@@dabitat yeah, the non vvti rods are the same as the stock gte rods. The compression difference between the gte and the ge comes from the thicker 3 later metal head gasket on the gte. Hello Clayton! My name is Moe and I subscribed to your channel long ago as it is an AWESOME channel I must say! Really enjoy your knowledge as well as your energy and vigor. Not to be a bother but could you let me know what I would ABSOLUTELY need to get 350-370HP out of it? I'm a bit confused about Ecus and automatics as well as is it even ok to turbo this car with the mileage. I know I'm asking alot of your time. It's just that there is SO MUCH info out there but I really trust you and your knowledge! Thanks for any help. Cheers.
Hi Moe, that’s a very cool collection of cars you have. I just watched a video the other day on a full plug n play ECU for the Automatic is300. I think you’re right on the mark with 370hp for the rods and Automatic box, which will still be a very fast car and nearly double the HP. I may be getting an is300 soon to make videos, so please look out for that. Also if you go to the supravworld.com site you can see the turbo manifolds that will fit the is300. I also have a coil on plug kit nearly complete that will use R35 coils and fits under the stock intake manifold.

Hello and best regards from Poland. Recently I found your channel on TH-cam and I was very interested, as you know Poland, we have a country, Poles who are so themselves and not everything can be arranged immediately and find out everything. The 2JZ-GE engine has 345km/210 miles on odometer but I think the engine is less and was swapped at some point? This 2JZ does not have distributor and it does have Apexi afc piggy back? I want to turbo it without removing the engine? Or find the best way to rebuild and turbo a different 2jz-ge outside the car before I swap it back in? Thanks i look forward to your videos

Jonny Boost you’ll be able to still use your shift mode, and you’ll be able to pass emissions in the states if your cel light is off (not sure about visual) plus you can always run a piggyback or a stand-alone running in conjunction with the stock ecu (this will allow the stock ecu to still control the transmission)
Yes I may do a comparison video between 1jzgte & 2jzgte & 1uzfe. I will be creating a lot of material to do with the 1uzfe coming in the future. I will be doing a full build thread on a twin turbo 1uzfe into a Mk4 Supra
hey there i have a 1jz ge non vvti. and i understand that the non vvti 1jz's have the same pistons and rods as the 1jz gte. im wondering if the factory distributer is enough for crank pos. when tuning. from my understanding al i need to do for the 1jz ge non vvti to turbo it is the basic turbo/ mani/ and lines and tuning ... do i need to do anything special for a na/t for the 1jz non vvti? or can i just turbo it like a regular car.
Why not a 2jzge vvti block and head with 2jzge non vvti/2jzgte rods and pistons? That seems like the best bang for buck. Run e85 for big power to keep the heat out of the pistons for the lack of oil squirters and call it a win, ya?
The VVTI-GE MODEL IN LEXUS' IS300 CAN BE TURBO'D successfully but safely only up to 400hp plenty of guys have done it here in the U.S., NOW!!!! change out the rods from THE GTE and the engines capable of handling high horsepower seen up to 600-650HP stock. Obviously the 1jz as well as 2jzgte are monsters but with the price I'd mod the 2000-2005 GE engine. The 2j-GE is versatile even RAD DOM (BIGGEST 2JZ BUILDER IN THE U.S.) has stated its a versatile alternative. Though guys are swapping 1UZ's V8 are popular swaps now.

From the information I would go with a 2jz ge non vvti because the internals are stronger, but if you’re already changing them it won’t make a huge difference. You would have to additionally turbo the engine or convert from twin to single no matter what so.

@@dabitat yeah, the non vvti rods are the same as the stock gte rods. The compression difference between the gte and the ge comes from the thicker 3 later metal head gasket on the gte. So, if you can find stock gte pistons and rods, get those and a gte head gasket and you are essentially good to go. As long as you arent trying to make huge numbers. That should be solid for 500-600hp which is more than what most streetable cars need anyway
Anthony Leone hey man do you have a instagram? looking to build my 2jzge and want to ask u some questions
Hello Clayton! My name is Moe and I subscribed to your channel long ago as it is an AWESOME channel I must say! Really enjoy your knowledge as well as your energy and vigor. I'm an old bloke who now has 3 LEXUSs, a 98 GS400, 01 IS300 and 03 GS300. My question is regarding my IS. It is high mileage (200k) and an automatic.
