I certainly hope this helped you understand how I extended the shifter and the brake pedal. Good luck with the project man. You're really going to like it.

How did you extend the shifter and brake

@@raywaz5237 hey thanks for watching the video and checking out the channel. I extended them both using wrenches. I cut a 3-inch section of I believe it was a half inch or 9/16 wrench handle and then I cut the rear brake put lever in half about 3 inches behind the square on the end of the lever that you push with your foot and welded that section of wrench handle in. And on the shifter use a 3/8 inch wrench heated up with my torches and bent it in a 90° angle. Then I took the shifter stud off the shift lever. Then I used a bolt and bolted it to the shift lever then I welded it also. I hope that helps. Please remember to like And subscribe tell your friends about the channel also. Your motorcycle is great, how or where the footrests are sold and another question, do you have a tutorial? I just bought a Virago, it is my first medium-high displacement motorcycle

Hey thanks for checking out the channel and watching the video.I'm glad you like the way the bike turned out, I'm pretty happy with it myself. I didn't really make a step-by-step tutorial video this video gives you a general idea what I had to do to make it all work. it wasn't really very hard, you just have to drill out the hole where the peg goes through on the floorboard mount. I'm talking about 1 inch thick solid steel Mount that comes with the footboards. there's a 5/16 hole in it, it needs to be drilled out to 3/8 of an inch. Then when you mount it on the bike you have to shim out the original footpeg mounts for the Virago. I'm talking about the mount with two Bolt holes that came off the Virago. this foot Peg it has to be shimmed out about a half inch on both sides . then it's just a matter of extending the brake pedal and the shifter. the brake pedal I extended 3 inches and I use the handle of a wrench to do it. I cut the brake pedal in half couple inches before the square on the end of the brake pedal and then i welded in a 3-inch piece of wrench handle. I believe it was a half inch or 9/16 wrench, use a wrench that is about the same size as the arm of the brake pedal. then on the shifter side I used a 3/8 wrench I took the shifter Peg off the shifter, and bolted the Box end of the wrench to the shifter where the Peg went . I also welded it so it wouldn't move or come apart . then I took my torches and heated the wrench in the middle , and bent it in a 90° angle. and that's about it , if you have any more questions about it please get in touch with me . as far as the footboards go I bought them off eBay I think they're about 50 dollars. I hope this helps you out and get you going. thank you for subscribing to the channel . please share it with your friends, and thanks again, ride safe, and live life Behind Bars.
