Simracing is difficult. Learning how to drive fast takes time, dedication and persistence. Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the best simulations with highly sensitive aerodynamics that want to be respected. Telemetry, such as motec helps with analyzing car behavior and finding major issues in the car setup or driving style. Special sim racing hardware also helps with becoming better, but certainly is not the solution to your problems. Load cell pedals offer better feel. Stronger but most importantly more detailed force feedback of e.g. direct drive wheels offer more immersive sensations. Though I know and I've seen throughout the years, people with entry level hardware perform on top level. Also watch my latest video here: www.tubebuddy....
It’s crazy how many people like ams2 now! This is great for the community I’m really glad they listened and made necessary changes . Now the online aspect needs a hard looks
AMS2 is with AC the only sims where i enjoy just doing laps on my own, without the need of racing. Its just a joy to drive a car on a track with it. I'll definitely try the RX cars, but the others are keeping me busy for a while now!

You nailed it by describing it as "instant connection" and what's possible at/over the limit. That's the core of sim racing joy. Such clear statement from you has weight!
The RX cars are amazing, but all the cars now with the 1.5 physics/ffb simply feel amazing. Crank up the min FFB to 2 and the effect to 45 and you will get nice subtle surface details...
You can change the AI controlling you in the pits thing in the Gameplay/Authenticity settings, I believe it's the "Manual Pitstops" setting needs to be turned on. Then it's 100% player controlled :)
Great video, I've been really enjoying thrashing these cars around too! I feel like the AI need a bit of tuning in the RX races as they're a bit slow and act a bit weird, but I'm sure after a few updates that'll be sorted.

This is the best experience I have ever had not only in sim racing but in VR period. Reiza should do a full rally game. I'm afraid that we will all be disappointed in WRC23 after trying this.
Totally agree. I do play some iRacing as well and it just feels kinda mushy by comparison. AMS2 felt sharp and connected. Super impressed. AI is a bit wonky so I hope we get some good multiplayer going on these cars. BTW you can just run them on normal tracks and drift the hell out of them.

I have a DOF reality seat mover, and in the dirt tracks it is so frickin awesome because the jumps feel like you are jumping and the impact of landing is so good. This game has awesome motion support and am finally digging the way the cars handle after 1.5 update. Keep it up!!!
Awesome DLC, the 1.5 update has really brought this sim to life. The RallyX cart is great fun too.
Just watching this it looks like you can feel everything the car is doing and you are responding to how the car is reacting. It looks amazing to drive.

AMS2 literally is a big chunk of high density carbon being more and more grinded into a diamond... and it already shows its qualities. As much as I love ACC, AMS2 is the better driving experience overall, it just lacks a proper platform for motivating online racing... but as far as I know more and more small community leagues are emerging... Reiza's persistance pays more and more off.
Nice driving. Purchased it. Needs more brake glow, rooster tails and tire smoke.
They forgot to put Subaru STI RX, but kept Lancer Evo that not in production anymore😂

BeamNG and AMS2, and little bit of AC is only sims i love to drive!
Beam has most realistic rally possible..and doing Gymkhana style stunts there is absolute bonkers!
If only BeamNG had VR! I love it on my motion rig... AMS2 is just amazing now in VR with motion with these rally cars. It is a damn shame the Subaru isn't in there. Maybe later on I hope :)

@@razzor4708 The Rallycross cars in this game seem to older World RX cars. The newest car is from 2016 iirc. Maybe a 2nd batch of newer RX cars would be awesome

I already tried it. The response of this car, the feeling, it's above rally games. Still needs a fair comparison to iRacing's dirt series, but for this measly price? Yeah. Nothing comes close.

Try the longest version of the Speedland kart track with a rally car. It's like an improvised Special Stage.

@@SimracingPopometer Speedworld kart reminds me of the Barcelona WRC special stage, just without the donuts around bales. Buskerud is fantastic though, I wish they'd make an RX version of it, especially given how well the middle sector flows.
growing up playing those indy car and nascar sims plus f1gp2... realy cemented the way of what i expect in a sim game and how i want to play. new race, pick car, pick track, race. No team management and amount of liveries will ever change that. And ive sunken days into those games. Unlike today where we measure playtime in hours.
Also, rally cross realy could use its own game by now. Its got all the content irl. Many tracks, the cars are fun, plus its way different content than regular simracing as in f1, gt3/4, rally on a narrow track.
I could/would totaly buy into, just for the same reason i picked AMS2 - not the same content as acc or a rally game. I missed some of Toca fun, so i decided to try it out - brazilian stock cars are my jam in this one. Lets see how they made rally to drive. Truck racing is the only thing i didnt like in ams - handling wise. Reiza keeps suprising us.
So much fun right? They really knocked it out of the park with the RX (and other dirt cars) in this AMS2 update.

Absolut richtig Nils!! Die ganze Fahrphysik in AMS2 ist genial. Ich bin von ACC gewechselt, weils einfach soo viel mehr Spaß macht. Ich fahre mit full-motion rig und die Nordschleife damit zu fahren ist genauso geil wie in echt. Es ist unfaßbar gut

I re-installed Steam because it would not open. Just discovered I have to re-install all the games 🤦♂ AMS2 will have to wait until the weekend.

I still love dirt 2.0 better as you could play championship with your friend and qualify to the final and all that, doesn't matter if its less simulator, no need to stress yourself to be a esporter and push yourself to the limit, sometimes you just want to have fun intense races with your friends
yeah sometimes gameplay can outweigh physics.
but now in ams2 the driving is just great - really rewarding

You can turn off being driven out of the pits by disabling automatic pit-stops and cinematic pit-stops in Gameplay.

