    Beautiful ride and I love the mix and match on the body kit. Just FYI those short rams are hurting your HP. The VQ runs hot and they're sucking in that hot engine bay air. Longtubes are the solution.

    370Z (Z34) is one of the most capable cars when you mod them. They respond extremely well to forced induction and handle as good as a Porsche. It's too bad for some reason the stance community has fell in love with them and instead of being time attack track beasts they become IG show cars.

      It is very capable indeed, i didnt know there was such a huge following behind the car!

    I have a 2018 370Z Nismo in black. Had it from new and it’s been faultless. The only mod I have done is to fit resonated short tail exhausts which has completely transformed the character of the car…… sounds very much like your “RED ZED” 😎👍🏻 A brilliant old fashioned sports car with hydraulic steering , analog suspension, a limited slip differential, a big naturally aspirated V6 engine and a manual gearbox……. Perfect.

    I had one in 2017. Dad said "You're going to get hurt in that car." 6 months later I totalled it. Walked away from that one fortunately.

    • @rideepicdriveepic

      Sad to hear that. It is true tho, these cars are really not for beginners. They make enough power to be dangerous, and you can disable all electronic aids. Add to that the pretty low sitting position and not great visibility - it can be a dangerous car.
      That being said....to be able to have a decent V6, rear wheel drive, a 6spd manual and a small coupe all bundled together - it makes for a fantastic car. Especially if you do just a little bit of work on it in terms of upgrading the suspension and cooling components, the car can be such a good sportscar.
      Have mine for 4 years now and I don't think I'll be changing it any time soon. If I will ever want something else, I'll just get another car on the side.

    I recently drove my friends 370Z and it was a great car. Ive had a MX5 my entire adult life so I'm accustomed to very low horsepower and good handling. But the Z obviously felt a lot bigger but it's also a lot more car. The power was great, very fast coming from a MX5 and cruised on the highway beautiful.
    I believe they get a bad reputation because of the exhaust notes when the cats are removed. But also being quite heavy but if you can look passed that they really are amazing car.
    Azura's looks amazing as well.

    • @MrDuongTV1
      @MrDuongTV1  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Z is definitely a lot larger than the MX5! I've not been exposed to many 370Z in my lifetime so I guess I've spoiled myself by filming this with Azura. Thanks for watching!

      The exhaust note is good. They get a bad reputation from the muffler deletes and shitty exhuast people buy for them.

    I put a set of forged magnesium monoblock wheels from Litespeed Racing on my 6MT sport pkg Z to replace the OEM 19" Rays forged aluminum wheels. The reduction in unsprung rotating weight was about 9 lbs per wheel.

    • @scottrc5391
      @scottrc5391 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Everyone loves the Rayes wheels though. What does 9 lbs unsprung weight/wheel translate to in terms of crank HP? I imagine not all that much. Prob more cost effective to mod the engine.

    • @videomaniac108
      @videomaniac108 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scottrc5391 The reduction in unsprung weight improved the suspension dynamics quite noticeably; in terms of a smoother ride, better wheel tracking on road irregularities and better steering response. Because it's rotational weight, the car accelerates and decelerates better and has gotten about a 1 mpg improvement in fuel economy. By my calculations, my car went from about 8.5 lbs/hp to about 8 lbs/hp.
      My engine is putting out about 387 peak hp at the crank(by estimation of 17% drivetrain losses). I calculate that I would have to get about 414 hp to achieve the same power to weight ratio using horsepower increases alone.
      Part of the improvement in unsprung rotational mass is the use of lighter Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (240) tires. These are taking off about 3 lbs at the front corners and 5 lbs at the rear corners. The moment of inertia of a rotating mass varies as the square of its distance from the axis of rotation, so mass reductions from the tires will have a more dramatic effect than mass taken off near the hub. The reduction of 36 lbs from the weight of the wheels has resulted in improvements in the acceleration that is more than what a 36 lb reduction in overall car weight would cause, and this is due to the nature of rotational weight.
      The wheels were expensive and you could make the case that the performance gains were not worth it, but the car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

    still have my 2013 base bone stock. its the next project but it is a great car.

    The Z is a great car for people starting in the hobby that wants to spend some $$$ in something that will be easy to handle while you learn to drive fast(safely) but can bring also you through some magic when you decide to unleash the beast. Drive that VQ between 2500 and 5000 rpm and enjoy the road and the day... Dont let it go under 3500, cut gears and enjoy the car, that VQ never wants you to stop.

  • @testing448
    @testing448 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    The thing is everyone overprices these cars now and especially the dealer. I would steer away from early 370z models from 09 to early 2012 due to the dreaded oil gallery gasket issue. This also affected g37 coupes/sedans and early fx models. Not everyone will experience it however but if you pass the 180k mark 😂 you’re good and lucky. Late 2012 and higher has been revised by Nissan for the VQ37. Earlier engine models came with stupid paper gasket seals and if that breaks you will experience a massive drop in oil pressure then goodbye engine. why Nissan decided to do this is beyond me.

    • @scottrc5391
      @scottrc5391 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, overpricing is ridiculous on everything. I got a bit lucky getting mine when the market was depressed when COVID hit. I'm at 111k on an 09 bought for what is now apparently a bargain price. Anyway I've watched a number of vids on the oil gallery gasket issue and it seems inconclusive. The supposed cause was failure by Nissan to lock-tite the screws around the gasket, not the material of the gasket (paper). You can have the same exact failure on the "new" gasket if your screws back out. Another annoying thing for early Z's is the steering lock mechanism, which was eventually ditched by Nissan. The very first and easiest mod one should do is disconnect that lock mechanism fuse the first time you turn your car on, and never worry about it again. Finally, the slave cylinder is a pain yes, but again, I'm at 111k and evidently still original one, so I'm not gonna be furious if it goes out now, as long as the next one lasts 100k too. Corvettes also have concentric slave cylinders inside their bell housing so it's not like it's unique to 370Z. I asked a dealer mechanic about the aforementioned issues and he told me he had never even seen one in the shop for these things, granted that was 4 years ago, but that the most common repair they'd been doing was to door handles... not sure why.

    • @MrDuongTV1
      @MrDuongTV1  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That rated power is measured as total engine output. 234 kW to the wheels, some power gets lost through transmission and other moving parts

    • @kristianharley7231

      @@MrDuongTV1 Ah so this is whp not hp. I did a calculator and it came out at 368 hp converted (not taking into consideration drivetrain loss). That's 38hp over stock! Very impressive for NA tuning. Those intake manifolds, headers and air intakes make a huge difference!
