Hi your channel is what I needed am stuck in a job that the money isn’t enough. I bought my mobile home as is and needs a lot of work/renovations so for 2 yrs I’ve been doing everything myself didn’t hire anyone because of the over charge am smart so I love working on my house and am dam proud when I get one piece of the puzzle done lol so I bought a new truck and I wanna start my own. Business but the fear been holding me back until I found your channel I don’t wanna be noisy but how much to charge a customer for that kind of job ?? I did my first handyman job for a neighbor I under charged the martials were more so I lost out alittle money and she wanted alittle extra but I didn’t charge her just for the materials you learn fast I had to go to the store 2 times and that’s time I rebuilt her steps came out good but I told her up front I wasn’t a professional carpenter am sure they how of charge her double I I love working with my hands I need more advice word of mouth I hope will get me going am 53 been around but I like the video camera the job I wanna do that because customers change there mind a lot and try to get a freebie lol lol am Joey am watching more DONT LET FEAR CONTROL YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joey my friend, this job was part of a bigger job. But if I was just painting the door, probably $1200.Since you're just starting out, ask other handyman in your area how much to charge for various jobs you get. Make it sound like you're a potential customer. You can also use the homewise.com to get the national average.
Those doors are no joke. I tried lifting the 80" and ripped my bicep loose back in July. Surgery and a brace for 3 months... It was a $12k mistake. I should have just paid someone to help.

I hope they paid you big bucks for a repaint. I make clients sign a form prior to painting. Make them accept a color they choose. Nice job.
I always get samples and put it in writing as well :). Learned the hard way

3 days to paint a door! And with a helper!
The red color took hours to dry in between coats. 2nd day just came back to put it on, couple of hours.
shouldn't you put a clear coat on top?

That second color paint was trash. The first one looked beautiful.
Ahhhhh man that behr alkylid stuff was pretty decent. The glidden paint is crap man.. it has its place for quick jobs and stuff but the glidden cheap stuff is junk.
It works, more durable than the bright red but not as smooth
