Making a mariokart 8 port doesn't mean they will never make mariokart 9 on the switch. And to me they should make mariokart 10 a double dash sequel because of gcn rainbow road.

But then it ruined the day with in-app purchases and basically everything else.
Actually in this game, (With the exception of Petey Piranha and King Boo) special abilities were exclusive to each character pair, but with Tour, the special abilities aren’t really special due to the vast amount of characters able to have a designated special. So I wouldn’t say Tour necessarily “saved the day”, but more so, tried to bring it back. It just didn’t do it right. So, close, but not close enough.

I like how certain characters juggle the triple items and how you stop the red shells from hitting you by sending items back at the right moment

This is one of my favorite Mario Kart games of all time! I've played it since my childhood, it's my first Mario Kart game I've ever played, and it's still a blast to this day!

I've long wondered if I just have a bias towards Double Dash since I spent so much time growing up with it. But you were spot on with all of these. Double Dash really dialled the chaos to eleven and had no bad tracks. What a game!

Something I love about the game is just the sheer amount of polish. The game runs in 480p 60fps at all times and the load times are nonexistent.

Dude, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe loads in like 3 seconds. Double-Dash just seems faster because it loads during result screens. Notice how you can't mash out of them like other games?
Gamesforus well try loading any race in double dash from the main menu. The load times aren't masked by anything. They're just that fast.
I wouldn't say at ALL times, unless you got those $300 component cable for the 'cube or homebrewed your Wii U to play GC games like I did :)

This is literally my favorite mario kart game even today. I always used to pick toadette and Baby mario and when I played with my cousin. "Who is basically a Male version of me) we would go against each other in 50 and 100 than rise together with alternate driving in 150 they seriously need to port this game and mario strikers on the switch.
I always main Bowser and Luigi in this game.
Also the replays were amazing at angles. The game made you look so awesome drifting and switching during the races.
"The red shells work" you must not know that you can dodge anything with a drift boost. (Also tech drift and fast fall)
How do people get blue sparks so fast during drift? What's the input?

"The bowser shell" or as me and my friends call it, the mega nut.
While we only got 16 tracks, the quality of the tracks we do get pretty much makes up for it and it doesn’t feel like anything is missing. The only tracks in the game I’m not super crazy about are Dry Dry Desert and Sherbet Land but seriously the rest of the track selection is great! Also due to Double Dash’s unique elements such as the special items and 2 characters and one kart, it really makes the game stand out as really fun in a way not like any other Mario Kart game.
2:51 driving along the top of the bridge is challenging but with enough practice it's really easy

The Heart item from Double Dash is MIND BLOWING!!!!!! We have never seen an item like this! You literally STEAL up to 2 items and you can use them as your own! Also you get protected too! It is such an AMAZING item!

The controls were loose in the game newer Mario Karts have perfected the controls in my opinion. Mario Kart Double Dash is a good game but not the best.

To be fair, there’s a reason the all cup tour wouldn’t work in newer titles, mainly mk8dx since by the end of 2023 we’re gonna have 96 TRACKS. It would take ages unless there was a way to only do nitro, retro, wii u dlc and bcp dlc separately

In mario kart 8 deluxe when you are playing online, versus race, grand prix, ECT. There should be a "double dash mode" so its basically like double dash where you can pick two characters and have specific items for each character. (Mabybe new karts too)

Y’know, you just made a video on one of the best video games of all time. Thank you for summing up one of my favourite ever games. There is only 1 bad thing: not enough tracks! Is what I would say if they all weren’t so amazing. Every song, every course, every character, every kart. They’re all amazing. If they don’t make a remake/ sequel/ mode/ rerelease for Switch it would kill me. If anyone is still reading this, thank you for hearing me talk about this masterpiece.
Tidal Yacht I actually enjoy the item balance as it makes for some fun twists and I love the special items. The drifting is also very fun and smooth to me, but this is coming from someone that put hours and hours into it.
The menu when you hit START button on controller is so charming makes me wanna go to Camden Market buying cool stuff
