Thank you for making this video! I just started crocheting and I’ve been making crooked dish cloths for nearly two weeks. I couldn’t figure out why and I’ve watched other videos that didn’t show what I was doing wrong.. I was missing the turning chain at the ends like you explained. Mine are usually on the sides and looking freaky, but I made my first straight dish cloth this morning 😅 Now I’m off to attempt a blanket

I am so excited because with all of the things I have made since the pandemic began, I could NEVER get a straight edge on a scarf. I just started on a scarf as a Christmas gift and I thought I'd be using DC, but instead I went with a HDC, and only a single chain after putting in a stitch where I don't know if I did that before or not, but I have at least 24" of straight edges on both sides of the scarf I'm making. I am over the moon with this. I was never a math genius and the things I make aren't to be sold, so gauge is not something I worry about, mostly because I use the same yarn, just different colors and I couldn't be happier at this moment.

  • @annhaynesparker

So helpful, even for those of us with experience! I actually made a slightly v-shaped blanket when finger crocheting with BERNAT Big Blanket Yarn for the first time. I told my grandkids it's called a fishtail blanket that lets them have more room at the bottom!! Luckily, it was evenly off on both sides!

I have made some projects but some of them have straight edges and some of them don’t. I’m going to keep practicing my crocheting. I do great when I start crocheting and then when I get to the last stitch, I struggle so next time, I’ll know what to do.
