Mods don't inherently void the warranty but if the motor blows up, the dealership is going to investigate the cause and there's a good chance they'll deny any warranty claims. They do legally have to prove that your mod caused the failure though. For example...if you swapped headers then your Air conditioning stopped working , Subaru cannot deny the claim due to headers.
@@Flawdaboi239 True but i think the point we were getting at was just about the engine. The wrx isn’t tuned for UEL headers. Sometimes you might even lose power. Might just not be worth the risk. Unless you get a tune. But that would void warranty aswell
When it comes to motor warranty work, yes you're right an ECU tune would most likely cause Subaru to deny claims so this is indeed a risky mod. My previous comment was about the idea of mods instantly "Voiding warranties" which isn't exactly a thing. It just makes it exponentially likely to have your warranty claims denied for parts/systems impacted by your mods.@@Goosewrx
I would assume it should still work the same despite the dividing at the flange on the header to the turbo being gone.. so maybe not as efficient as the typical twin scroll setup with the divided flange on the header.
@@jevonbucknor The stock header isn't using a divided flange, it's a joint that connects the 4 to 2 headers together. So each individual sides can spool up the turbo simultaneously.
Correct. The twinscroll can no longer take advantage of every exhaust pulse to decrease spool time. The turbo will perform like a conventional turbo with unequal length.
