- Innovative changes to my sea fishing rigs inspired by my coarse fishing experience. See more sea fishing : • Sea Fishing
Introducing two new rigs, the "Flounder Feeder" and the "Mini Flattish Dongle" into my sea fishing.
The first rig incorporates a homemade feeder to introduce more scent into the water to attract the Flounders to my baited hooks.
The second rig is based on a Carp fishing hair rig with a scaled down Dongle rig and circle hook. The Dongle is advocated by Billy of Billy Fishing @Billyfishing_watch
Lets see how these rigs work for the flatfish around the North East Scottish Coast. I was accompanied on this adventure by Gordon @kintakintyea
Hope you enjoy watching this video - it was a fantastic session and I had my best ever Flounder to date at 38cm and a good weight.
Tight lines. Phil

Brilliant footage of that day Phil and loads o flooks tae keep us busy, I canna wait tae see that dangle dingle rig in action, it’s great tae try oot new rigs even if they dinna work 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟
Right enjoyed the day - even the walk back up the hill was made better having both of us caught plenty of fish .
A lovely wee hidey hole you guys have found, what a beautiful beach, and a productive one at that. Love the transfer of tactics from coarse fishing!
Thanks Gordon, it's a bit of a hike but worth it when it fishes like that. Best Flounder I've had. I can see a few coming home for tea next time.
Really enjoyed that film Phil, thanks for sharing👍
Thank you, great to hear you're enjoying watching the adventures.
Love Hackley Bay all year round !
Great video guys !
Keith
☺️🏔️🏴
Thanks Keith. It was the first time I'd been down onto the beach. Both Gordon and I remarked how clean it was with very little flotsam and jetsam at the high water mark.

Well worth the walk to get there !
Great session, Gents. That beach looks tranquil and I bet it throws up a variation of fish on a dying sea! I may have to pick your brains on this one!! Well done and all the best.
Hi Steve, nice new logo you've got there. I'm wanting to get back and see if I can catch the Turbot and Brill - I've never caught a brill before so it will be a first for me if I'm lucky.
Yet another Fishy Video!!!Cheers from HERE!!! P.S. Nice Beach!
Thanks, we are a bit spoiled for choice here. They could do with more sun but then they'd be full of folks.
And another very good video Phil, and with more fish for you, as i said the packing on your reel should get you better distance on your casting, Thank you,
Thanks James. The casting has improved with a full spool. On this occasion it was the shorter cast doing the business as the Flounder were following the tide up.
Fantastic video Phil, the dingle dangle dongle, BillyFishing I’ve been watching a lot of his stuff lately, I came up with something similar after watching him using the hair rig from our course fishing experience, yet to preview it, (no bait elastic required). I’m sure your rig will work a treat mate. Fantastic session on the flounder some nice ones too on a stunning looking beach. I’ll be heading over to Gordon’s channel to see his fish too. Tight lines buddy💪🏻🎣
Hi Douglas, I'm keen to try the hiar rigged dongle. It didn't seem right to make the change when the other two rigs were working well. Next time we'll see how that works. PS Loving your Northumberland Cod series.
Hi Phil, loved how you called the 4 flooks. Like yourself I have tried coarse tactics on sea fishing and been pleasantly surprised how some things have worked out. Bits of pipe lagging or pool noodles are great for holding rigs or cut to make pop up rigs.
Thanks Robert. I've quite a lot of coarse tackle that doesn't get used that much up here inScotland. Did you see Douglas on his channel PiscatorUK using a feeder rod for flounders when we fished Carnoustie beach?
Well done guys. Great video. Lovely looking beach, nice and quiet...and no dogs!
Thanks Darren, great beach - one which we'll be going back to as I'm after those Turbot and Brill.
@anotherangleUK never actually had a brill. Good luck 👍
Good to meet you Friday. Was awsome to see the shark and hook it for a minute. Looking forward to seeing the footage. If you and Gordon are up my stomping grounds again (cullen and surrounding). Let me know ill keep you right.
Hi Ben, great to meet you and to see you hauling in so many fish - top angler Sir. We'll give you a shout about Cullen because I'm keen to target some larger Turbot. Cheer Phil.
