I love how a design flaw becomes the most iconic part of a vehicle.
Subaru designed their unequal manifold on purpose for its characteristic midrange torque and turbo spool matched to the 2.5..to meet driveability and performance for daily driving in multiple markets it wasn't a "design flaw"
@@Crazy8tsAnd damn does it sound good.
The most iconic feature of the Porsche 911 was its unbalanced rear engine weight, and at another time it's insane turbo lag.
It's not really a flaw, it actually makes a lot more torque than equal length headers for slightly less peak power.
@@ShotgunTurtle816isn’t is also the reason the motors used to blow so easily? Even the heavily modded stis get equal length headers instead of unequal
That’s how they should from the factory!!! It’s iconic.
The reason it ain’t factory is because of reliability and performance
@@imasavage1047Also it’s not really street legal
Agweed
@@purp-studioswhat’s not street legal about UEL headers?
Or at least an option of ueql or eql from the dealership. Like come on guys.
This is sounding killer. I want to hear more about how UELH can affect engine health rather than power.
Its a Subaru- you won't notice any ill effects of the headers because your rod bearings will go out first anyways
@@t4cot4cticalor ringlands
@@t4cot4ctical Ive been a Subaru tech for 10 years. The new fa24 bearings are coated. Actually not dogshit now suprisingly.
these fa24 are solid. there are no ill effects from a uel other than slightly slower spool times on the stock twinscroll.
If you can't afford to rebuild your motor then I would think twice about modifying the headers. You will void your powertrain warranty from Subaru.
Yeah bro you did that 👌🏿🔥 subaru owes you from the sales this video will produce.
Nice sound for sure . Gives it a bit of character 🎉
Honestly. . . .thats one of my favorite sounding subies ever.
That exhaust looks dope AF!
So good! Love it!
Wow! That sound is very unique and amazing.
That sounds 100% just like a STI that’s what I’ll be doing to my wrx when I get mine
Was on a 21 STI and now 23 Limited…this definitely sounds pretty damn close! I would recommend AWE Touring with ULH as the 180 technology should help fix some raspiness.
I would highly just recommend you have a muffler shop weld on a resonator. Still run the muffler deletes and add a resonator on the mid pipe. No drone. Have had this set up for a while with a custom secondary cat delete. It’s amazing
@@JosephHoKuwhat brand? Im hating the drone on the ets muffled and def getting the resonated midpipe
Which car u like better?
@@JosephHoKuAgreed on muffler delete but keeping resonator. Part of its job is literally to make your car sound better 😊
All their 180 techology is, is a fancy name for a Helmholtz Resonator
that makes me smile. I love that sound.
Anthony is the man! Tuned my 2020 WRX-- been bulletproof so far!! Would recommend him to anyone.
What kind of power are you making? My Porsche Macan just hit 35k miles and I've been thinking about trading it in on a WRX TR instead of another Macan. The Wrx tr is the only other car I'd get over the Macan, , I'm just wanting to drive a fun, manual tuner car I can mess with.
I’ve got nearly FBO with full turbo-back exhaust. Haven’t gotten it on a dyno yet but I’m probably in the neighborhood of 300 to the wheels. Definitely room to squeeze more if I wanted but Anthony’s tunes are very reliable and aren’t dangerous.
With a VB platform you can get a lot more for less money in. They are very receptive to giving a lot of power with only a few mods. I like the effort so I stuck with VA
Sounds great! I do also love the sound of my Invidia N1 Race exhaust with a Cobb downpipe on my 2014 WRX Hatch. It does bring out the true "Subie Rumble." Only issue is if you want to listen to music or talk on the phone it's tough. The sound in the cabin is very loud. This setup makes a better weekend car than a daily.
Dude you just made me want to turn in 16 wrx for a new one and do these upgrades
Sounds freaking Beasty!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Dammm, just like my Bluebaru 2020 STI. A great video guys. Subies forever man. 😊
Man that sounds goooood!!
Looks and sounds awesome!
yeh boy looks and sounds amazing
Love the Sound. Like it. Like it.
Sounds amazing.
Pretty damn close. Sounds good
Sounds sick!
Looks so clean without the wing 🔥
This channel made me like the new body style.
Damn it does sound good!
