You know as a 10 year old i was convinced this was their origin story. As a 24 year old I'm still not entirely unconvinced it isn't.
Yeah Make Believe was actually their first album, then they kicked out Scott for the blue album and replace him with Matt then kicked Matt for Mikey, then kicked out Mikey for Scott. They also had to kick Bryan off after this album but then brought him back a couple days later to make the blue album.

In many ways, this is one of Weezer's best songs. Something about the guitar triggers feelings of loneliness. Even if there were no vocals you'd still know what the song was about

When the song first came out, it was everywhere. THey did OK with Perfect Situation. I always liked it.
This is their best song, in my opinion.

These lines are so amazing, they are the reasons why I love this song, they give me hope that I'm not the only one that faced to the same problem as Perfect Situation

I was at a concert in St. Augustine. They were throwing frisbees in the crowd for some reason. During this song, a frisbee went right towards the drummer. He caught it, put it in his teeth, and continued playing. Most epic this I've ever seen.

White Fresh prince Those albums are great, as with most of weezer’s music, but this song is just fantastic especially with the video. I wish they would’ve kept the original chorus instead of making it “pop-y”. Red, blue, and green are pretty solid albums.

The way I interpret this song is that at the beginning it's hard to tell who's show it is as they were both on the mic. Then it's clear that it's her show and that he's the one chasing her, feeling worried about not being enough for her. It's when she locks her self away that he takes it into his own hands to become the star of the show and that's when he's finally enough for her, as she comes out from being locked away to go to him. Focus on yourself and good things will come your way.

It sounds happy to me, but the lyrics are heartfelt and easy to empathize with, so I feel like they blend into a melancholy feel.

An anxious kid lack of confidence, girls are not an easy deal for him and when he finally gets somebody that he likes and she likes him back then he thinks he's not good enough for her and as a consequence he ends up losing her, he also doesn't appreciates her being with other guys but he just can't do anything for his lack of confidence, great song

This was my first Weezer song. I saw it when my 9th grade homeroom was allowed to put on MTV to pass the time. And this song came on. I loved it. Weezer quickly became my favorite band.
I find this music video and song inspiring. I like how by the end of the mv, the guy (real lead singer of Weezer) sings his heart out and is later recognized instead of continuing living under the shadows the leading girl in the mv. The lead girl singer obviously had charisma in her video, but she didn't felt genuine. The guy's (real lead singer of Weezer) performance in the mv felt sincere and real. Characters like him should be recognized instead of inconsiderate and vain people that believe fame comes from being mean and above others. Weezer is a great band! First song I ever listened to by them.

My first Weezer song was seeing Buddy Holly on the Windows 95 install CD, then forgot about it for a long time... then 10 years later, Make Believe came out and got me deep in!
Ha! My first Weezer experience was also Buddy Holly from the Windows 95 install disc. Loved them ever since. I also remember listening to Pinkerton for the first time and not liking it at all, but the more and more that I listened to it, it soon became my favorite - which it still is.
