i am so far behind in my projects but I have had a new granddaughter that I made a blanket (one of your patterns, Mikey) and an outfit for her and now I'm making a blanket for my son-in-law and i remembered you had this tutorial for straight edges. Thanks Mikey!!

Thank you so much for sharing this tutorials. I have had this problem many time. Now I can get a clean edge with single and half double crochet. This is wonderful, you explain this in terms that make since to me. I love the informal tutorials you do. I am not a formal class room student. Thanks again

Thank you, for the easy non-technical instructions! I make this mistake - still after crocheting for over 30yrs myself. Thanks, again!

I think this has happened to a lot of us starting out. I know i have had wonky edges and edges that looked o.k. now i have a better understanding of how to keep things straighter. It definitely will have better end result. Love youtube. I'm ready to move on from SC but I want to do that good before learning new stitches. Thank you for a new approach to this.

No wonder I keep making triangles! Thanks for the instructions. Hopefully I'll get a straight edge now.

I'm a beginner &, I can't remember who, but someone on TH-cam recommended doing it this way, so I've pretty much only done this, so I haven't had issues with my edges! I've only worked with single crochet (US) so far, so I'm not sure if I'm gonna have problems with the other stitches... Thanks for sharing!

I did an afghan in sc only years ago. It took me three, yes three, months to finish plus a border.

Aha! That's why the two stitches begin differently once you turn. Mystery solved. I love the idea of calling the double crochet stitches "buildings."

Hi. I just tried this and it’s wonderfully straight. However it seems like the first stitch is slightly higher than the single crochet. I’ve only worked and dozen or so rows and want to be sure it won’t come out distorted. I’m making a blanket with size 6 yarn. Thanks

Single crochet you don’t make 3 stitch chain, just 2? And you go into the first hole? Single stitch okay to use for a blanket?
