The 2020 Escape is all new for 2020! It uses a brand new chassis that will be shared with the new Baby Bronco! The Escape is now the SUV that is designed for the versatility on the street. The 20 Escape is lower than the previous Escape. But it is 4" Wider and 2.5" Longer than last year's Escape! The New Ford Escape has 4 available engines! The standard engine is a 1.5L 3 cylinder with Cylinder Deactivation. The Optional engine for the escape is a 2.0L 4 cylinder that is only available as an All Wheel Drive. Next up, the 2020 Ford Escape is available with two Hybrid Powertrains. The standard Hybrid Engine, and a Plug-In Hybrid that has a 14.4 KWH battery pack! The Plug-In Hybrid might also have a tax credit for up to $7,500! The interior on the new escape is also brand new! First up, the 20 Escape has a rotary dial for the transmission selector. It also has a new Auto-Hold feature that will keep the car in place until you tap the gas! Ford was very focused on delivering technology! The Escape has features like adaptive cruise, lane keeping assist, and active park assist. The Escape has best in class rear leg room! In fact, you can even slide the rear seat forward and back for flexibilty! The Panoramic Vista Roof is also on this new Escape! The design of the Escape obviously taking cues from the Porsche's SUV's and from Tesla's! And we think it looks great!

@@pulkpullrevolving It was the stupidest reason really. There was a hole in the headliner. Took it to the dealer to have it repaired, when they installed the new one they not only tore it but scratched the dash. So when they replaced the dash and headliner again they wired something wrong in the dash causing a short. This qualified the vehicle for our lemon law and Ford had to buy it back. This went on for a span of 4 months. I was sick of being in a rental all the time and just having one headache after another.

It's a European Kuga. The first generation had a sporty look, then they decided to sell it in the US, so they made it look visually bigger , more like an American SUV. Now they went back to the sporty look, to compete against the Mazda CX-5 and the likes. You'll get the baby Bronco, if you want an American style small SUV.

I have the 2017 Ford Escape and I love the way it looks on the outside. Ford has said they were going for a Porsche type styling however, I think it came out looking like a KIA. Also, do people who buy Fords want this type of styling. Fords have always had a certain appeal to a certain type of person, so I'm not sure if trying to appeal to different type of people is a good move. Time will tell, but for me, I'll sick with my 2017 Escape.

Everyone's hating on the new design but I like it. The outgoing generation looked so dated. It needed a major redesign. All the other competing S.U.V's already did while the Escape was fully redesigned way back in 2012. I will admit just like many others that it does kind of look like a Kia, specifically the Sportage, but for the most part it also looks like a Porsche Macan. I think that's a good thing to have a mostly German luxury S.U.V. based design. It's just too bad we can't have the identical all new Focus to go with it. That was a decent seller and would've generated more sales with the all new redesign.

Exactly. The new model which is now on sale in Europe but we don't get it in the USA and Canada is a great car probably one of the best in its class, you have your choice of manual transmission, or a traditional geared slushbox,
or the WET clutch DCT which is NOT the same piece of crap that was offered in the USA (dry clutch DCT) which was nothing but problems. The dry clutch powershift was NEVER offered in Europe and the wet clutch Powershift was very reliable.

Thanks for the detailed video for the 2020 Escape. I currently own a black 2017 titanium Awd with a 2.0 EcoBoost. I really enjoy my Escape. Solid Ride and drives like a car. I'm considering the Titanium Awd 2.0, so I'm waiting for inventory to test drive and review the vehicle front to back. I really like the new design and the body lines. Interior looks great. Fantastic technology infotainment ceñter. I like yourself am puzzled with the strange interior door designs and why a hood prop rod on a newly-designed vehicle. I've looked at Hood props for other vehicles and found them inexpensive and easy to install so Ford should just step up and put the props on this vehicle and dump the rod. So if in person, the vehicle drives as good as it looks on your video and my trade in for my 2017 is inline. I'll likely pull the trigger. My initial issue is being a new car I'm sure Ford will not be offering rebates or discounts for several months. So I may wait a bit before those discounts and rebates become available, and of course the new MSRP for the Titanium with the equipment I'm looking for likely making those discounts and rebates even more important. Either way thanks for the great informative video and I'm sure at some point I'll be driving one of those new 2020 Escapes Titanium's Awd home.

And as for as power they are both sleepers in performance world.
Both come with the 3.5L twin turbo 365 hp EcoBoost. As an engine option.
The only con I heard about the Taurus is blindspots .
In fact I am going to trade my Escape in for a Flex Limited AWD Ecoboost.
This is the last year for the Flex as well
I have a few friends who have these, they love them
Lots of toom esp for 7 ir 6 if you have captain backseats
Tons of cargo area and towing power.
Snooth quiet tude and grt handling .
      People are snatching these up!.
      Pre owned as well.
The demand is grt , now the facts and specs are out on this .
You either love or hate the boxy look.
I find it appealing, different and stands out amoung other family haulers

I loved the Taurus too and have owned five of them. When I tried to replace my 2012 in '18 my local dealer said they couldn't get me one and wanted to push me into a SUV....I bought a Subaru instead!

I must admit I like it! My first impression was that Ford was copying Porsche's design, & tbh I don't have a problem with that. The Koreans are copying the Germans & it seems to be working for them so why not? What I do have a problem with is, as you mentioned in your vid Mitch, those indentations in the door panel! That's just wrong! You're right "What was Ford thinking?" I also don't find the infortainment unit being propped on the dash like a tablet attractive either. Other than those two complaints I think Ford has a hit on their hands! Very Euro Style! Good Job Ford!

That's what made driving cars in the 70's so fun. My dad had a '78 Delta 88 when I started to drive and I loved driving it. Hoods were so big and when they were newly waxed up & shiny, it was beautiful to drive.

    • @DeanT1987
      @DeanT1987 4 ปีที่แล้ว

pinkfreud62 I agree. I’m 32 I definitely missed out on the cars from that era but I was fortunate enough to have a 2015 mustang and it certainly had a humongous hood and the seating position was perfect for that old retro feel you described plus it had the red interior . I miss it a lot.I have 3 cars and my “fun” car is an Audi S4, love the car to death. But quite frankly I may consider going back to a mustang soon as a new model comes out probably in two yrs.

  • @craigshannon5687

1st off great review. 2nd before I judge I will need to see in person at all angles. My initial reaction is I don’t like then wait a minute I do like. Yes it’s Macon ish and I like that. Yes it’s a bit like a CX5 and I like that. It is also enough different to a Macon or CX5 to make it unique to Ford. I love the Macon and see the resemblance not a Kia fan but actually don’t get all the Kia references either, but as I don’t like most Kia’s maybe I just don’t look at them much either. The front end is the most contentious to me sometimes appear ok, other times not a fan, although the headlamps are cool. The interior looks very up to date and classy. 3 cylinder engine not in my wheelhouse but the optional 4 cyl is doable for sure.

Thanks for the review. My wife has been thinking of replacing her 2016 titanium Escape (which she loves, we've owned it from brand new) with this 2020 or the new Bronco. After watching this, pretty sure we'll hold off for the Bronco!

Funny but many of the new features on the new version were already available in Europe on the 2017 Kuga which is the European version of the Escape. We liked it so much that my wife bought the 2019 with the 1.5 4cyl E85 which is good for both gasoline or a 85% ethanol/15% gasoline mix.