@@supravworld8777 Thanks so very much! I have a bunch of colleagues that own LEXUSs as well so you'll probably be getting some business lol. I'll continue to watch all of your vids as they're extremely helpful and you really seem to be really in love with these cars which is awesome! Please keep up the great work and again thank you for the speedy response!
You said blocks were the same bar the turbo drain, what about the (lack of) oil squirters on GE block, also the 1JZ Vvti variant has single turbo not twins. No mention of having to modify oil gallery for 1.5J build.
great vid. suggestion for an option 4, 2jzge vvti. would and stock 2jz gte ecu be suficient for a 2jzge vvti +tt
I will be going with the 1.5jz option. Will I need a non vvti 1jz head or vvti? I have a non vvti 2jz ge now. Thanks for the informational video
If you have a 92-95 sc300/ non turbo Supra then you have the 2jzgte bottom end with ge head. After 95 they switched to vvti, thinner connecting rods and weaker rings.
If you are putting a thicker headgasket on your 92-95 ge and put new valve stems with arp headstuds then you’re able to run up to 20 psi of boost reliably. Tell me how I know, I own a boosted 92 sc300
Actually after 97 is when they switched to vvti
Aleph Null you’re right, I read somewhere it was 92-95 when figuring out my na-t build
Hello and best regards from Poland. Recently I found your channel on TH-cam and I was very interested, as you know Poland, we have a country, Poles who are so themselves and not everything can be arranged immediately and find out everything. And the Internet knows information from all over the world and everything is available I must admit that I do not sit well on the topic of 2JZ Ge and 2JZ GTE engines, I know the differences between these engines, I have a lot of information about these engines, but there is always something missing and there are many ambiguities, inaccuracies. . which solution would be the simplest and I do not hide the cheapest ... greetings Sebastian
I'm wondering if everything also applies to 1jz ge and gte engines
Says Chaser but shows a MARK II. Also the VVTI 1JZGE was before '97. What about the fact that 1JZ head might bolt onto 2JZ but the oil feed doesn't line up?
Specifically aristo jzs147 and 161
can you use 2jz gte vvti cams on a 2jz ge vvti
subbed WHERES THE VIDEO MYGUY BECAUSE IM GOING TO THE JUNKYARD AND GRABBING THE BLOCK AND HARNEss.
In todays times a GTE is $7500 cheapest versus some people saying $6500 for their NA-T
Great Video! OKay I have a 2002 Lexus Is300 5 Speed W55 coverted from Auto with M98 LSD.
If you have a 2jzge VVTI then youll want to think twice about adding a turbo. The rods are known to fail before 450rwhp.
@@shadyshinichi2JZ I just wanted to aim for 300rwhp? Less than 10 psi setup. I am starting to be committed to this car...
@ SUPRA VWORLD Great vid!! I have a ? So I have a 2005 Lexus GS300 with the tip tronic Manuel mode, I want to swap in a GTE and still be able to use the tip tronics. Which 2JZ-GTE engine would be the best to swap into my car? Thx!
Go single turbo and keep your stock ECU
Use the aristos 2jz
Dhat Lex is there a by benefit of doing it that way over the swap?
Jonny Boost you’ll be able to still use your shift mode, and you’ll be able to pass emissions in the states if your cel light is off (not sure about visual) plus you can always run a piggyback or a stand-alone running in conjunction with the stock ecu (this will allow the stock ecu to still control the transmission)
That’s the set up I’m currently running check my videos out
One thing I notice in your video, you didn't mention if you could wire in or use the VVti. Could you elaborate on this?
Can u do a video on the 1jzgte none vvti
Yes I may do a comparison video between 1jzgte & 2jzgte & 1uzfe.
I will be creating a lot of material to do with the 1uzfe coming in the future.
I will be doing a full build thread on a twin turbo 1uzfe into a Mk4 Supra
The 2jzgte it's all you see video on new content 1jzgte none vvti not much 1uz not much .2jzgte millions
Thank you
hey there i have a 1jz ge non vvti. and i understand that the non vvti 1jz's have the same pistons and rods as the 1jz gte. im wondering if the factory distributer is enough for crank pos. when tuning.
from my understanding al i need to do for the 1jz ge non vvti to turbo it is the basic turbo/ mani/ and lines and tuning ... do i need to do anything special for a na/t for the 1jz non vvti? or can i just turbo it like a regular car.
