the elite with my xbox one an I love it but I have had to replace the RB 7 times all ready it cheap made if it hadn't come with my xbox I wouldn't spend 150 dollars on it but I'm so use to using it I cant play without my.elite lol

Forza horizon looks awful in 1st person view especially with that 270° wheel lock. The chase cam is great if you compare it with cockpit view.

The funny thing is you didn't setup the Fanatec Wheel because you steer 90 degrees and the car is steering like 20 degrees

Yeah, but you can´t just go 200MPH in real life... Or if you crash your real life car, you´ll have to spend money on repairs... Or you can´t drift, since you´d need to spend alot of money for new wheels... etc etc

If you use a proper camera view then the wheel would feel more natural. Even Hood view is better than trailer view

I am well aware what its like to use a wheel in VR. I have a Thrustmaster TX and Dell Visor. But using trailer view while using a wheel will break the immersion and it just won't feel as good.

IWASTEDMYTIME PS4 has better wheel support. I play dirt rally on my PS4 I use Logitech G29 and also use the 4th gear (shifter knob) as my handbrake. With an elastic strap to pull it back to 3rd so I don’t get my handbrake stuck.

This is such an odd video.
You use a sim racing wheel on a game made to be played with a controller. FH4 honestly doesn't do the wheel any justice in terms what it can do. You didnt even set the wheel up correctly in game. There's obviously huge dead zones when you turn the wheel. Driving in chase cam with a wheel is also difficult. Even bumper or hood would've been better.
I get what you're trying to show. I just feel that the wheel was put in its worst possible scenario for it to be used
Yeah i think he forgot to turn the wheel to simulation, he probably have it on normal, and maybe that is why there are so much dead zones

2:37 the controller attachment is one of the coolest ideas I have seen as the gear system that you are talking about is actually used in cars. In the mechanic trade it’s what’s known as as a rack and pinion steering system in older vehicles it’s as basic as the mini controller version but on newer vehicles they add additional electrical and or hydraulic power steering.

Love the video, love the idea. Showing both extremes... just a few comments, when using the wheel, drive in cockpit view, (better driving experience). And keep in mind your driving in the winter season, so the physics are tuned for snow driving, you will need to adjust for those mechanics.

I think he probably forgot to set it to 360° mode... the stock wheel is set at 1080°

Dear god no! 180° means that you can turn 90° to either direction, whilst 360° is half a wheel turn to either side, personally i'm using 540° (1,5 turn)

A while back I happened to luck up in my local Goodwill, and find a Logitech NASCAR branded USB Racing wheel with the pedals for PC, and it really does help make racing games like Dirt 3, OutRun Cost to Cost 2006 more immersive, and fun, but you really need the space to set them up proper for the best experience.

Naru 'Sanav well you can feel it and for an arcade game it has decent force feedback. My point is the steering wheel cost that much because you get what you’re paying for. Ive seen some people lashing out on these type of steering wheels just because of its price and assume its just a fancy steering wheel just mounted on a regular controller not taking into account the technology in the wheel. Yes horizon is best played with a controller but people calling out a wheel just because they think it wouldn’t enhance their experience and not worth the price is just stupid.
Now let's compare $15 wheel vs $1500 wheel vs $80 Nintendo Labo wheel. lol

I picked up the mini wheel for PS4. Taking getting used to but works well. Play in vr for a bit of extra immersion

I use a thrustmaster tx550 and a welded together frame made at home. Wheel offers finer control and feedback but takes getting used to. A few notes, people don't buy expensive setups to drive 3rd person. Wheel and force feedback are clearly not setup properly. While Horizon is a good steering wheel game, motorsport 7 is what its meant for. Also, the game changes steering ratios, feedback and more when a steering wheel is used. A plastic wheel on a hand controller will never reflect that. Fun video though.
I can see in the video the deadzone on your professional setup looks like its set to the default 10%, which is why you're cranking the wheel like crazy to get any turning going (if its a 900 degree wheel you'd need to go past 90 degress before ANY turn is input). You have to go to the controls, highlight over the Axis for turning and select Advanced Options, turn off the deadzone, the car should feel extremely responsive, not floaty like it looks in your video. I had this issue with my wheel, default deadzone is massive and terrible.

I have a very similar wheel setup, I just have the standard CSL Base, elite pedals, and the p1 wheel. I have the same seat and the clutch and stick shift is coming soon

I have the fanatic wheel and it drives nothing like that, it drives like a charm. Also the driver cam is best suited for the wheel.

I have a Thrustmaster TMX with T3PA pedal set and TH8A shifter and a seat off of a 1990 Miata from a junkyard. All in all it probably cost around $400 (my seat was $15, depends which junkyard you go to.) If you can afford a $1,500 Fanatec setup then do it because they’re incredible stuff. But I have just as much fun with my cheap (compared to the fanatec) setup. And also have a ton of memories and attachment to it, because I bought it all without a job and just cleaning houses with my parents before I got the job I have now

Interesting video, but if you are considering a wheel and pedal set up I suggest you check out older videos from Inside Sim Racing, The Sim Pit, and Jimmy Broadbent. Once you go with a wheel properly set up there is no going back to a controller, especially if you want immersion.
