I have a friend that did an O11 build and was super excited to show me, it looked cool and all but all the side and bottom intake fans sticks out like sore thumb, like you pay that much money for them only to get to see them from back, he ended up swapping side fans cuz it was bothering him after I mention it lol, and it didn't change the temps that much but it is kinda funny considering they themselves came up with that case and didn't release reverse flow version of these fans after all these years.

These fans went from "Nice to have" to "Need to have' because you can position the cable the direction you need it. But, then they became "Nice to have" again due to the scratching, but, quickly became "Need to have" because of the screen protectors for the inifinity mirrors. I have been running 9 of the white Lian Li uni fans in my rig since they first became available. They have been problem free, and they look amazing. Plus it's nice to only need the single controller to run them all. So much less cable mess and complications using single fan hub. They are NOT cheap, at about $300 for all 9 fans, but all in all considering the build quality and the overall look of them, it's well worth the price. I have the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini case, so you have an open view of everything. The Uni fans look good in either orientation, not something you can say about many other fans.

Wow, that 3D effect is really awesome, and yes, small things can make a build so much easier, I have not yet fans for an open build, but these are definitely on my BOM list. Btw, other high-end fans are about the same price with RGB, so they're pretty competitive. Thank you very much to review these, always great to see new developments on different parts.

Switched to a Lian Li O11 Dynamic case from a Corsair 400c, and pulled the trigger on getting 6 SL120 fans from Lian Li as well. Side 3 are exhaust, bottom 3 are intake, radiator at the top pulling intake. My 5600x dropped some 7 or 8c, but my 2070 S with the fans pointing up at it went from around 80c in the Corsair case, to now around 65c under load. INCREDIBLE drop due to the case having such great airflow and space due to the PSU being behind the Mobo. And it just LOOKS so good too with the glass on the side and front. It's so open.

I have 12 Corsair QL Series, Ql120 RGBs on two 360 rads. I must have spent a solid month programing lightshow after light show. Now the only time they go RGB light show is when I boot up and shut down. Unless I want to show off to people that come over like a dork they are usually off or on a dim red setting.
Wanna talk about useless? I water cooled my ram with a XSPC block for a while. Pure bling move just so I could have shorter tubing so it wouldn't sag. Used soft tubes instead of hard. It became a door stop when I refreshed my setup....

The infinity mirror looks cool, but personally I like the older design better. So if they made a version with the old RGB frame and RGB hub, that would really get me excited. I don't really know what to say about the proprietary connector, I mean it's makes the cable management easier and look nicer, but you also have to use their hub, and software afaik. So yea.... I don't know. Also I hope that they are planning to make them in 140mm as well

    • @StoneyGaming
      @StoneyGaming ปีที่แล้ว

From what I have read the original Dynamic (So non evo) has some clearance issues if you put a rad in the top with this config. Using 3x 120mm fans in the top with an radiator would also cause clearance issues with the back exhaust single 120mm. All these issues do not occur on the evo.

  • @FuSiionCraft

    They clearly are FS fans
Because how they take so long to ramp up BUT don't make a lot of noise, it would be perfect for a "just enough cooling power" build for your rads
Or if you have more than enough rads, just let them ramp up, it would not be a problem
Plus, because of the delay, it shows that they want to make them durable, they don't bombard them with power as soon as you push them to the max, so the electronics are preserved
Really, it's a fucking cool brand
    Others should take note.

A nice option would have been some kind of optional, included-in-the-box splitter to split the proprietary plug into standard RGB and fan headers.
If it would be too much amperage for the RGB header as you stated in 1:52, a disabled infinity ring and mirrors when plugging to a standard RGB header would have been a better compromise than using proprietary headers only. This leaves you with hub and border lighting without the infinity ring and mirrors.

would be great if L connect 3 could control the RGB from other companies since due to availability in my area I have corsair Ram, asus ROG mother board, an evga 2070 super when I bought my AL 120s for my AIO, my problem is that all 3 of the main software for controlling the RGB (armoury create, icue, and L connect) when I have all 3 installed windows freezes up randomly and needs a reboot to work for another couple days, if I dont have L connect installed everything works fine, don't know why but I'm just stuck with default rainbow on my fans

How is the noise level compared to noctuas? I mean around 700-1000rpm? Also do the fans make any specific annoying noise? For example the Arctic P12's are praised for their price performance ratio but for me they are unusable because of the annoying fluctuating howling noise they make when fans are running around 800rpm.

I am 100% certain they are basicly doing the same thing as corsair with daisy chaining and effects... I am therefore 100% certain an adapter can be made from the plug on the new SL FANS to a regular old 5v argb header plug and use the distribution board to bring the connection to the fans. And still work it with the little lian li controll box hidden close to the psu.... If i lived closer i'd offer to measure and make the adapters custom to size and spec on site for free

I have the OG's on my sons rig and they are still holding up great, he had "an issue" where 2 fans would be only red while the others were purple but it ended up being a loose cable connection.
I 'had' the AL on my current rig, but fortunately a friend had me do a build, so I preordered the Infinity fans for my rig and the AL's will find a new home with my friends PC.
I have had a single AL go rainbow mode while all of the others are white. Never figured out the issue, just reapplied color in L-Connect and it would be fine for several weeks until it would decide to go rainbow again.

I had that exact problem. I used the SL fans and I had to put the fittings onto the radiator first and then the fans press pretty hard against those fittings. I never had any issues with the 10 SL120's I have in my PC until I replaced one bank of 3x with AL120's and mixed the new and old controllers. I upgraded to L-Connect 3 which immediately prompted to update the firmware for both controllers and ended up killing the old SL controller. Luckily I had a spare control box for the SL and swapping it out fixed all the SL fans that lost their RGB and blade spin when the controller crapped out, but word of caution to anyone upgrading to LC3 with SL controllers, I would advise against upgrading the firmware for those first gen controller boxes.

I had 6 SL fans in my case at one point. One of the leds broke and wouldn't turn off of red. Then after a while I got 6 of the AL fans. One of them started to rattle constantly after 6 months. I could do a temporary fix by tapping the top of the fan, but it would never last very long. Then 2 months after that, the motor in another fan died, and it just stopped spinning. Luckily these fans have a 2 year warranty, so I was able to get both of my fans replaced pretty quickly. I've been happy with how quiet they are, and the rgb options. But I've been quite disappointed having 2 fans die within 8 months of purchase and install.

I bought 3 packs of the SL120s for my build last year. Since the build I have had 3 fans fail (2 right away and 1 was months later). I contacted Lian-Li and received 3 replacements without issue or additional cost. Didn't have to send the bad ones back either. My system was running the older version of the RGB software and it was pretty simple but I kept having my RGB reset on the MB. I upgraded to the version Jay used in this video and still had issues. Turns out it was the Gigabyte RGB software conflicting with the Lian-Li controller. Overall, I am happy with the fans, they do move a ton of air and I keep them just a static color. My only disappointment is now I want these fans. The new fans have more lights, the mirrors I can do without but the controller and less cables is a huge bonus and the ability to take the connecting feet off (yeah, interferes with my connectors too) are great. Anyway, I've been using Lian-Li products for many, many years and they hit a home run with these fans for sure!
