Had many a snag fishing Peterhead South Breakwater as a kid, must be 40 years ago! Santa brought me some stuff for my van (turning it into a camper at the moment), so I can start getting out and about fishing and hiking again. Have a fantastic New Year.
Ha ha ha, 40 years ago - quality. Shame the South Breakwater has been closed. I had some great times there fishing from my old campervan. Have a great Hogmanay and hope you get out in your van for some fishing and hiking soon. Cheers Phil.
Anither great video as usual Phil, I realy enjoy’d masel fishing alongside you once again. I was fair trikket for you seeing those crakking flounders swimming in on yer line, weel deen ma freen 👍🎣🐟🐟🐟
Thanks Gordon, I was beginning to think a blank was on the cards for a while. Great fishing buddy, we've had some super adventures this year and more to come next year. Cheer Phil.
Hi Darren, made a change to be able to do some 'back of the car' fishing - shame about the seals. We seem to be getting a fair few decent size flounders this year. Have a good 2025. Phil.
had to laugh at the second one , It took off and came back to say thanks for letting me go. Happy hogmanay Phil good way to end the year if you don't get out before the bells.
Phil, I believe it's pronounced Peterheeeed. I have watched trawler men 😂 I got thermal gloves, hat and socks too and I bought the boat a new LED lightboard for the trailer. Another enjoyable watch, Thanks.
Hi Tommo, you're right about Peterheeed and it's also known as the Blue Toon. In the old days Blue Tooner fishermen wore blue clothing. You'll not regret getting the LED lightboard they are much more brighter and far more reliable than the filament bulbs. Hope you have a great 2025 and get lots of time out on the water.
Hi Colin, it's good to see the size and weight of the flounders increasing. I'll be continuing to target a good size Turbot or Brill next year. Finger crossed. Phil.
I got a new reel and a few bits and pieces, hopefully out soon to test them out. Good to see you boys out and about, better that than watching Die Hard again! Tight Lines for the New Year.
Hi Michael, thanks mate, I'd not got any worm baits just some mackerel and squid. I think maybe Gordon had some Herring. Previous flounder sessions we've had some frozen Black Lug with us which has been quite effective. All the best for 2025. Tight lines Phil.
I walked Dee dog down by the Ythan during the summer and there were a number of sea trout leaping out of the water. Looks quite promising and the ticket isn't too pricey from the estate.
Hi, always good to return the fish - they either shoot off like a rocket or do a quick shuffle and disappear into the sand. All the best for 2025. Phil. Gordon's channel is here www.youtube.com/@kintakintyea
