You could totally notice it through out the years when he started improvising the vocals on a lot of the songs. Now his new vocals are on point and he doesn't struggle when doing it live.

his screams on the sin and the sentence and what the dead man say are hella on point though, his live technique is also pretty sick when you're there. It sounds a bit weird when it is more isolated on his personal live streams though

I know he recorded TSATS with the old technique, but if you watch the WTDMS playthrough on Twitch that he reuploaded on TH-cam, he is using the new technique and it sounds somewhat close to what is heard on the record. This was painful to watch. Guitar sounds shrill and Matt is struggling big time. They've got it nailed now though. I remember after Ascendancy when Matt changed his voice. He took a long time to find his feet again. But kudos to him, he totally bounced back.
I agree that it didn't sound the best here, but i think the crusade and shogun songs do not fit with them anymore, Matt sangs with a very plain voice and lacks agression. The old vocals were not sustainable, but it was big part of what made Shogun great.
This is pre amp modelling software, so each gig is going to be reliant on the sound guy capturing the amp sound properly, which isn't always successful

Not going to lie the way the sound crew set these guys gig and rig was horrible,guitars off tune and the tone sounds direct with no cab 🗑️ Sweet Jesus lol I love these guys but this show was a mess lol Been a fan since Day 1 Embers to Inferno on Lifeforce records and this is definitely their prime,I miss these days where the 80’s thrash scene rubbed off on them showing off their Metallica influence.Actually met The band right after the show at the tour bus cool af in 08’s Townball Room Buffalo NY for the Shogun tour.This era was the most epic and shows full of intense energy! #BUFFALO #NEWYORK
