Thanks Colton! Though our previous trip there (vid before this one) we caught so many we had to "run" to pull poles out of the water before we went over limits. Funny thing is in these backwoods locations the Trout tear up the Clay Powerbaits. But we take them to the Stocked Lakes (with Natural Trout also) and it's a struggle. Perhaps due to the pressured fishing. See the Lake Camanche & Lake Amador vids. You East or West Coast in Canada? Fish on and we hope you enjoy the Fishing Videos... we're always up for a sweet fish story! We'll start to date we've only caught 1 Brown Trout & 1 Lightning Trout. Out of roughly 170+ caught. Rest... Rainbows. Ken & Lea
I'm so with you on that! From research I've done they indeed are one of the smaller of the Sunfish/Panfish. Along with the Warmouth. Both have huge mouths compared to Bluegill. I heard also about their aggression, and often times attacking things larger than themselves. Of the 27 Sunfish we've only caught 5 types. Mostly Bluegill (around 3,000+), Red Ear (around 2,200+), Crappie (24), Warmouth (15), Green Sunfish (12). Omg they are SUPER CUTE! In a way that one Bluegill so calmly approaching my hand. Was pretty awesome. He did it twice more before I had started the GoPro. Kept getting closer each time. Hope you enjoyed the video(s)! Fish on.... Ken & Lea
@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 I’ve literally seen my uncle use tiny raw cut fish meat on a hook to catch them before, they behave so much differently. I’m just going through your older videos, have you been up to Silver Lake for Brown Trout?
@@luster5497 That sounds cool, kind of old school. We're so use to using same bait for Sunfish (Jumbo Red Worms) since they work so well. Forgot about other baits. Oh yes, think we have a Silver Lake play list with FEW in there. We did decent, alas no Browns. Awesome to know they're in there!! The most beautiful of Trout I've seen! Awesome we always hoped people newer to our humble channel watched some of the older vids. Few gems (and garbage heh) in there! An honor..... Ken & Lea
Thank you brother, we'd put a lot less into them if it was just for our viewing. Sharing these experiences with all of you makes it all the sweeter! Feel free to point out our errors as well as things you enjoyed.... tight lines! Ken & Lea
Can't get any fresher trout than you had, great catch and cook. Another way I used those power eggs is when I used Mouse Tails I put one egg on first just above the mouse tail and it helps it to float better with the #6 Gamakatsu circle hook that I use.
Hey David how you doing my friend? Hahaha for sure boss, it was so fresh it was nearly too fresh lol. Soooo flakey. Only our second time eating fish that was just caught. Other time we were in Silver Lake. We've done that with the Mouse Tails & extra Egg before. But... just for extra bait, scent. Never thought about it floating better, keen idea David! Noted on the hook.... due to the clay we were using Trebil Hooks. Mouse tails were one single hooks... heheh I always forget the hook sizes
@@davidgarcia9808 Sweet now I just need a patient on using word "Clay" to refer to them! Muhahaha..... but yeah we've put the clay on both types of hooks. Mostly only use Trebble hooks for that clay. Hate using them, also only where permitted and we plan to harvest the fish. And... Jupiter is in alignment! (almost forgot that part).
@@davidgarcia9808 David, we have thought about using "Flys" a few times in smaller shallow rivers. Just haven't tried yet. We'd have to use our normal set up's as we have no fly fishing poles (don't really want them).
@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 Fly fishing doesn't interest me at all. I have a hard enough time casting a few feet of line and not getting it hook in the trees or brush or my ass, ain't no way I am going to try to swing 20ft or more of line around me, I would be wrap up like a fly in a spider web.
Nice! U should try power eggs, they are synthetic plastic so they won't come off the hook like the dough baits. I usually USE two eggs on a hook but whatever ur preference plus the trout have a harder time trying to get the bait off
Hey, great to hear from you again Greg! Haha I sooo hear you there boss! LOVE those things (as they stay on so well)... alas in the Thumbnail, those top two smaller jars... one is 4 colors of Power Eggs the other is 2 colors of Power Mini Worms Red & Ivory. Though.... we didn't use them too much that trip. Mainly cause the trip before they were MAD for the Clays! Maybe we needed them more this trip, my bad! We used them as "Bait Stoppers" before, using a bait that's easy to come off and used a Power Egg to help keep it on. Know what happens most times? Hah... we pull up the hook with JUST the Power Egg left. Cunning suckers.... Ken & Lea
Good job, powerbait really slays the trout most of the time. I’ve caught so many on it in the last 25 years or so. Shout out from Canada!

@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 I’m from B.C., so mostly fish the west coast both Canada and USA.
@@ColtonWilson3000 Wonder if we mostly get the same type of fish in the Rivers/Lakes? Safe to assume you also have Delta waters there?
Green Sunfish are the best bluegill-strain,
Stay small, super aggressive, will eat meat.
and of course, SuperCute
