  • This animation goes over what acidic and non-acidic LPR is compared to the more common GERD type reflux. LPR stands for laryngopharyngeal reflux. Patients who suffer from LPR typically only have throat symptoms including chronic throat clearing, mild intermittent sore throat, chronic cough, throat lump sensation (globus), constant phlegmy throat, etc.

Also no mention of a further side effect of LPR is that acid reaches into the station tubes leading to the ears.....and this in turn creates inner ear pain and even very sore heads.....I had this for years (And still have) and Doctors constantly said it was sinus.....

don't eat oily spicy outside food don't eat chips popcorn crunchy snacks etc
Gargle with warm salt water 3 times a day atleast
Don't eat citric fruits like orange lemon grapes
Don't eat tomatto and never eat raw onion
Don't eat spice like maggy pasta etc only use salt and turmeric in foods no other spice
Elevate your head side 6 inches atlease so create a slop so acid don't come up
Observe if diary milk curd lassi creates problem or not if do than leave them also
Never sleep or lay down after meal always lay down after 2-3 ours of sleep
Take dinner early and don't sleep before 2-3 hours after that
Take small meals 4-5 times a day don't take large meals only eat 60% of your capacity
    Eat soft spiceless foods
Take 1/3 little baking soda and drink when you feel irritation and drink every 3 days if possible only little soda not more
It will kill acid in your throat
Take 20 minutes walk after dinner
Don't do hard exercise gym or weight lifting it will create more acid reflux
Don't clear your throat distract your self in some work
Drink small sips of water when throat stuck feel because clearing throat will irritate it further if you don't clear throat and sip water than your throat will heal in 1-2 day
Also don't drink too much water at a single time it will create more acid reflux

I am putting this out there in the event that anyone has identify with it. I had covid (I think, no testing) back in February. The stress I felt out of fear of going into the hospital and being put on the death protocol was terrifying for me. I stayed home and treated it. Very soon after I got it, I started to have all of these symptoms of LPR, which I researched and was thankful I was not some freakish anomaly.
There are two things One, I NEVER had any GI issues prior to this. And two, my parasympathetic NS has always been overpowered by my sympathetic NS. I also noted that my uvula has deviated to the left, a sign of vagus nerve dysfunction. The vagus nerve is responsible for the functionality of all of these organs. Therefore, I would be hard-pressed to think there is not a connection between the vagus nerve and LPR. Thanks you for your consideration.

@@Sunshine-vz2on working on it. I am doing the things you see online to reset the vagus nerve - activating the gag reflex, gargling, humming, etc. in addition, I am seeing a chiropractor. I am in favor of the body’s ability to heal itself. When I look back to February, a lot of those GI symptoms have resolved on their own. The ones that have not are the breathing/nasal issues, though they have improved. For me anyway, I don’t see any of this LPR being separate from the vagus nerve issue. My best to you in your healing journey.

yes. i got very mild sick 3 years ago. before cov. officially. (full disclosure i live in china) very mild fever which vanished by the afternoon, and a cough, which went away after i was up for a while. after three days i felt fine but the cough worsened. by five days i could not lie down at all because i couldn't breathe and was coughing violently. it NEVER WENT AWAY. hospital tests showed i was fine. i put up with this for years because every doctor told me i had an allergy! i would get night sweats on occasion, weird heart palpitations, a whooshing sound in my ears. then one lung doctor told me this is a stomach problem and i started researching this. it's getting worse now for sure but i guess now i know what i'm dealing with. i've also heard about the nervous system effects and this would account for the heart probs i assume

Then I took Ginger supplements and they worked great, but dried out my nose.
I then tried Quercetin that also worked to control my LPR, but again my nose dried out.
If you have LPR and PPIs don't work for you, try Ginger or Quercetin as an option, as long as you don't already suffer from dry nose.

You could literally have something growing in your neck. You can develop cysts that are an obstruction, like mine are, especially when I drink. I am in line to have mine removed. I have painful silent reflux in my stomach, I couldn’t even tell it was reflux. They are a consequence of consent phlegm and throat clearing for a couple of years before finding out I had silent reflux😒. I finally got a good ENT who knew the signs very well. It might not be a cyst, but keep it in mind, because if you have them they worsen with time.💖

It’s interesting to read about the people who start getting this after cv or any other influenza that involves coughing. I think part of that may be the virus. Also, I think that part of it may be from coughing especially if it’s very severe and over a long period of time. I wonder if part of it could be due to weakened abdominal muscles. You know how your chest and abdominals get so sore from coughing-I wonder if the stomach muscles weaken to the point of developing a stomach hernia. Stomach hernias are known to reek havoc and cause GERD. Just a thought I have. What do you think?