Why not a 2jzge vvti block and head with 2jzge non vvti/2jzgte rods and pistons? That seems like the best bang for buck. Run e85 for big power to keep the heat out of the pistons for the lack of oil squirters and call it a win, ya?
ecu options
@@baazigaj9125 explain
Though guys are swapping 1UZ's V8 are popular swaps now.
for 1.5jz which oil galary we should drill for swap 1jz head and which is cheap swap?
the (only one) that supplies the head
build the na-t hands down from a base
So you’re telling me I can’t turbo my gs300 without spending a lot of money?
Question: Can I swap a is300 2jzge-vvti cylinder head on my 2JZGTE-VVTI aristo?
Yes
Can I turn my ge into a gte??
So, please tell me what 2jz should I put in my bmw e36?
2jz ge non vvti
2jz ge vvti
2jz gte non vvti
2jz gte vvti.
Which one should I buy to start my project?
I am going to change internals anyway.
I want to make 600hp +.
Thanks.
From the information I would go with a 2jz ge non vvti because the internals are stronger, but if you’re already changing them it won’t make a huge difference. You would have to additionally turbo the engine or convert from twin to single no matter what so.
If you want some real fun do the 3UZ V8 SWAP...... ALOT OF INFO AS WELL AS mod parts online for this.
In/ex valve its same size?
No
Here I'n the USA the 2JZ GTE is $7500 to $10000 USD
Screw those engines swap the rods and have some fun.... hell the STOCK GE-NA Turbo'd will pump 400 out of it.
2:13 thats not a chaser its a mark ii
Man I have a 2JZGE VVT -i 👎🏾
naah bra @Andrew, look for non vvti rods and pistons of gte, single turbo maybe 3076 and a stand alone ecu...you be better than all 3 options listed.
This is why you don't take info off the internet and try to make a video if you have not gone thru the process. Half of his info is wrong and this video gets a thumbs down.
I have built a 2jzge NA-t. It’s sitting in my garage right now. I even fabricated my own turbo exhaust manifold for the ge head and have spent hundreds of hours working on these engines.
Who are you? Please explain what information is incorrect!
@@supravworld8777 SUPRA VWORLD Nothing in this video was incorrect though you misssed critical parts of information when talking about certain topics or you threw it in somewhere else. There was to many to list so im not going to give you an example for that because if you know this stuff you should of worded it better and taken your time with a video such as this.
Saying you have a 2jz-ge turbo (NA-T) and spent 100's of hours does not mean you know what your talking about i have seen plenty of misinformed people bulding engines....
There is plenty of info out there and you clearly need to learn more about the 2jz-ge vvti variant because it is far more superior then a 2jz-ge non vvti. Especially when aplying boost!
@@supravworld8777 @SUPRA VWORLD Not to metion the fact a 2jz-Gte means twin turbo. Any 2jz-Ge with a turbo (NA-T) is most likely a single turbo otherwise you may aswell buy a 2jz-Gte but for cost to power ratio with (higher hp) your better off with a 2jz-Ge and a single turbo unless you own a 2jz-Gte equipped car already. So IMO the higher the hp your looking for the better off you will be building a 2jz-Ge into a 2jz-Ge-T (NA/T) over a 2jz-Gte.
@@bobbyoghee9124 please tell me you're trolling because you sound ridiculous. The 2jzge VVTI is the weakest version of the 2jz platform due to its smaller connecting rods. You are limited to around 400rwhp before it breaks. If you are building one of these engines you do not want the GE VVTI version.
@@shadyshinichi2JZ Hahaha are you serious.Trolling lol...? if your staying factory there are many better engines out there....If you want a modified 2jz all you need to do is swap the con rods and head gasket on a ge to turbo it and its cheaper then buying a gte and going single turbo state some facts or gtfo.
Non vvti ge is the best engine.
So just buy a gte engine and slap it in to a is300
1:50 stop saying nonsense like this some people only want 300hp so the vvti is just fine for that
