    The bikes we get in New Zealand do not have these restrictions and exactly the same 23 R1 here has 180 wheel horsepower on a dynojet dyno. The US get heavily restricted bikes for some reason. Another example the 2023 ZX4RR we get here is just under 70 horsepower at the tyre.

    I wander does bazzaz affect the secondary throttle plates on 2008 busa or am I still restricted

    • @lifted_above
      @lifted_above 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ECU is always solely in charge of secondary plates. Before ECU rewriting software was developed, tuning shops would deal with the issue by removing the plate altogether and just letting the computer turn the shaft with no plate on it. That's not a very good solution either as the secondary plates do create a better control of intake flow, when operated correctly.
      The Bazzaz or Powercommander are in charge of fuel maps. PC also has an ignition module which modifies ignition timing between computer and ignition coils. That's about it. All the rest is only accessible by ECU. That includes the speed limiter, the rev limiter, the radiator fan temp kick-on, the per-gear restrictions. The 2008 Hayabusa is still cable operated throttle so there's no ECU intervention between the throttle grip and the throttle plate.

    • @FirstLast-tx3yj
      @FirstLast-tx3yj 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yeh if it is not in the map then you must be having some sort of misfiring or rich mixture where there is fuel being left unburnt and then pops in the exhaust. is it on decel or when yo open the throttle at 3k?

    • @arizonawatermelon123
      @arizonawatermelon123 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FirstLast-tx3yj on decel only. I bought the bike used has full exhaust system. Took it to a tuner to get AFR corrected - definitely seems like he did. Can hear in the sound, feel, and especially at higher speeds/rpm, but it is still popping horribly at 3-4K rpm. The pipe does seem like shotty welding so it could be an air leak?

    • @lifted_above
      @lifted_above 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@arizonawatermelon123 Most likely the PAIR system is still flowing fresh O2 into the exhaust system after the engine exhaust ports, like factory. But with a full exhaust, the catalyst is missing so there is zero benefit of feeding O2 into the exhaust stream. Find the PAIR injection system, there should be a rubber tube connected to the airbox, which draws air from the airbox and feeds it through the PAIR system. Pull the rubber tube off the airbox and stuff a marble into it, and then stick it back on the airbox nipple. A lack of fresh airflow into your exhaust should alleviate the post-engine combustion noises. You might also want to get that ECU flashed (accomplishes boat loads more things that merely a Powercommander or Bazzaz) if you don't know if it's been done. Also be sure that the tuner didn't probe your tail pipe to get air/fuel readings while this PAIR system was injecting oxygen upstream. I'm sure if they were competent enough, they would have known that, but who knows these days.

      Some late model fuel injected Harleys with a Power Vision tuner, you can upgrade to a " quick shifter " , very similar to the Japanese sport bikes as well.
      Wide open clutchless shifting.

    Quick question for Chris Moore. Why does the factory restrict the ecu so much from the factory. And what I mean is why don't they let the throttle be true to what your wrist is doing from the factory? I mean I know it's good for your business what they do, but what is their thinking behind it? Everything is subject to Euro emissions standards, and as such, they use a combo of ECU restrictions, airbox intake restrictions, exhaust header and catalyst restrictions, per-gear throttle by wire restrictions, secondary throttle plate restrictions, and on top of all this, they tune the fuel maps to run as lean as possible (hot engines, uncomfortable rider, lower oil life, lower engine life, lower horsepower) for the benefit of the catalyzer function and less NOx out the tail pipe and less audible engine noise. People might wonder why motorcycles are so expensive.
      Meanwhile 100,000 jet airliners criss-cross the skies every day dumping heavy metals and hosts of other crap into the upper atmosphere from the burned JP8 fuel.
