      I think my husband asks every day “Why do we have so many cats???” 😆 The funny part is that they all like him best. He can’t sit down without at least 3 of them crawling all over him.

      My husband is allergic to cat hair. It's an unending battle to keep our two cats away from him. But they love him so much.

    Very nice tour! I was watching someone the other day, and she said, "Don't be upset if you can't have a craft room like they display on TH-cam." The reason is that is set up a lot of times to look good. That was very encouraging to me. I have slanted ceilings, which is a problematic issue in my room. You have given me, so many ideas for a different way to look at storage. I'm trying to get my things, my sister's things and 2 of my friends things together so I will have some idea where anything is. It's very overwhelming to me. But I will get there, and you have some great ideas; I didn't think of. Thank you for doing your craft room tour, it's much more realistic than some of the others I have watched.

    Thank you for keeping it real! I have 3 cats and a dog and the cats seem attracted to my quilts. My work room is a work in progress and changes as my needs develop. I've claimed my older son's bedroom and feel so fortunate, as years ago I was set up in a hall closet. I love your room!

    Hi! I just found this video and LOVE your heart for crafting! I am similar in that I love quilting and some other sewing, card making, papercrafting, and whatever else catches my interest (like a teeny bit of jewelry making). I have a question for you; do you actually iron on the top of the Ikea shelf or do you have an ironing board hiding there somewhere? Thank you. 😊

    • @mypracticallyimperfectlife
      @mypracticallyimperfectlife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a wool pressing mat that I set on there to iron on. I received it as a gift a few years ago but I know they are still available from many places (Amazon, Fat Quarter Shop, etc). It protects the shelf but also allows heat to transfer to both sides of the fabric I'm ironing.

  • @Bets74

    Hey there! Lovely room. Can I ask what size your cutting mat is on the table? Thanks.

    • @mypracticallyimperfectlife
      @mypracticallyimperfectlife  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have the Olfa set of 3 cutting mats. If you put all of them together they are 35"x70". I usually just put two out on the table at a time, so roughly 35"x46"

      This one is a Taotronics LED desk lamp. I found it on Amazon a few years ago. The exact model I have isn't available but they have lots of similar options. It's been a lifesaver when I'm hand sewing and need more light to see the tiny stitches.

    When will I get a craft room????

  • @Pureimagination200
    @Pureimagination200 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m making a new craft sewing room from my daughter’s room when she moved. I’m so stressed. I don’t like how it’s coming out. The table I bought for sewing and doing projects is too small. I have too many supplies because what I can’t see I go buy and then I have two of everything. We painted it icy blue and I don’t like it because it’s a cold color to me. I’m just not enjoying anything to do with the room so far 😢

    • @mypracticallyimperfectlife
      @mypracticallyimperfectlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      My room went through a lot of moves (I used to have to keep it all in totes and craft at the dining room table) and updates over time. Don’t worry about making it your dream space all at once. I started organizing with just clear dollar bin containers before gradually adding organizers I liked better (and it helped me stay on budget!). I loved the ikea tabletops but had to put two together to get the size I wanted. Highly recommend them if you have an IKEA in your area

    Wonder if the Ikea tables are sturdy enough to hold a heavy sewing/embroidery machine so the table will not vibrate or wobble? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

    • @mypracticallyimperfectlife
      @mypracticallyimperfectlife  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't had any issues with the Ikea tables (I have two each with four legs on them). I had purchased two extra table legs in case I found more to be needed but haven't had to use them in the last 5 years or so I've had this set up. I do my sewing and embroidery on there. I recently purchased a larger heat press which was quite heavy and it has supported that well too.

      That’s a tough one for a chronic crafter! Since fabric collections tend to be available for limited time, I love to grab fat quarter bundles that I like and then pull from my stash as I find patterns to use them for