Nice WRX..Ive got a tuned/titsted out 2018 STI..and Im still keeping it in showroom condition...went racing with some 500+ HP Porsches the other day...Amazing fun....got the AWE Track addition Exhaust system on mine..sounds supernasty..especially between shifts..next mods are Nvidia downpipe..Cold Air intake..Dyno Tune, and COBB tuning port..(previous owner Cobb tuned it to 18.6 PSI) GOt HKS Coil-overs..dropped bye about an inch..DEF makes a difference..
Sounds much better
Straight🔥
Sounds good to me haha. As close to the rumble you going to get.
Actually sounds awesome
Fantastic sound. Coming from ‘15 sti owner. It’s too bad such work needs to be done just to get the original rumble sound back.
There's pros and cons ELH is safer for power.
21 sti owner though so I wouldn't trade the UELH for more power
Would it be kinda the same with stock pipe, ur axel back, and header?
Ngl i test drove one of these and loved it. I think you may have just sold me on it. Just a little more saving to do
Sounds awesome
Yes it does!
Single exit exhaust is key. Lots of ppl do uel but keep the dual exhaust.
Nice ride. I miss my OG 2004 STi. 😞
I've always like the STi back in the day. wasn't ever my favorite car or anything. but it was up in the top 10 without a doubt. tbh the sound was always one of the reasons the STi was so high on my list. they used to sound so good. but I wasn't really a rally car type guy. my favorite cars were the Silvia, 240SX, RX7, Supra, GT-R R32/34/35 (any of the above lol), Evo 7/8/9, 350Z, 300ZX ect... basically anything that was really fast off the line or could drift... or both. I had 3 240SXs and I really wish I still had at least 1 of them now
Very nice my dude.
What wheels and fitment are on this? Looks and sounds great!
sounds sick
Will these work with a jb4 map or would I need to get it custom tuned
I'm In love!😊
I love the Rumble on my VA but I’m about to go to ELH for the power and longevity
Subarus are only as reliable as their owners 👍🤝
Loser
Sounds superb. What are those tires?
Great sound! But how’s the drone on the highway???
That legendary Subaru rumble
Damn I miss my hawkeye wagon that sounded pretty much like this. Good job.
Right I miss my 05 Legacy Gt… I had full exhaust it was perfect… I goofed and sold it now I’m looking at these new Wrxs
i got a buddy with a subie ej25 just laying around. i think i need it for my next silvia
Good Job!
could you guys make a cat-back titanium exhaust for the elantra n
What tail lights are those bro? Those are sick! Very clean
Yup, Subaru rumble sounds exactly like a misfire. I remember when I got my first WRX in 2004, back when they were still somewhat new to the US, and everyone at the car meets used to think my car was broken. My friend with an EG hatch pulled one of his spark plugs, and his car made the same rumble sound. LOL.
What camera are you using?
If the tune makes it better then it’s worth looking in to.
BEST SOUND in thev worlddd
Badass!
is that an oil leak on your sway bar bushing bracket?
In cabin souds very good .
will it need a tune on a stock vb to run that
This might be the only 4 cilinder engine which actually sounds good 🥳 Well done guys!
I mean STI's too? Lol
Dude lives under a rock ?? So many more 4 bangers that sound good
mfs gonna be mad at this one
Focus RS sounds nice
elantra n
This one is catless right? Any boost creep issues?
Still not quite as deep as the old ej motors. However it does sound nice!!!
Classic!
Ok dumb question time. Can I run with no tune? Or will I just nade my motor like nothing?
Sold my 21' sti last year. I want a supra but man, this video is lowkey making me reconsider lol
I recommend the Supra!
Let’s go!!!
Anyone looking for a nice tone and decent volume while not sacrificing for drone I would highly just recommend you have a muffler shop weld on a resonator. Still run the muffler deletes and add a resonator on the mid pipe. I’ve had this setup for a long while now and NO DRONE. I drive for hours both city and highway 70-85 and surprisingly no drone. I currently have an axle back muffler delete, custom added resonator on the mid pipe, and custom welded secondary cat delete. It’s amazing. Can’t wait for the UEL soon
The ports on the stock manifold are bigger good luck making any power with that manifold
AND they aren't separated for the twin scroll! total waste of time & money purely just for sound👎huge power loss as well 100% guaranteed!!!
