Always a pleasure to see a TH-camr with a collection that is personal and unique to them. Not just the ubiquitous Rolex models with a speedmaster, reverso, and a black bay of some description.
I truly enjoy this video, well spoken and calm explanation as to why keep or parts way. Nice collection that reminds me of myself always on the hunt for a new and interesting watch but I must admit Im moving to upper end pieces. Cheers.
I was surprised to see you pop up in my youtube feed talking about watches and not the electronics industry. It was a nice surprise, and I'm a subscriber now:) Awesome watch collection!!
Not sure how you popped up on my feed, but I'm thrilled you did. I really enjoyed your unique collection and I'm quite impressed with seeing pieces I didn't even know existed such as the 90's SMP GMT ? Very cool.
Hello, and thanks for this delightfull vid! Your collection is certainly one of the most original I've seen so far on YT. And I loved the comments, sometimes erudite, sometimes humorous, sometimes very personal, that you gave to each of the 28 models presented.
Congratulation on this awesome collection with very unique pieces. Haven’t seen the Sinn compass watch anywhere else before. Really enjoyed your video! Keep up the great work. All the best from Mannheim
Wow, Alix! Awesome, awesome collection, congrats! Being new to the hobby, I find each of your pieces 'bedazzling' and fascinating to no end. My favorite of your group? The Navitimer. It 'nailed me' at first glance. What a beauty. Thanks for another great episode!!!
Very nice and unique collection. I find it so fascinating, how all SOTC are as unique as the collectors. I am s happy not to see a high-end Rolex only collection again. lol. They get so boring, this one has real character.
Very nice collection. Perhaps it my taste for the simple, but of all your watches the one that truly caught my eye was the Omega Globemaster. As you said a quality and handsome GADA watch.
I'll be 69 in November! Any new watches I obtain now result from trading 3 for one of what's left of my collection ! I've owned these watches already! I bought, repaired and sold them for food and rent! I'm not building a collection, I'm "consolidating" one!
You're collection is really interesting and your commentary was great I enjoyed this post very much, thanks. You pronounce the French names very well except Blancpain, fore some reason American watch people struggle with this one.
I just bought that Air King in Malaysia this past Summer love it…as I too was reluctant about Rolexes. We have similar tastes….wow when in Malaysia I had that Mont Blanc on my wrist as well crazy …I also own that open faced Zenith….will sell it as it is too big for my wrist.
Great collection! Honest and personal. I admire how your pieces are all worn, etched with memories. Your collection is filled with personalities. Looking forward to more stories. A couple of questions about the Montblanc (Definitely way undervalued, but great a opportunity for collectors:). What’s your wrist size and how does it wears compare to the AirKing? Thank you.
I have an eight and a half inch (or so) wrist, the Air King is just big enough. The Montblanc wears bigger because it is a taller watch. I really like the MB
I am now somehow nearing 10 pieces ( all premium Swiss and Seiko ) after being just a year in this hobby. I seriously did not expected to it to go this hard.
Ah, but that's one of the cool things about collecting watches. They accumulate! They don't get drunk or smoked or worn out like booze, cigars, cars, shoes, and other luxury stuff.
Awesome collection! I'd take the Santos and Speedmaster. I kind of regret not buying the Speedmaster as I bought a Breitling Premier Reverse panda (1st gen) instead.
That’s excellent collection in the high end section, perfect one only Rolex model with the subtle green to represent the company and I also agree is the best version specially for one piece from them. Globe Master calendar and Omega Seamaster GMT are two clever pieces where they mixed the extra function while not deviating aesthetically from the originals 👌🏽, I also liked the IWC GMT except for the A font on it, but still a nice piece.
nice video, well done. I’m in consolidation mode.. if it were me I’d retain the AirKing, Globemaster and Polaris.. perhaps the G-Shock as a beater, and the MontBlanc is interesting.. and chop in all the others towards a ND Sub, an Explorer II or a GMT. quality over quantity.
Fair enough! I currently don't feel the need, but I do try to keep my collection as close to 20 as possible. That way I can wear my favorites with regularity.
Excellent collection ! Just subscribed ! Only thing I will say, don't trust anyone who tells you that the Moonswatch is worth owning. Lol. I had one ,Mission to Uranus, my experience, plastic crystal scratched by a linen shirt sleeve, frayed strap in less than a week, top pusher lost on the street,,and the piece de resistance, a blue stained wrist. Not to put too fine a point on it, it is a total piece of sh1t. It's a low quality children's watch that you'd be afraid to give to a child in case they choked on one of the pushers. But I love the rest of your collection !!
I want to pick up that El Primero sport as well. Just a gorgeous piece. I don’t necessarily want the open heart though. I’m more of a simple dial dial, though I do like the Panoreserve by GO.
Very interesting collection. Easy to tell it belongs to true enthusiasts as it's thought through instead of hype train. Best thing about it is how you banged them of that steel stand without a care in the world only proving they're truly yours 😅
Dang Alix, you got more money in watches than most seniors have in retirement savings! I wish they would make the G-Shock such that you one could keep the case but switch the band out.
Sounds like you bought many watches not because you loved them but because you had a notion that you needed to have them to make a wholesome collection. Did not expect this from a senior watch nerd
The stand the you’re displaying the watches on, why am I worried it’s magnetic?? Nice collection. Calm my nerves and tell me it’s not magnetic, please!
I went into my AD convinced I was going to get an Air-King but the moment I had it in my hands and looked at it, I just felt so deflated. To me it's a garbage watch. It's all numbers and no style. And a pilot inspired watch looks stupid with crown guards. I really dislike the "Air-King". King of "meh". I love that Globemaster btw.
It’s nutty to have a set of watches thst you will never wear and are not interesting to you yet keep them. You have a screw lose bud. They ain’t worth but a few Chinese dollars.
Helluva collection 😍
Thank you so much!! 😊

What a great video ! Truly enjoyed ! And I also learned a lot about the hobby of watch collecting and the journey. ! awesome !
I'm really glad you liked it!

Thank you so much!
Splendid video mate

Excellent collection sir. The Zenith El Primero what a beauty.
Thanks for the kind words!!
Great video. Love the commentary throughout for each piece. Is that a magnetic you're putting them on? You have brass ones if so.
It's sticky
Great collection. Thank you for showing us those fantastic watches.
Glad you like them!
Wonderful collection, loved the Montblanc at the end
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice stuff.

The stand the you’re displaying the watches on, why am I worried it’s magnetic?? Nice collection. Calm my nerves and tell me it’s not magnetic, please!
It's aluminum, so it also can't scratch the steel! The pad is that sticky plastic