I actually get more texture from AMS2 now, going back to RF2 it feels a bit too smooth. But I think a lot of these perceptions are down to FFB settings and personal preference.
Drives great, especially Crosskart, but I was a little underwhelmed with the experience after playing Dirt Rally all morning.
AI is super slow off-road. Max difficulty isn't challenging enough.
The sound effects need a LOT of work, hopefully something a hotfix will address soon.
The RX tracks have a joker lap, but "joker laps" don't seem to be implemented yet.
Lacking options to create a real rallycross event.
as far as I can tell AI is yet to receive updates for that
I think if you choose the rally cross rule preset the joker laps work as expected...

You know what I mean? It feels so connected, that I think there is too much room to push a car without failing. I never had that before in simracing. it‘s almost like simcade but on highest level. But maybe it‘s closer to reality.

Monaco in RX cars for me is the Best One
For me it didn't ring any bells, because of such an "empty" FFB, specially after rF2/ACC/AC and even iR. So it just can't transfer all that physics features and improvements into my hands.
Anyway glad for AMS progress so far. It's always a good news for simracing community, when developers spent some effort to evolve tyre model and physics in general.

You may need to reset your ffb profile, they made some updates to it a while back that required a reset
There must be something wrong with your system, because AMS2 has by far the best FFB of all sim titles out there.

Does h shift rally cars exist for this game or are they all sequential?
Ich habe RX in AMS2 heute ausprobiert (Polo RX in Spa) und war leider ziemlich unterwältigt. Dazu muss man sagen: Ich hab Rallycross bisher ausschließlich in Dirt Rally 2.0 gespielt, und dem Titel wird von Kritikern ja gerne vorgehalten, es hätte zu viel Grip. Ich finde jedoch, dass AMS 2 hier für mein Empfinden deutlich zu viel Grip hat. Selbst auf den Dirt-Abschnitten lässt sich das Auto nur mit "Gewalt" quer stellen und dann hat man auch ganz schnell snap oversteer. Im Vergleich dazu kann ich in DR das Auto schön im Drift über den Kurs tanzen lassen.
Auch wenn man echte RX-Videos mit Gameplay-Videos von DR und AMS vergleicht, ähnelt das generelle Verhalten der Fahrzeuge in DR2 meinem Empfinden nach eher der Realität, während AMS2 auf mich eher den Eindruck von Tourenwagen auf dreckigen Strecken vermittelt.
Und ich weiß, unter Hardcore-Simmern ist es verpönt, aber Fakt ist: DR2 bietet hier einfach mehr Adrenalin durch Sound und Grafik, während AMS2 doch recht nüchtern daherkommt.
"Simcade" hin oder her: Ich treffe mich wochenends immer mit einem alten Freund online in einer privaten DR2-Lobby, und 1-2 Stunden steigen wir beide nassgeschwitzt und happy aus unseren Rigs. Dafür hat DR2 einfach das richtige Level an Kirmes drumherum. 🙂

Ich hab das gestern mal getestet. Ist nicht schlecht. Sicher besser im Vergleich zur release Version. Dennoch bleib ich was gt3 Fahrzeuge betrifft dann doch lieber bei ACC und Rfactor2. Ich mag mal frech behaupten, ams2 hat seine Stärken zurecht in vielerlei hinsicht an anderen Stellen. Meine pers. Meinung
acc hat da glaube ich auch mehr oder weniger exclusiven zugang zu daten von SRO, pirelli und den teams. das ist schwierig zu machen, wenn man mit weniger auskommen muss. also gut vorstellbar dass in sachen GT3 ACC das Maß der Dinge bleibt
As a very casual racer, I didn't really care much about the issues the pros had with this title before this update. But trying some of the cars post update, I can definitely see the improvement.

The AI automatically leaving the PIT automatically is because of your settings... mine doesn't do that. I have "start" on manual and pit on "manual" settings

What am I missing here? i bought the adreline pack part 1, are there other rallycross dlcs or mods? The handling is sadly terrible, and everything is sequential. Even AC does rallycross better with mods and that game doesnt even have gravel physics and handles jumps poorly. I tried so hard to like this, tune etc. I must be missing something?
Maybe ive tuned something wrong, ive tried default and a bunch of other settings. Tried all cars, all tracks. It's just bad?

i dont think they have old rallycross cars yet.
its unfortunate you have a bad experience, i haven't driven in a while but i doubt it will have gotten worse since I did this.

@@SimracingPopometer simagic alpha mini with gtr wheel, i have not been able to find good settings for simpro manager 2, since it’s new software all guides are outdated now. So the FFB is definitely bad, I did download a customffb file but still off.

Multiplayer läuft eigentlich gut und man sollte jetzt nicht mehr zwischen den Sessions hängen bleiben, was das Hauptproblem war. Racecraft und Justrace gibt's auch für AMS2, machen halt nur nicht genug mit. Dafür ist nichts einfacher als AMS2, wenn man Rennen selber hosten will, wenn genug MBits durch die Leitung gehen...

It feels floaty and slidy on high speed straights. What's the deal with that
it's a rally cross car with several times the suspension travel of a GT car, grooved tires and next to no downforce, that's what they will do in a straight at high speed
I know this game is getting a lot of love with this update, but i still think the handling is a slidey mess on my fanatec dd1