@@holeshot26a twin scroll turbine requires equal pulses going through the separated collector to get the proper function out of it. I’m with you, the power certainly is going to be hurt, I’m sure the turbo lag is also more severe now…
Awesome car! Would you guys mind sharing the wheel and tire size and the offset?
I imagine a WRX boxer-diesel motor with a high end turbo-back exhaust system. 🤯.
I couldn't go with a single, I love the dual
Same! I got the axle back exhaust from then. It sounds amazing and looks good but that single is beautiful
Can you use this on the 2023 CVT ?
I would absolutely buy a 23 now if i can get these headers
That ringtone 💀
Need tune afterwards?
Is the OEM header for Twinscroll?
the backend actually looks fantastic, that's the best subaru backend since 07
I do like the slate gray@@pablo7077
Hatch has the best rear end
@@LyndenJep which year? because the hatch definitely doesn't have the best rear end, the widebody is alright, but neither are the best
Could I have the link for the exaust system
The factory header was larger than the aftermarket header…..
Is this available for a 2023 base model?
UEL headers and a twin scroll turbo?
how do i do this to my 2018 WRX? is it possible?
how can u order that ship to ca ?
Damn that sounds good! Still sad they killed off the Sti.
Any CEL with this?
can my toyota camry 2023 sound like this subie ?
I am considering getting a new 23 or 24 WRX Premium. I know it isn't the best looking car out there stock, but with some painting/lowering/fender flair paint match etc, does this car look solid? Or am I better off looking for a used STI? I know the performance for the new WRX is better than previous generations but I want it to look like a WRX too lol
I would go new if you can. I love the hawkeye but I have trust issues and knowing how people treat this cars, I went for a new 21 VA for the piece of mind and less maintenance costs. Not saying there are not good used ones out there, but you might want to have enough money saved for engine rebulid and/or trans replacement if you go that route.
Damnnnn. Just what I’m looking for. Yo, how much HP did you loose cause that’s my biggest fear to compromise HP over the sound. I have 23 wrx. Tnx for the video man. You guys are awesome.
Yup, didnt some jdm company try to do this on the 16 wrx and lit yt and then everyone was embarrassed to admit how much power they lost😂
Are you a professional racer? Are you racing much that every HP counts? If not, then get the UEL headers. 🤷🏽♂️
@@andrewlee88 Fastest EJ in the world runs UEL. If it was so bad that wouldnt be the case
@@lepermessiyah5823and what EJ is that? Post video proof…
@@sleeper.simulant7327 google Drag Brumby
Do you need a tune for this?
Sound is a HUGE part of owning a performance vehicle. If only Subaru installed unequal length headers from the factory and it was validated by engineering. I will keep my 2022 WRX unmodified and look forward to what Subaru has in store in 2-3 years for performance enthusiasts.
They cut the STi soooo I wouldn't count on them doing anything performance-wise. They're too busy pandering to the latte sipping basic ass thick frame glasses IG selfie stream posting golden retriever owners.
I kind of like the wingless look lol
No it needs that wing
I bought my Subaru a couple years ago I have not been able to figure out why some Subarus have that and some don't thank you 🎉
Any tips on removing the studs? They're the only thing stopping me from having this complete.
Stud removal tool/socket
Aren't you the guy I was in my Evo in Azusa)covina by walmart like a month ago ish and you said you live near the canyon and come find you for a roll race sometime?
Is this safe even with a tune?
Does that mean these are finally shipping?
What muffler is on that?
Sounds Amazing.
Are you saying you got all that sound from only UN headers? I have UN Headers and felt improvement on hwy, but when matched up with HF DP my car doesn’t have big rumble.
I need a better muffler, hook me up JDMmuscle
its our F1 Titanium catback system!
Looking at a blob eye STi but they cost just as much as this new one. Yay.
How does that work with a twin scroll turbo? Looks like it's no longer functions as a swim scroll?
I would assume it should still work the same despite the dividing at the flange on the header to the turbo being gone.. so maybe not as efficient as the typical twin scroll setup with the divided flange on the header.
@@jevonbucknor The stock header isn't using a divided flange, it's a joint that connects the 4 to 2 headers together. So each individual sides can spool up the turbo simultaneously.
Correct. The twinscroll can no longer take advantage of every exhaust pulse to decrease spool time. The turbo will perform like a conventional turbo with unequal length.
