You go where others fear to tread. Those canyons are epic and Behind the Reef Road is a little rough. Thanks for sharing. 😀😀😀😀😀👍👍👍👍👍

This one is intimidating and rightfully so. The first attempt I did 3 years ago I ran out of time very near the summit after cliffing out a few timea so stopped there as the light waned. Made for a GREAT Sunset though, LOL. I was biking back to the truck in complete darkness and feared missing it!

Incredible cinematography once again, Karl. Love your videos! One of my favorite places to go in Utah, I love the remoteness.

Thanks for taking me on another gorgeous Utah adventure. I've added this one to my "to do" list. Getting me excited for a January visit to Southern Utah!

You love it! I would highly recomend getting the Road Trip Ryan app to guide you. It is GREAT, way less stress and there is definitely some stress between the climbing and the crazy route finding. Enjoy Brother!

@KarlDeckerPresents thanks for the beta. I'll definitely get the app (and just started following him on TH-cam yesterday, coincidentally).

Great update and so beautiful! Using your earlier video as a guide, I climbed this in May (along with Pinnacle 1 and a failed attempt on Temple Mountain earlier the same day). I noticed that you hadn't gone to the true summit once I was on top- now you've got there, congrats!

So cool you saw both, this one went WAY smoother, I was running out of light on that first attempt! and that would have been so sketch in the dark! I was NUTZ to climb Temple unroped, the way up was scary and the down climb, OMG, thought about updating my will before heading down! Glad you bailed on it. Not worth it without a rope and some gear. I just LOVED pinnacle 1, may have to revisit sometime. If you ever have something like it you want a buddy for drop me a line.

Hey that's my camp trailer you drove by at 2:28 (the first one)! That's my son standing behind our trailer watching his dog.

Awesome! This is the vantage point I was hoping to see in the first one. Your route seemed a little more straightforward this time, but that 'easy' class 5 move is I think the exact spot that turned me back when I tried it years ago. Still not sure I would have the balls to get up there, but it is stunning up there and I would love to have another go at it. Yeah that's Wildhorse Butte. Thanks for this revisit!

Very cool you saw the first one, I went the wrong way many times on that trip and it was sketchy! Even taking the right way it was still tricky and pretty gnarly where you stopped. A few more spots like that further up BUT, not quite as tough but that is the worst of it. Lots more route finding the whole way. Definitely leave LOTS of time for the descent, doing any of it in waining light would be super dangerous. Even the gully, as you know. . .

Yea, it was tough route-finding using that ridge, looked like your gully route was smoother sailing this time. I could have done Temple, but I was pulling way too hard on questionable holds. I'll let you know any future Utah plans. Based in San Diego, this season I'm doing a bunch of desert hikes in CA, AZ, and NV. Will hit Deertrap and the Watchman in Zion in April or May. Year after, I'll probably head back out towards the Swell...

I live in Castle Dale and have never even heard of this, where can I find more daytrips like this?

Road trip Ryan website and app have all you'll need to know for MANY great adventures in the area! Well worth the $ to buy the app, strongly recommended.

Beautiful scenes of the Swell and so many classic tunes in this video too, well done. Is climbing Factory Butte still in your future plan?

Thank you, I just love Punch Deck and was super excited to use his new release for this, Drop the Hammer! I do want to "climb" Factory but I have NO PLANS of summiting it. I have done through research and OMG that final loose vertical crown sounds like a death wish and only climbed but a few super Awesome and crazy climbers. . . Soo cool though, I want to check it out up close even if it does mean swimming up a stream of flowing rock!
