    Why don’t these reviews ever mention reliability?
    It’s probably the most important aspect when purchasing a car.
    The Ranger has all the bells and whistles but the amount of people that I know that have had issues with them should be noted by the reviewers.
    If I had to choose between having heated seats or a Ute that has a history of reliability I know which way I’d be leaning.

    • @cameronm4201
      @cameronm4201 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You cannot gauge reliability on a ute that was released a month ago. There would be far too many variables, but they could mention larger more solid issues such as the class action against Toyota.

    It's funny how you can always guess the Dmax will get ridiculed no matter what. Isuzu will be far more reliable than Hilux or Ranger, given Ford gearbox, paint and fit problems and Toyota's DPF issues. The new Dmax is at Mazda standard fitout internally, and that is far more car like than the other two. It also has better safety, but of course like any motoring journalist on yt; you flog off about the vehicle's that will bring the most views. If Toyota or Ranger were the first to bring in the extra safety tech, you'd be singing their praises from the rooftops, rather than waxing lyrical about the melodious noises eminating from within. You clearly go in to this video with confirmation bias, so it is hard to take your opinion seriously.

      @shmarr7218 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the UK we don’t get the 3.0 in the Dmax, but the 1.9 and previous 2.5 have had way worse DPF problems than Toyota, caused by serious oil dilution when regen occurs.
      New Hiluxes have a DPF burn button which makes the issue far less significant.

    From Namibian perspective, the ranger in highly unreliable with really serious issues needing whole engine swops. Loadbin is prone to cracking, gearbox and diff not of african quality, they break. The body of a ranger is just too soft, suites the urban lifestyle (its an urban bakkie that can do some work). Hilux is great its only major issue in Africa ( Namibia atleast) is its stability. Most unstable car on gravel. Service interval is a joke. Otherwise reliable and good workhorse ( it can work and do urban things but always feels like it wants to kill you). Isuzu is my choice. It doesnt do anything better than the others, but it does a lot of things really well. Interior not the best, but ok. Great on gravel, great with a load, great tow car and really very basic. Its a work car that can do urban lifestyle.

    To get things in perspective the difference in ride, handling, comfort and all those things is insignificant as they are all extremely luxurious compared to an old series Land Rover which is also a luxury compared to walking with a back pack. All that matters to me is reliability as most manufacturers are not good at honouring expensive warranty claims, both Ford and Toyota have shamed them selves in this regard, I don’t know if ISUZU have as well or not but at least ISUZU seems to make the most reliable utes and that is the deciding factor for me.
    Another advantage of ISUZU is that the service departments should be more expert as they only have one drive train to know about, both DMAX and MUX are the same. The other brands have a whole range of different vehicles that they have to learn about and it’s a lot to know. Therefore if there is a problem with an ISUZU you should have a better chance of getting it fixed first time unlike what happens at Ford.

    Shame the business environment/rules and industrial base in India is no good compared to Thailand- I reckon time for them to start production there because that would mean more profit considering 1 Indian Rupee is worth $53 AUD. This means the Ute makers could spent $9000 max for a ute and sell it in Australia for $65000 - why not Aussies are happy to let the country taken over by imports and fork out big bucks without any moans/groans. That's why I have switched side and want these big companies make even more profit so their wives and partners can afford that private island somewhere idyllic.
