My boyfriend who passed away a few weeks ago sang this song when we were at a bar doing karaoke one night. Since he sang it that night, I had been trying to figure out the name of it; I finally came across it tonight. The song has so much meaning to me. We were together for five years and were both young when he sung this song. Now I just watch the video of him in my phone when he sang this song that night at the bar, wishing he was still alive, wishing that we could go back in time to when we were young. R.I.P. Then fast forward to half you life over and look back and see all the missed moments and things to be ashamed of. You start to try to give younger people advice so they don't go down that path but you know they won't listen. The best things in life are often overlooked and mistreated for garbage and stress we just don't need. It's all self inflicted. Sometimes you can correct for history by making things right but most of the time all you can do is look back and wish you were a better person to the people around you.

Me and my son had tough times when he was young I was a single mum struggling but this song doesn’t remind me of those times. It reminds me of me and my boy playing guitar hero singing this song happy dancing it gives me shivers every time. I'm 26 now. I had heard of the killers song " are we human or are we dancer". Never heard this song until my break at work this afternoon. Caught myself laughing with joy over the memories in my teenage years from my first ever girlfriend to the times I'd be drinking in a field somewhere with my friends, while our parents believed we were having a sleepover. Hearing this in highschool is a religious experience. Hearing it again as an adult after all the heartbreak, that's a whole other level.
This is absolutely THE most poignant and captivating video for a song I have ever seen. She doesn’t speak a word, but her body and especially her eyes tell you her joy, her pain, and at the cross, she is asking “why?” when he is holding her. And yes, she is beautiful.

It's because Brandon Flowers was a tormented Mormon at the time. The dude was practically on fire, he was so conflicted. Add that to the fact that the band only makes Springsteen synth anthems, and you got a recipe for emotional overload (never a bad thing with these types of songs).

This was the very first killers song I heard. I remember listening to this on repeat one summer when I was younger. Songs meanings change as you get older and change. This song used to remind me of two friends I met at a summer camp (one of them was named Sam like Sam’s town). It’s crazy how much has changed since then but this song can take me back to being a little kid at a summer camp in dead July heat. I can still feel the way I felt then despite being completely different.

I got to see them perform at CoTa 2023 . And hear this song perform it was such an amazing experience. Even though I had recently lost my mom the following year beforehand. It made me remisce when I was a kid with a lot of memories.
