Man I hear that alot from people who haven't served. Man I would enlist but I would punch a drill Sgt if they got in my face. Man I don't join for fear knowing I would go to jail.
I gave a drill a black eye once, I was on KP and moving pretty fast in the chow hall carrying 2 racks of silverware, and this drill was walking the other way, neither of us was looking where we were going , and my head contacted his face. I just went to parade rest/at ease best I could while he held his face for about 20 seconds , it was tense because he was one of "meaner" ones. I asked "Are you OK Drill Sergeant?" He finally said, "Just get the "F***" away from me Private!!" And off I went . :) . He had a shiner for a few days.

I went to Basic in January of 2023 and the female drills are the scariest in my experience but i had a short buff male drill sergeant who still scares the shit outta me. I miss BCT not gonna lie I learned alot about myself from it and I became better so thank you to the Army!
