When I don’t answer a person it is because of past experience with them. Some I outright block on my phone. Also a big benefit of being independent is just that: the freedom and flexibility I have so I don’t tolerate nonsense.
Been a contractor over 30 yrs more help equals more loss imo the more help you take on the more the profit sinks along with the quality... Most all these issues are due to home owners playing games need more bids want cheep cost.. Let me tell you 1 simple slogan.. Cheep ain't good an good ain't cheep. 1 day maybe the home owner will realize all there doin is raising the cost with the disrespect they bring to the table
For me hiring help has been an impossible mission. The older guys are tapping out and the youngsters don't want to do any hard work. Also, I had a dream that all my customers sent nothing but text messages. Then I woke up and had 500 voicemails. I wish I could have kept sleeping. Another great video bro!
I sometimes forget to take my phone out of my truck when working on a job. But I can take calls and see text from my watch! I can actually talk on the phone with my watch hands free.
My phone is not glued to my body, especially when I am working. But if I am next to the phone, hands not full I answer. When I am done for the day, I always reply to customer texts and calls...
In the coming years and so on I think the trades are going to boom. It’s going to be like the housing market, lower supply of reliable contractors. That translates into prices/profits going higher. Nobody wants to work especially nowadays as is.
I do contract work and honestly if you're a non union employee the pay sucks and zero benefits provided. No young good helper will work for $15 an hour or even $20 an hour when they can make that at retail store where they just stock the store. When I give an estimate the customers always want the price lowered. They dont know the cost of the materials, the work itself, and time it takes to do the work properly/fix the previous work done they had done with another contractor. Its like the customers want you take make $20 an hour and be happy with that while having the responsibility/cost of having a business and if anything goes wrong then its out of your pocket at that price....
@@WildWestHills I've always let my customers know if I'm running late ahead of time. I'd be embarrassed if a customer had to call me asking where I'm at.

LOL I take it you don't do texts?. Literally over 90% of my business is thru text. Voicemails are such a hassle.
