    Oh how fun to have sewing room improvements! It's almost as fun as fabric stroking. Clipping your pattern instructions up off the table is genius! Enjoy your lovely new space.

      It's so nice! Gives me a much clearer head for creating but I'm not sure how long it'll stay this tidy 😆 thank you!

    I made clear vinyl covers for my machine, was super easy and I love seeing them “out”.

    That was so satisfying to watch! If only it was that quick in real life to tidy up 🤪

      If only 😂 and if only it stayed this tidy forever, it took me less than a week to make a mess again 🤦❤️

    The sewing space looks lovely and so inspiring! Your fabric stash also looks so lovely - you have a great eye for finding great fabric.

      Thank you! The trouble is the fabrics look so nice on the shelf it puts me off sewing them 😆

    Ive been using 2 gallon ziplock bags (Dollar Store) to organize large projects. I can put pattern, fabric, thread, buttons, elastic, zippers, etc and stack or stand them in clear plastic tote or fabric bins. Whether i complete each project or work on it a little at a time I dont misplace the supplies for it.
    Also my fabric store will give you the cardboard fabric comes on. I cut them down to fit my shelves and it keeps fabric stacks neat.

    I have 3 sewing machines. One is very old but heavy duty and a gift my Mom gave me 40 yrs ago. So it is now Art most of the time., another one is super fancy stitches and so picky when moved about. The 3rd is my modern heavy duty and daily use...fir every thing.
    Dont feel excessive with two machines. Then i also have my serger. 😂

    I love it, I've been decluttering things gotta tidy up, and slowly buying things from my wish list to make it my dream sewing studio. I like the shelving idea a lot and I've been meaning to get this pegboard from IKEA seems so handy instead of having things on my sewing table. Thank for sharing your beautiful sewing space.

    Oh I love it. I can't wait to organise my room. I am so looking forward to having a table like yours and I need draws so badly. I love that it's all white. A great back drop for lots of hanging plants.😂. Well in my sewing room at least😊

    I love your idea of sewing tour I do love the idea of putting two kallax units together to make a desk that is impressive. So I just would like to know how you stuck down your pink bobbin case and I got the exactly the same but in the black and I want to store my bobblins on my pegboard so I can see all my bobbins

    Remember that if you’re getting rid of PDF patterns that you won’t be able to sell or even give them away in a lot of cases (especially paid for ones, not sure if ones where you have to sign up for newsletters and fb groups etc are included but you’d have to check each pattern/website individually 😩)
    There are usually T’s and C’s on websites and fb groups etc that most of us don’t read before downloading patterns and I’m not sure how or to which extent all this is policed but it’s obviously up to us individually to decide if we want to risk it.
    I think your sewing space is great, I randomly and especially really like the green chair!

    • @ginaseams
      @ginaseams  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I just gave away ones that I could to family but a lot of the patterns I wasn't sure so I've just recycled them which feels like such a waste but I didn't want to pass them on without being clear on the designers rules ❤️

    Lovely room, well done.
    I just wondered where you bought the round metal washers on the spindle? I only found square ones in the diy places (U.K.). I know everyone seems to have round ones but I can’t find them (at least not when I looked). 🤷🏻‍♀️

      It's the Simplicity S9678, quite a new pattern. I finished it a month ago and absolutely love it! It's a dress but you could very easily leave off the bottom tier of the skirt for a blouse ❤️

    Hi Gina am just wondering what are the size for the wall shelves from ikea

  • @Madhaddersewing
    @Madhaddersewing ปีที่แล้ว

    Lovely!!! And inspiring! Not sure if you’ve been asked yet but where do you do your prepping like cutting out your patterns and fabric cutting? Do you use the floor or your table? That’s the struggle I’ve had with my room, I need a table just for prepping my works!

    • @ginaseams
      @ginaseams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! I tend to use the floor (my poor back) or we have a big dining table in the next room so I sometimes use that too. I'd like to get another small worktop for the other side of the room to go on top of the drawers to put my cutting mat on for smaller projects, I always seem to forget to cut interfacing so it would be nice to have somewhere permanent!

    • @Madhaddersewing
      @Madhaddersewing ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ginaseams that’s so funny, my situation is literally the SAME way! I use the floor (sameeeee my back is awful cus of it!) and the dining room table haha I feel like I spend more time transferring my tools back and forth than I do working on stuff lol and I too want to get a table stop or something for the other side of my sewing room to do prep work because I forget interfacing a lot too cus of it haha that and I’ll slack off on things I should’ve done because I hate going back to the floor or clearing off my table for something else to prep. I just need my entire sewing room to be surrounded by built in tables against the wall hahahaha
