I think you might be overthinking the Handyman name thing. There's nothing wrong with having "Handyman" in your business name. You just need to make it as clear as possible on your website, and on your ads what kind of services you are capable of offering so the customer sees it. Then once you have your foot in the door with that customer, as you're going to leave give them a business card and just say "Hey I just want to let you know I offer a ton of different services, It doesn't matter if it's plumbing, electrical, carpentry, blah, blah I can get it done for a good price". It's a good way to lock in customers for repeat business
Maybe call it something skilled services. My business is Crabtown Home Services because I saw this same thing happening when I started the company last year.
Definitely drop the handyman, A-Z repairman sounds better I’m a retiree when I got to Home Depot I snap photos of repairman vehicle’s so I have contacts when needed. Good luck, you sound honest 👍👍
The word handyman can also be a Benefit, when you change your name, your call volume will significantly drop. What you need to do is flip the customers you have already that trust you to upsell them to larger jobs. Make sure you are capturing emails through a crm system and then hit them with email marketing every week educating them on the large jobs you do. We turn 250 dollar jobs into 50k jobs all the time. Turn your lemons into lemonade.
Awesome video bro! Lol yea I and I r opposite. I love my small jobs. But I guess cus I know my end game is owning a bunch of rentals. U should definitely look into them.
I can feel your pain. Call yourself a home repair and home improvement expert. As for me, I don't advertise and have been growing my business by relying on word of mouth referrals from the quality of the work I do. My long established list of long term clients don't ask me anymore what I am, but ask me: Can you do this or that? Then I say yes or no.
I just changed my business name and added “contracting” in the name instead. Sounds more professional and that you’re capable of taking on bigger jobs.
To many of my customers handyman means cheap labor

If you don’t tell them, how would they know..all handymen have different skill sets.👍🏼
It’s unfortunate but I agree with you. The idea of what a handyman is is changing, but I didn’t have time to wait Lol. Great video
"Home Repair and Home Renovation Specialist"
Northern Peaks Maintenance, LLC here .
Perhaps "Home Construction Services" might work better. The word construction is used frequently as a key word search.
Like you videos but would like to see more repair videos. Thanks
Great video.