Gotta be something like this that I’ve got. On occasion, usually after falling asleep with a good deal of carbs & alcohol in my stomach, stomach acid will literally leak up and out the top esophageal sphincter and into my throat. Any comforting stories of full recovery? An ent recently told me I have reflux (not specific but he said I wouldn’t know it was there, so I figure silent reflux) and threw some meds at me like a good doctor does. But anyways, I was having laryngitis for like a month and a half after I supposedly had acute bronchitis, even though I didn’t have any bronchitis symptoms, (this was er visit, beginning of it all). And eventually after playing the guessing game with a regular physician 4weeks after the er visit, I decided to skip his games and go straight to a “specialist”, as he was gonna refer me anyways if his guessing game didn’t work out. Now I’m thinking it’s gonna be all good, this specialist will tell me what to take or do to fix this lingering laryngitis. But after his vague diagnosis, which literally consisted of sticking the camera down my throat looking for a second and afterward telling me, “so your throat is swollen and it’s because of reflux”. Literally the most vague thing I’ve have ever heard. So I asked what part of my throat, he said the larynx and the base of my tongue and that it was caused by reflux. He said you won’t know it’s there but that’s what it is. I said oh ok because I didn’t know anything about it (silent reflux) and thought it wasn’t an issue so didn’t bother to ask more about it. He threw prescriptions at me and that was that. Oh aaaand he caused my eardrum to be blocked by earwax and left it because it was covering my ear drum and he said it needed to be loser. So I went in with no ear problem and just some wax that need to be removed and some how left with hearing issue on my left ear. This is the type of stuff we have to deal with now a days with doctors. It’s horrible and none of us should have to have this kind of treatment. Unfortunately it seems to be more common than not, now a days. It’s pretty depressing to have issues with your body and health and this is what we get from the ones who are supposed to fix us. But anyways for those of you reading this, if an ent says you have lpr, and they are as I described this ent to be, don’t go back and get a second opinion. There are other things that can cause similar symptoms as lpr. And I read a thing that an ent wrote up, and said that “ents love to diagnose people with lpr” because it’s easy to say that’s what it is. I read that it is over diagnosed, or better wording would be wrong diagnosis. But that ents love it because it has similar symptoms and they can just say it’s that and get the patient to spend more time and money that they shouldn’t. Or because it’s easier to just say it’s lpr than to have to figure out what it is if not. So get that second opinion or if your ent is actually nice and thorough, then ask to have the test where they test with a thing down your throat for 24 hours to actually see and monitor if you have reflux happening at all. Because there is no real way to tell the difference by looking down your throat, between lpr effects (meaning throat top to bottom)vs other issues that have the same or similar symptoms and visible appearance. Like if you have nasal issues and a lot of post nasal drip, that could be causing similar symptoms. So yeah if you don’t have lpr, then it’s not right to be told you do and have to change your whole everyday life like food and whatever else, on top of the meds they are gonna of course want you to take for months to see if it “cures” the issues. The idea of living with this kind of issue forever, makes me want to check out early honestly. If it wasn’t for my God, my marriage and my kids. Good luck to you all and hope you have an easy time with this if you have it. Find a good quality rated ent too, not too old not too young.

Wow!! I read your story and RELATABLE!!! I’m so sorry you’re going through this, hopefully it has resolved. Im currently having symptoms of Reflux laryngitis and I even gasp for breath sometimes when it gets bad I actually felt some weird hiccup like spasms in my throat they went away as of now.
But all this is because of a STEROID MEDICATION ER doctors irresponsibily pumped in my IV this year January 2022 without even diagnosing me with anything. I was having nerve pain from my back and they started giving me HIGH DOSES of it they normally give to ppl with autoimmune diseases.
But I will say before all this happened I’m pretty sure I did develop reflux laryngitis for the first time back in November 2021, after drinking too much wine. My voice got really hoarse and I had “silent reflux” symptoms I don’t get the typical burning in chest but I feel pressure and trapped gas and sometimes burning when acid would come upwards. My vocal cords felt really irritated and sore just like they do now almost like I’m losing my voice. I think it lasted maybe 2-3 weeks and resolved itself without any medication. But now I’m being prescribed Prilosec to treat the reflux and I don’t even want to take it because I’m scared of more side effects I’ve been through hell with different meds and it’s caused me so much health anxiety I’m scared to get help even when I need it because the doctors never listen when I tell them the side effects.
BUT back to the foolish ER docs thanks to them ….
almost two months later and I’m stuck dealing with HELLISH side effects REFLUX LARYNGITIS only being one of them because the medicine gives horrendous side effects on stomach/digestive
and I STILL have to wean off steroids (originally dexamethesone now switched to prednisone) because my adrenal glands are suppressed from too much steroids and now they are not producing cortisol naturally. my body is fully dependent on the steroid so if I stop taking it I risk going into an adrenal crisis which can kill you if you’re not treated immediately by IV.
Now I have to see a cardiologist for side effects with my heart rate and I’m seeing an endocrinologist because I’ll have to keep testing my cortisol and taking steroids until I can recover function, I PRAY TO GOD I DO .
I suffered from almost over a month of insomnia where I only slept 1-2 hours a day and some days NONE because of the medication.
I’m unable to work because of it and it’s taking a toll in every aspect of my life.
ALL THIS BECAUSE OF E.R. DOCS PASSING OUT RISKY MEDS LIKE CANDY.I PRAY YOU ARE WELL and there is always HOPE. GOD IS SO GOOD 🙏🏼

@@strang3doll really sorry for you, hope you are fine now, and yes i have lost a lot of faith in current medical system, doctors just keep prescribing medicines as if they are candies but truth be told its the medicine causing more issues than fixing them, human bodies have evolved for thousands of years and yet we have to trust a guy who studied for 10 years to make a wrong diagnosis and ruin our bodies with pills

I found your video From having an EDG I found out I have a small Hiatal hernia. I have constant burning in my throat, belching, & can hear my stomach rumble. I have to sometimes clear my throat. I dont have a constant cough though. I have tried ppi & I don't want any more surgery to fix this. I am going to my chiropractor to help with the hernia. Any advice would be grateful. Started out I have a 25 cm ovarian fibroid & thank goodness it is gone however, it left me with a loss of a kidney & I think this hernia because the mass was laying on my stomach for so long that the GI doc believes this is what caused the HH.
