I'm sorry but 600 euros on a fake is kinda ridiculous, just buy a good real watch for that money and call it a day, you can fidn so many Seiko, Citizan and even Tissot models for that money.
Interesting stuff, Alix. Thanks for posting. Exactly how does the fake watch industry function? Where do they actually produce these things? In some nondescript warehouse on the wrong side of town? Silly questions, but I'm new to all this and it just blows my mind that this goes on. I suppose it has for many decades, or longer.
It is just amazing how the fake industry has grown. Like you, I don't understand people who buy fakes. They can just buy a very good real Seiko for much less.
Here's your answer: the only watch brand most non watch people know is Rolex. The non watch people who buy fakes care only for that brand recognition. Then don't care even if it's quartz. NH35 or Miyota is a bonus. Most people can't tell a clone and real one apart. A decent clone that copies the movement most watch makers can't tell apart. I don't really buy fakes but I can't understand people who buy an outdated piece of machinery for thousands of dollars which most people think only costs hundreds at most.
@TalkingTimepieces I'm not defending anything; I'm being critical of your expertise. I wouldn't be seen dead in a Rolex - real or fake. That said, given that you have to sit on a wait list, with no guarantees of getting anything, I have zero issues with Rolex super clones.
@@kaczynski2333 I would say that the better reaction would be to buy a Hamilton, Longines, Omega, Seiko, Baltany, or any other watch with its own heritage
@TalkingTimepieces given that a significant percentage of Rolex consumers are *only* purchasing the watch because of the brand, I submit your statement reflects a fundamental failure of understanding of psychology.
For informational purposes only, that is not a high-end fake. The Skydwellers with the fixed August month can be had all day for $60-70usd on an international Chinese selling app. There are no "1:1" fakes of the Skydweller because they can't duplicate the movement. The most expensive ones have an adjustable month for $300-500usd. Waste of money.
What you're reviewing is not the1:1 super clone. I've seen some with 3235 movement fully decorated and interchangeable parts. You will need a x30 magnification only to see that the finishing it's not as smooth as the original. We the naked eye you wouldn't be able to see anything. As for exterior they use 904l steel, Sapphire crystal and anything else as the original the only thing they won't replicate( obviously) is the white gold bezels.

@@TalkingTimepieces me personally, i would only buy timepieces as an investment or „money-parking“ so-to-speak. You have to consider that wearing and scratching something for 500 USD hurts way less than something for 30k USD. Thats just my view. Sure, it‘s definitely brand theft, and lying to yourself/others is absolutely dumb. You have to be honest about it being a replica. you are right. But I also understand the people that want a Rolex without worrying about scratching it or getting robbed. Buy it, wear it, if you think its worth it, get the original if you still want to. In the long run, you can still buy the real deal.

My point exactly! Buy a watch with its own identity

Sadly every luxury product or popular thing gets counterfeited, from handbags to hats

The funny part is you didn't identify the most immediately obvious defect.
No, it's not a high quality fake.
A better fake would still be a lie
I also pointed out in the video that people would jump in to defend "better" fakes

Fakes are fakes, and not worth it for any money. He did pay 600 for it, though. A waste at any price
That SkyDweller is a 70$ fake. If he paid 600€ he got scammed pretty good. Not a clone by any stretch.
A fake is a fake, a better fake woukd still be a lie.

Just let people wear what they want and lie to themselves as much as they want. None of our business. As long as they are happy
Except it is also illegal brand theft, and is bad for the industry. Tolerating fraud foments crime like Timepiece Gentleman
