I'm 56 and live in the UK and must admit I am intrigued by this car. As my knees get older (martial arts and hockey goalkeeper history) and as our roads get busier an auto makes a lot of sense to me. In the USA of course it makes even more sense with greater distances to (possibly) cover. Being older than you (by a large margin) I am amazed that you have such a car (or cars) at your age. Great stuff, enjoy because as you know this type of thing will soon be gone for good! I like the idea of a reasonably fast 'old school' car like this. Thanks for detailing your experiences and yes, I used to do 12 hour shifts (a while back) so I get your comments about being 'knackered' at the end of those and just wanting minimal effort to get home.

I've had mine for 2 and a half months now. I love the wide and low stance especially from the side and back. I always look at her when I park but I must say those red Recaro bucket seats are my favourite thing about the Nismo.

long time enthusiast here with a plenty of experience in various platforms. I currently own a couple of legendary cars but theres something about the V2. It's currently my favorite of the bunch. it is slightly modified so its setup to my preferences. Regardless, this model will go down as an all time great. The 6 speed will likely appreciate significantly in the next couple of years. I wouldnt be surprised of the nismo v1 and v2 follow the footsteps of the ITR/e30m/s2kCR etc.... the nismo 370z is the last of the true drivers cars
honestly one of the most overlooked cars imo. Yes it’s dated, but people hate the feel of newer cars and how disconnected they can be. to me this and the STI are the most refined, old school drivers car you can get

Great vid! Couldn't afford a 2 door in the 90s golden age of Japanese sports cars but now have had a 370z for 2 years and I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. It can sit there in my driveway / garage broken down 30 years from now just for the looks. But for now it looks better than most cars on the road that are 4 times the price
man this is how I feel. For a Japanese 2dr sports car, there isn’t much out there. I plan to let it sit pretty too even when I’m 70 I love these things
Great video & awesome 370Z Nismo! I hear you about the transmission... I prefer a manual trans, but I also enjoy a good automatic. I feel the same way about people! Why do they care what we buy with our own money? They need to mind their own business and worry about themselves! Anyway, I finally bought my first EV after hating them for years. Last year after my first test drive, I bought a new 2023 Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor Performance that I love so much more than my modded 2015 Infiniti Q50 3.7 Premium RWD, which was my favorite car until that point. Even with the mods and running an average of 12.90 in the 1/4 mile, my Q50 feels so slow now compared to my Model 3 Performance! My Tesla does 0-60 in 3.0 seconds & runs 11.50 @ 117 in the 1/4 mile! That's only the Model 3 Performance. The 2024 Model 3 Performance rips to 60 in 2.8 seconds and runs 10.90 @ 125+ Then you have the mid 10 second Model S & the low 9 second Model S Plaid! My Model 3 Performance does everything better than my Q50.... Better ride, quieter, better braking, better handling, more comfortable, etc etc... I can get over 260 miles of range at 70+ mph on the highway & about 300 miles around town. That's almost 4 hours of 70+ mph highway driving before supercharging on a trip. It can charge from 20% to 80% in about 20 minutes. After 4 hours, I like to get out to take a break anyway. It's been great. I put 16k miles on my Tesla in the first year. I will never go back to gas-powered cars again! That's how much I love this car! I still have my sport bike that is gas powered. Anyway, I'll subscribe after this comment.
Nice man, yeah I’ve actually had a few friends jump into the EV world and they swear their teslas are the best cars for them. Eventually I want to get an EV as the ultimate daily/beater. Hey man very nice review man. My first Z was a 09 Touring pearl white owned it for 5years loved that car went on several road trips very reliable never had a problem just maintenance. Then sold it bought an e39 m5 thought I was done with the Z life 😣 nah man. I love the e39 m5 trust me but it wanted to fulfill 2 different things sport and luxury but it was just too heavy I had to sell it all my guys hated me but I just had to step back in the Z there’s just this reliable excited feeling to it. N I got the Nismo!? Bro felt like a Porsche 911 even if I never driven one 😂😂😂 felt and still feeling special to me! lol I know this comment is long but I can go on and on how much I love the 370 Nismo and love it over the new Z. Ay, I also have 2019 nismo v2, just the pearl white instead of black lol. I got a muffler delete, ever since it’s been making a ticking noise. Do you know if there’s a way to fix this? I already took it to Nissan and they didn’t fix the issue. They just said to go back to factory muffler :(
Ah man I wish I could offer some insight but I’m all stock here. With my 09 base I’ve had for 5 years I’ve never had that issue but also stock. Maybe check the forums with people who have that specific setup? Or bring to an exhaust shop

Dude we have the exact thoughts on the styling for the new Z. Also a Nismo Tech owner and hands down my dream car. I had a 2017 Sport Coupe in Chicane yellow which got totaled in an accident recently and I could only think about going into a nismo!
11:04 - I can chirp 2nd and 3rd in my "stupid auto" - so don't feel bad about it. I get it after having owned several cars in the past with aftermarket clutches from hell - stop/go traffic sucks!! Oil cooler and transmission cooler would help as the weather warms - just depends if you want to spend the money and the increased liability factor with lines/craftsmanship/install.. For cheap - You can remove the door handles, sand and paint them black - don't buy those stupid CF door handle covers!! Other than that - I'd spend a few days doing a full ceramic install if you have a garage, a polisher, and a ton of patience!!

