Reminds me of a guy that popped hot and blamed another guy, NCIS raided their non-base housing with zero warrants and claimed cigarette butts were drug paraphernalia. Then JAG said legally he isn't allowed to sue them and he said that is fine my wife will. Ended in admin sep and $500k settlement.
My service records show that when I was in Iraq my sergeant recommended me for court martial for disobeying an illegal order. Of course nothing came of his threat but the fact he documented his incompetence and made it a part of my permanent record is nothing short of hilarious

mps may have a higher brain cell count then the average infantry man but not by much.
MPs have 2-3/4 brain cells
Infantry have 2 that are constantly fighting with each other and drinking copious amounts of liquor.
It's true, but the extra one or 2 is negated by the sheer mass of redbull consumed.
I heartily disagree with this statement. As a Veteran Paratrooper (Airborne Infantry, for those that don't know) we have 1 brain cell, and are issued additional ones depending on the task at hand.

The MP's here sound like every suspect i've seen in a real life police interrogation trying to explain why they are innocent or why they were justified.
Ah, I never realized that I'd miss MPs until they deployed most of them and brought DOD police in to cover. 😁 The ones I dealt with were far worse than any MP I met.
There's two kinds of DoD police. The ones with no real police or military experience who go overboard writing tickets and hassling service members. The ones like myself with 6 years Army Military Police and 22 years of real world police experience (retired State Police Trooper) see this job as a stepping stone to a second gov't retirement check before age 60. I work at a smaller Navy base and we have both kinds in my department.
@@ivanlowjones My experience was mainly in the 2000s. I got out in '09. At the time, it seemed that the majority of experienced officers were being scooped up as OCONUS contractors. Sadly, as with most police encounters, we only see them when something is wrong and it warps our perception a bit.
I just noticed that my soldiers were getting tickets a lot more than they were previously with no warnings. Headlight out, first time being pulled over? Ticket. We had one hassle us on a range during blackout drive training. It resolved itself outside of my purview so I don't really have more information but it was a mild nuisance. 😁
In civilian life, most of my encounters with police have been positive but I've had a much larger sample size to pull from. I just didn't have enough encounters with DOD that were positive to form a realistic picture.
Apologies if I gave an unfair generalization. Most of my comment was meant in jest coming from a nugget of truth. Obviously I'm not much of a comedian given that my comment was far funnier to me than others. 😁

No worries, amigo. We had a couple young hard chargers who couldn't wait to grab a radar set to go out and write tickets. Myself and a couple other old head officers just look at them and shake our heads. The biggest adjustment I had was realizing how different military policing is from civilian LE. Rank means everything on a Navy base. Senior enlisted and officers seemingly get free passes. We have a Lt. Commander/0-4 who has been arrested for domestic violence on base at least 3 times and is still in the Navy. A Chief Petty Officer/E-7 was caught on camera shoplifting at the NEX. He's still in the Navy and still a CPO. Oh well, at least I'm a GS-8 and we make a ton of overtime and in 5 years, I'll be vested and can retire with my second retirement check.

MPs on Benning once gave my buddy a speeding ticket for going one mile above the speed limit...

Fort Benning MPs pulled me over on Dixie road by the Engineers DFAC for "failure to maintain" because my wheel touched the yellow line near the gas station. They then proceeded to have 8 cars show up with all their lights on and breathalyze me at 3am and I blew a zero. They then proceeded to keep me there sitting in my car then coming up and asking me one question at a time, then walking away to confer with each other. The last thing the Staff Sargent that was I assume the highest ranking person there said to me before they let me go was "you need to learn how to drive". I then finally got to go back to my barracks and sleep.
I had a rent a cop pull me over on Benning for driving without my lights on when it was daylight. It was early morning, but the sun was already fully out. Should have made a run for it. He looked like he weighed at least 350 lbs.

As usual, all missing equipment that can't be sold or used by civilians is most likely sitting in the supply room or still in the system being used by another unit.
The tale of the radio with two bodies.
Fort Bragg is an interesting place. Once upon a time there were a SERIES of captains who trusted their subordinates to do the right thing. When they took command of this one unit they inventoried nigh. They inventoried low until they got to this one particular radio. Each time the captain said show me the radio whereupon the HR holder would hold out the green copy of the work order and say it's in the shop sir. The same thing would happen on the monthly sensitive items report when whatever lucky lieutenant would get stuck with that warm bucket of spit of a job.
Eventually a smart colonel looked at the the maintainence report and asked how is it that this radio has been in the shop for years and why isn't it showing up on the report? "Well, um you see sir" "Bullshit show me the GD radio captain!" Well this caused great consternation in the land of First COSCOM and much digging and searching throughout all the nooks and crannies of said battalion and their was much unhappiness in the land. Much was found. Things that we weren't supposed to have were found. Things that HR holders swore up and down that they didn't have were found but alas no radio with that particular serial number was found within the unit.
Eventually it was found in Korea. You see it had been turned in excess to the unit to the installation property book office and moved through the supply chain to Korea. The property book office had FAILED to remove the radio from the unit HR and the supply sergeant had lost the turn in document. How he got a HR copy of an old completed work order is still a mystery but the repair shop had maintained records that showed that the item had been picked up years ago. Amazingly no one was relieved of command or duty or even given UCMJ. The moral of the story is DON'T EVER toss records of transfer of sensitive property...EVER and your chain of command will happily throw you under the bus to save one of their fellow brother officers if they can get an enlisted guy to be their patsy.

I once signed for 50 million dollars in excess Brigade supplies for 1 year. When I left that unit I owed and paid $1.49 for a pistol lanyard that I stole.

I really feel for army MPs. They have to sit on their asses 8 to 12 hours a day, wearing that heavy MP vest that they are NEVER allowed to take off. They usually end up eating fast food because they don't have time to eat a full meal. So basically they are forced to get no exercise, eat crap food, and be uncomfortable all day, ever day, for years. No wonder they're always sad
Not to mention off days don’t exist and a lot of the MP leadership is toxic

If you think civilian police are hated…. Take that, and multiply it by about 100, and there’s where the MPs rate on the scale of hatred.
