Hey nili I haven't watched your vids for some time (or any other aoe 2 stuff at all) AoE2 DE brought me back! Your english has inproved so much since then. Really nice video!
Hey Nili, excellent video!! I always find it so hard to balance my early eco bc I get confused with how to allocate my pop. Your approach is really clear and the methods are very easy to follow, as well as the reasoning behind certain decisions. Thanks so much and keep it up my bro! Also congrats with the red bull tourney - it was the first time I'd watched a tournament live on twitch and you in particular answered a few of the questions I asked in the chat and honestly I really appreciated that instant feedback. You're awesome!!
Awesome! Build order guides in DE are a lot better for us as we can see all the time how many vills are on each res. So keep it up with the BO guides! Thanks!

pop 22 feels late for scouts in de. Most of the time there are walls up. Pop 20 with early boars works better imo. Just take boars after first 2 sheeps and the rest is kind of simular, loom after 19 or 20 depending on food count.
Hi Nili. Great video. However, I have noticed what decides the type of opening you go for, whether it is maa, scouts, archers etc., is depended upon your opponent's civ as much as your own. I would therefore like to know more about how to counter the various civs. Like for instance, you often play maa against meso civs and civs with eco bonuses, even though you are a cavalry civ yourself.
There is so much potential in the shift-assign for vills. Pretty exciting to work on that and optimize the play. With that and auto-reseeding for farms one really should never have idles (before contact with the enemy of course, raiding changes things)
Same here. That I started to practise and went to 2.3k: I only used Spains, as I like the Conqs. Only did scout rush into Conq spam. This worked well, as I focussed on the same BO all the time i got better with Micro and reading my oponent.
I guess what would be really useful is build orders for the other maps in the DE map pool. Most players have at least some idea on Arabia, but what the hell do you do on City of Lakes? Has that map ever been seen before?! 11
For sure, I've been following Hera's stuff closely. Was responding to Nili's feedback and suggestions request at the end of the video. But you're right, duplication is best avoided. Could just work through all the standard BOs emphasising the little things you do differently in DE with command queue etc...
how are you going back to your scout like that in the beginning i know you have a command group set to him but when i press the number that corresponds to that command group it doesnt center him in my screen it just selects him. how do i find my scout without having to scroll through the map

in all honesty I feel like Teutons are underrated for scout rushes. The cheaper farms means you can have way more wood AND farms in order to put down stables and actually produce from them as well. I usually play Teutons when I play ranked and scout rushes always go off pretty well
@@NiliAoE2 well naturally but once you hit castle and go into knights the cheaper farms makes it easier to put down a second stable, but knight rushing is a whole different thing

Nice Video. I would have appriciated some insight into why pop 22 and not pop 21 scouts (what are the advantages disadvantages?) because I was under the impression that pop 21 sc was more popular for 1v1 nowadays.
Hi Nili! Love your enthousiasm when you play and talk us through your games. With Mongols, many people go into archers after scouts, but could it also be possible to go straight into Mangudai after a scout rush? If so, do you have a good way of transitioning into stone and Castle Age? Cheers, Dennis
I don't know if you agree Nili, for example if I'm planning to switch to xbows or CA in castle I prefer to do less farms in feudal and instead mill deers. (I usually do for example with huns or magyars)
Theoretically won't it always be faster to make a barracks before a stable and thus your enemy could always make spearman before or when your scouts arrive?
What about adding farms in dark age? (I usually add 2 farms as soon as possible with pop22). I feel like my early feudal age eco is much smoother that way and I can also avoid killing 2 sheep after the boar. Of course I have less wood for fast walling against m@a/drush and for walling in general but still it works very nice for me. (If i need to wall hard I avoid the farms directly) All in all anyway, I prefer to go for pop21 scouts because I can get the scouts out quicker to defend from m@a, in that case I tend to do 1 farm.
One thing I struggle with is choosing a rush based on the map. Think of the Turks. 1. Drush into FC Jans 2. Scouts into Light Cav & Horse Archers 3. The important thing first -> Great educational video. Now my question^^, is it necessary to build a second lumber camp? Or is it because of the strategy, because u don't have to built the mining camp for gold, a second mill for hunting or starting to wall?
I'd love to hear Nili's answer on this. I sometimes stay mono-lumber if I'm planning to play scout-only and advance quickly to castle age. I think Viper does that sometimes.
Another nice thing to add is that if your opponent is doing scouts I think having your lumberjacks close together is a better choice (You need less lancers and multitasking), If you are against m@a or ranged units i think having the lumber vills split into two different woodlines is better because you can avoid having wood completely denied/a lot of idle/making a tower.
@@SimoneBattaglia94 from my experience one lumbercamp can be very risky if someone comes to you with archers or towers... but I mean try it out guys :) sometimes it works but sometimes it can be pain in the ass, but lets be honest more then 6-7 vilgers on one lmubercamp means the ways will be likely uneffective , too :/
no, if you have a civ that has bad cavalay, you should go for a different opening. if your opponents map is easily walled, rather dont go scouts either.
should i still make scouts when i transition from scout rush into archers? also how many archers should i mass before i send them forward (with fletching)?