I love my 370Z. I went and looked at both the new Nismo Z and also the regular Z. NOPE! I'll keep my 370Z over that thing. First things first.....the new Z automatic transmission gear selector is one of the most hideous things I have ever seen. It not only looks horrible in the car, it's horrible to use. I rented two Nissan's over the past two years that had that same gear selector and I absolutely hated it. I would buy the manual over that goofy gear selector. And it just looks really cheap. I loved the new electronic dash. That is sweet. But I am not a fan of the new designed Z. I would rather keep my 370Z. And like you said here, even though dated, I ALWAYS get positive comments on my Z. Now I am a little fanatical in keep it in original OEM condition and I am a detailer so it still looks, smells, and drives like a brand new 370Z, even though it's a 2014 with 20,000 miles on it. It's polished to perfection and I only use it on sunny days and it has only seen rain twice and snow once. That's it. And why Nissan won't sell any of the new Nismo's is because it's list price is $65,000+! That's crazy money for a regurgitated 370Z! I would put my money on a brand new Toyota Supra for that price. They should have just enhanced the older 370Z with some the same upgrades and just enhanced the 370Z body style a little bit to modernize it. Not try to incorporate bits and looks from all the previous models into the "Z". They should just bring the 370Z back into production with all the upgrades of the new Z. Now THAT would have been one hell of a cool car! The new Z just looks far too MUTED. It's got an OK look, but the older 370Z had a much better outward appearance to it. It actually LOOKED like a small sports car and immediately sticks out from other cars when driven down the road. The new Z looks like any other car driving down the road and blends into traffic just like any other ho hum car driving down the road. At least the 370Z has curvaceous lines and again, LOOKS like a sports car. And the seats in the new Z were way too tight in my opinion. Great for the track, no doubt, but NOT for using as a daily driver, which most buyers would probably be using it for. The side bolsters are way too close giving the feeling you are crushed down into the seat. Not comfortable at all for long term driving or taking it on a long trip. And I am not a huge person, just average sized and it was way too tight for me and I have had a vehicle in the past with similar Recaro seats and they were fine. I don't know, I still think NIssan dropped the ball on the new Z and also the Nismo Z. Hopefully next year they at least offer the manual trans for the Nismo Z. It's crazy that the base Z has a manual option and your performance Nismo model does not? What the heck was Nissan thinking? Again, I would be very surprised to see very many of the new Nismo Z's on the road unless they gave it to someone for at least $10,000 to $15,000 BELOW what the sticker says! They will never sell them for $65,000+ dollars. I think they have visions of grandeur or something. The new Nismo is NOT the GTR so there is no way they should be charging $65,000 or more for it. That's crazy money for what is essentially a $30,000 370Z with a new body and engine in it. The underpinnings are still the 370Z. It would be different if they completely updated the car and made it a brand new model and design, not just a 370Z with new clothes and a new motor. If they would have actually ENGINEERED a new vehicle instead of trying to fool people with new bits and bobs on a 370Z, maybe they could have justified as $65,000 or more. But definitely not on the new Nismo Z. NO WAY! Nissan should just sell the new Z engine as a "crate engine" and allow 370Z owners to upgrade with the installation of a new 400HP twin turbo Z motor instead. That would be a cool upgrade to the 370Z. I'm sure someone will do it someday. I'd love to see if the new Z engine would just drop into the 370Z. That would be an interesting build for sure.

Yeah, the “stick or die” crowd can be annoying. I love driving a stick too. But for in-town light to light grocery gettin’, an automatic with paddles is perfectly fine. The older I get, the more convenient it is. I don’t mind putting in the work while canyon carving. But that don’t happen too often, so I’m fine with an automatic for most of my daily driving . If I want a slightly more “spirited” drive, my paddles and my 5.5 V8 Benz will still put a smile on my face. Is it the same experience? No. But it’s perfectly fine for light to light in town driving. You have a sweet Z brother. Be proud of your car! And how many people at your age own a Nismo? Enjoy it. 👍🏻
I'm twenty four, and i'm about to buy an isma but if they change the front on the nude Nismo I might just save my money because I'll have around 25 to 30K. Around spring to summertime and that's when I'm thinking of getting the car. I don't know if I want a 2018 or a 2020, but in my area, they're around like 25 grand to Twenty grand. If they just change the new Nismo, I'm my. Just save up. Because I'll have like close to forty k by the end of next year, so I might just get that, but yeah, you know, honesty, I just don't like the look of it of the new one at least

I don't think it has anything to do with muffler delete. Research castle nut issue in rear axles 370z nismo issue.

Dude we have the exact thoughts on the styling for the new Z. Also a Nismo Tech owner and hands down my dream car. I had a 2017 Sport Coupe in Chicane yellow which got totaled in an accident recently and I could only think about going into a nismo!

