- It's a sad day when you have to let one of your projects go, but with this one, I just don't have the time or the space to finish it up how I originally wanted to, so instead of it sitting and collecting dust, I'm putting it up for sale. I bought this K2500 454 powered suburban last year with the intention of converting it into an Avalanche style clone, but the more I thought about it and planned out how it was going to work and look, the less it made sense and the worse the overall build was going to look in my opinion. I tried to punt and come up with an alternative plan and build for this platform, but as much as I hate to admit it, it will just be better to let it go and start with something different. Plus, it will allow me to focus on the other two truck builds I am deep in the middle of. The truck was not neglected however, we did a ton of work to this K2500 big block powered rig in anticipation of the changes to come, so its got all new front suspension, GMT800 2500HD front brakes, a Dana 70S rear full floater axle with 4.10 gears and a limited slip, some interior upgrades, and a whole lot more like an 0411 LS1 style ECM.

Hate to see it go. You're the only person I could find that's really modifying those big block K2500/3500 trucks.

I'm heart is broken, the work you do on this truck is 99% of why i subscribe. Not much support for these trucks, mostly just for the newer trucks and diesels. 🥺

I just got myself a 97 k3500 dually with a supercharged 454 and I was following your build so i could see if anything was applicable to my truck plus I also had a 97 k2500 suburban as well!

If I didn't already have the same problem of too many vehicles and projects I'd scoop it up. Awesome truck with the 0411 modification, GMT800 brakes and rear end upgrade. I don't see why it doesn't bring 8-9k pretty easy.
That kills me, because I was building my 99 2500 454 and you inspired the hell out of me. Not much support for this.
Adam I have been following this build b/c I had an 07 Tahoe 4wd with 5.3. But I desperately missed being able to shift into 4wd with a lever like my 1978 Scottsdale. I was so excited to think that you were going to do what I Always wanted. Cut the back out of and suv. Brilliant.!! Man I wish i could buy your build and finish it for you.... Please reconsider!!!!

I have a 93 k1500 sitting here that I would love to replace with a 2500, but it's safe to say that what I could offer is not what you need. Good luck, it's got a lot of potential and as others have said, it's a seller's market.

Those are solid trucks. I drove a similar GMT400 Suburban that belonged to a friend back in 2000. It was the same color too. Nice upgrades that you've done to this Suburban. Someone will get one of the best SUVs of that era when they buy your Suburban K2500.
When you were testing the 4.8L truck in the final video I was going to ask you if you are in Utah. Sure enough. Good luck with your sale. I'm overseas but home is around 200 miles north. Too many projects as well even if I've been thinking about getting a Suburban. Peace out!
You can drive it as is or have a great starting point for a project with whats done especially the computer swap

Funny story, before you bought this suburban I had a 1997 K2500 I bought a Dana super 70 from a 2004 express 3500 by accident thinking it was a 10.5 from a pickup. Never got around to putting it in and sold the truck, cool to see someone follow through with it!

Local used car dealer had a 1996 K2500 suburban for sale and was asking $18,995. But it only had 100,000 miles and was the cleanest used car I have ever seen. It had gray leather with red stitching and of course the 454. We have a 99 K2500 suburban at work that is in really nice shape for having just under 300,000 miles on it. No rust anywhere, and the original engine an transmission. I seem to have the same bucket list as you do. Few years ago I almost bought a 96 two door 4x4 Tahoe that was in very nice shape and low miles and I think they were asking like $10,000, this was before the Covid tax.
I love that rig! I have a gmc half ton with a crate 350 and now a bad 700r4. But like you I have to many projects

I like the truck. I had a 96 with a 350 and 415,000 when I sold it. I was rusting away.

In 2004 I worked my tail off to buy my first nice truck when I was 16. Dropped $5k on an immaculate 1993 k1500 rcsb z71, factory bucket seats, 350 AT, victory red. I never drove it in winter all these years here in Maine. And I still have it to this day.
I too wanted a gmt400 ccsb but an ‘07 ccsb LBZ classic made more sense for my needs. So i found one 4 years ago with 58k miles that had never been driven in winter
Reason I still have the ‘93 is bc I love everything about that truck and my dad said when he was 16 he had a ‘67 GTO convertible 400 4 speed that he wishes he never sold and he told me to not make the same mistake. Not that it compares to a GTO haha
This truck was the inspiration for modding my k2500 crew cab short box, kinda upset to see it go! I'll have to figure some stuff out on my own now lol.

1 of my favorite episodes was when you swapped out the ecu. That mess off wires and it worked. I believe you had 1 wire wrong and figured it out. Was looking forward to this build. But as a guy with 8 boats I understand you have to set some free. Just sold three now I’m down to 7. Yea I know, it’s new math.

I have the same color 99 4door Tahoe 4x4 with the 5.7. it's hands down the most reliable and best vehicle I have ever driven.
My girlfriend also has the exact Tahoe but tan. Hers has 273k mine has 210k. Both still drive like a new truck, but I also baby both of them with maintenance.

I'm in New Hampshire by Berlin and I'm definitely interested in it I would just need time. We have a 1500 LTZ Suburban that my wife drives.... and we need something that'll tow. I have a old Datsun that I take all over the country and I've driven it two New Mexico to Georgia back up here and back and forth to those locations like four or five times now.
I miss my 89 short box reg cab. 350 swapped with super chip. Nothing to brag about it was just a work horse.

And before I tear down my engine completely I wanna know 100% cuz it’s my daily lmao, please get another 7.4 and do a carb swap it stock bottom end. I’ve heard you can make 600 HP. LETS SEE
I’d say 10k all day in this market. I got 8k for my 97 6.5 diesel k2500 here in Kentucky and it was from up northern Indiana and rusted.

I feel your pain, 2004 8.1 1500 Silverado, 2005 kodiak 5500 8.1, 2002 3500 express van 8.1, 1991 s10 ext cab 8.1, 2004 Chevy Canyon 8.8 psi, 2005 colorado parts truck , 2005 silverado 1500 LB 4.3 and going to pick up another canyon in Reno.
I’m sure in today’s market 10k for a rock solid burb would not be unreasonable!

It's an 88 c1500. Frame, suspension, fully restored. 5.3 ss2 cam, 5 speed manual. 14 bolt SF rear end swap. 3/4 ton front brakes swap, NBS wheels, brand new tires, etc Needs paint and body work done and other odds and ends. Basically a lot of time and space that you don't have 🤣
Can you confirm no change in the turning radius and has this swap increased your bump steer
DId you ever swap the master cylinder for that rear diff swap or did you figure something else out? Also are you willing to share your 0411 454 PCM tune? I would like to do the same for my 99 CCSB.
The two trucks you decided to keep are essentially the same truck. Lol. The suburban would have diversified your audience.

Hit the nail on the head, nothing screams boring, like building 2 of the same trucks. If we wanted an engine displacement/hp comparison, Richard Holdener has that covered in spades.
I don’t see why you can’t get your money back, the price of used vehicles here in north Fl are outrageous. That would sell quickly here for that price.

That truck is cool but for some reason every since they started making 4 door trucks I just see no point in those things haha. Love the channel, love your work. Lt, just started watching ur site. I have a 2000 BBC 4dr that u would love to put a power adder on. What do u recommend? I need torque to pull trl. There r limited options b/c of age. Companies have discontinued kits for gmt400. Whipple would be best but I am flexible. Help please.
I believe procharger still makes a supercharger kit for the 454 trucks, although it is a centrifugal which means it makes most of its power gains at higher RPM. but as far as kits, I believe they may be the only one.
