- Build orders are essential for improving in Age of Empires 2 and now there is an interactive build order guide to help you practice. In this video I highlight the "Scouts into Knights" build order which is a great starting point for newer players. I play using the guide myself to give you all an idea of what it's like. Instructions unclear, got Persian douched by the idling computer opponent.
About the berry/boar situation. What the guide wants you to do is create 4 villagers in a row to berries. The second boar is actually lured by using one of your already existing boar hunters gathering food from the first boar. Hope this explains it.
I thought on this for a weak and get to this conclusion... can wait for this video and save some time...

@@cicero8676 Hey Cicero, about your "scouts into knights" build AoE2 order: do you recommend to HAVE 6 scouts (1 initial + make 5) or MAKE 6 scouts (1 initial + make 6)? That was unclear to T90 in the video, and it's unclear to me too as a new AoE2DE player. Otherwise, good guide!
@@benhillman1122 I downloaded Cicero's AoE2DE mod from the official mod store and unfortunately, it does not include "scouts into knights". I guess it might include it in a future update.
@@darthleader5806 6 scouts are required for the tutorial - this is made clear in the DE version.

some instructions are just from audio.. it should have all in text as well... if you not listen, then its arruined..

try this against the AI on hard without pressuring from the 12 minute on and watch yourself get trashed :P not a bad build order to be honest!! I do love scouts into knights tbf

Going scout would cause spearmen, which would be massed by the time knights arrive. Isn't counter intuitive or am I missing something?
Spearman don't counter knight perse. It's about speed. Keep running around and find places to do damage. Once you have been running around for a couple minutes you can also add an archery range for skirms if he has a lot of spears or pikes. Also, 4 knights can easily kill like 4 to 6 spears (maybe even pikes but that depends on upgrades probably).

I think the steam version ist best, so you can play on steam, if you like you can always get the user patch an install voobly and play there as well, hope this helps you :'D

@@KnipeShroud Yes, it means exactly that. Also, if you want to play Wololo Kingdoms on Voobly, you should also buy all Age of Empires 2 HD DLCs on Steam. Wololo Kingdoms games are very common on Voobly and in fact, all pro level players use it too.
You might wanna do that now or wait for a sale - there are some sweet AOE II sales on Steam from time to time.

My only cretique is that I would like to see maybe a bit more from the AI to maybe simulate an opponent, so you can also learn how to multitask and being aware of what your opponent is up too.
Also when I played it. For some reason it doesn't take into account if you lose vills to bad boar lures lmao like me (Lost 2 vills in a game doing a BO for Drush into FC). So maybe some consideration into getting loom earlier, if you are like me, and you feel you're going to lose vills to a bad boar lure.
@@theblackdragon7321 Being able to successfully lure boars without loom is an essential requirement for every build order there is. You might wanna practice your boar lures by using sheep to block the boar or using the house/paliside foundation trick.
@@stack_one yeah, you're right, but then what's the point of getting loom that late if you don't plan to use it to assist in luring the boar? Are we planning on rushing with vills or is it just to buff up the vills for defense?
Getting loom just before clicking up to Feudal is to protect your villagers from getting rushed. If you don't have loom, archers can easily one-shot kill your villagers in feudal and also means you can't fight man-at-arms or scouts with your villagers. Also protects your forward villagers if you're going for an aggressive Feudal strategy. But yeah, if you really feel you can't lure boar without loom, your first 6 vils should be on sheep, next 3 or 4 on wood then get loom. As long as your TC never stops doing *something* (i.e. making villagers, researching techs or advancing), you should be fine.