11:04 - I can chirp 2nd and 3rd in my "stupid auto" - so don't feel bad about it. I get it after having owned several cars in the past with aftermarket clutches from hell - stop/go traffic sucks!!
Oil cooler and transmission cooler would help as the weather warms - just depends if you want to spend the money and the increased liability factor with lines/craftsmanship/install..
For cheap - You can remove the door handles, sand and paint them black - don't buy those stupid CF door handle covers!!
Other than that - I'd spend a few days doing a full ceramic install if you have a garage, a polisher, and a ton of patience!!

I love my 370Z. I went and looked at both the new Nismo Z and also the regular Z. NOPE! I'll keep my 370Z over that thing. First things first.....the new Z automatic transmission gear selector is one of the most hideous things I have ever seen. It not only looks horrible in the car, it's horrible to use. I rented two Nissan's over the past two years that had that same gear selector and I absolutely hated it. I would buy the manual over that goofy gear selector. And it just looks really cheap. I loved the new electronic dash. That is sweet. But I am not a fan of the new designed Z. I would rather keep my 370Z. And like you said here, even though dated, I ALWAYS get positive comments on my Z. Now I am a little fanatical in keep it in original OEM condition and I am a detailer so it still looks, smells, and drives like a brand new 370Z, even though it's a 2014 with 20,000 miles on it. It's polished to perfection and I only use it on sunny days and it has only seen rain twice and snow once. That's it. And why Nissan won't sell any of the new Nismo's is because it's list price is $65,000+! That's crazy money for a regurgitated 370Z! I would put my money on a brand new Toyota Supra for that price. They should have just enhanced the older 370Z with some the same upgrades and just enhanced the 370Z body style a little bit to modernize it. Not try to incorporate bits and looks from all the previous models into the "Z". They should just bring the 370Z back into production with all the upgrades of the new Z. Now THAT would have been one hell of a cool car! The new Z just looks far too MUTED. It's got an OK look, but the older 370Z had a much better outward appearance to it. It actually LOOKED like a small sports car and immediately sticks out from other cars when driven down the road. The new Z looks like any other car driving down the road and blends into traffic just like any other ho hum car driving down the road. At least the 370Z has curvaceous lines and again, LOOKS like a sports car. And the seats in the new Z were way too tight in my opinion. Great for the track, no doubt, but NOT for using as a daily driver, which most buyers would probably be using it for. The side bolsters are way too close giving the feeling you are crushed down into the seat. Not comfortable at all for long term driving or taking it on a long trip. And I am not a huge person, just average sized and it was way too tight for me and I have had a vehicle in the past with similar Recaro seats and they were fine. I don't know, I still think NIssan dropped the ball on the new Z and also the Nismo Z. Hopefully next year they at least offer the manual trans for the Nismo Z. It's crazy that the base Z has a manual option and your performance Nismo model does not? What the heck was Nissan thinking? Again, I would be very surprised to see very many of the new Nismo Z's on the road unless they gave it to someone for at least $10,000 to $15,000 BELOW what the sticker says! They will never sell them for $65,000+ dollars. I think they have visions of grandeur or something. The new Nismo is NOT the GTR so there is no way they should be charging $65,000 or more for it. That's crazy money for what is essentially a $30,000 370Z with a new body and engine in it. The underpinnings are still the 370Z. It would be different if they completely updated the car and made it a brand new model and design, not just a 370Z with new clothes and a new motor. If they would have actually ENGINEERED a new vehicle instead of trying to fool people with new bits and bobs on a 370Z, maybe they could have justified as $65,000 or more. But definitely not on the new Nismo Z. NO WAY! Nissan should just sell the new Z engine as a "crate engine" and allow 370Z owners to upgrade with the installation of a new 400HP twin turbo Z motor instead. That would be a cool upgrade to the 370Z. I'm sure someone will do it someday. I'd love to see if the new Z engine would just drop into the 370Z. That would be an interesting build for sure.

Yeah, the “stick or die” crowd can be annoying. I love driving a stick too. But for in-town light to light grocery gettin’, an automatic with paddles is perfectly fine. The older I get, the more convenient it is. I don’t mind putting in the work while canyon carving. But that don’t happen too often, so I’m fine with an automatic for most of my daily driving . If I want a slightly more “spirited” drive, my paddles and my 5.5 V8 Benz will still put a smile on my face. Is it the same experience? No. But it’s perfectly fine for light to light in town driving. You have a sweet Z brother. Be proud of your car! And how many people at your age own a Nismo? Enjoy it. 👍🏻

I'm twenty four, and i'm about to buy an isma but if they change the front on the nude Nismo I might just save my money because I'll have around 25 to 30K. Around spring to summertime and that's when I'm thinking of getting the car. I don't know if I want a 2018 or a 2020, but in my area, they're around like 25 grand to Twenty grand. If they just change the new Nismo, I'm my. Just save up. Because I'll have like close to forty k by the end of next year, so I might just get that, but yeah, you know, honesty, I just don't like the look of it of the new one at least
Nice man, older V1 Nismos are even better valued imo, manual only and has a more tuner look. Probably stiffer but overall same great car. Good luck!
