    Chidwick seems like he can not be rattled. He's like a prototype poker machine. Listening to him, you can see why he is so beastly at the game. Interesting dude.

      I both wish I had that and I doesnt at the same time. Being emotionally volatile like I am is a big drawback playing poker. I had natural talent for the game but psychologically it was always a struggle. Found betablockers which helped a lot to keep me stable.
      But on the other hand I feel things deeper both the lows and the highs while a guy like him have a very limited emotional range. Its good for poker being a robot but it limits you as a human.
      But you dont know what you miss out on.

Also interesting to hear you maxed out the SAT n were a Terp for a while. Steven is my favorite tournament player, along with Fedor and yourself. Great interview Jungle, you remind me of myself when speaking with someone. The bit on breath work is really a game changer for me, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and have been medicated for around 1 year. I did not make much progress in the first 8 months until I found meditation which then led me to breath work. It has helped immensely with focus and interrupting non-serving thought patterns at the table and off. I just downloaded Breath to read as well. Keep it up Jungle

    Really fascinating insight into the mind and approach of an elite tournament player.
    I found it very informative and interesting from sit n go's steps to rock climbing and cognitive mind training.
    Stephens voice sounds like he rarely talks.
    Like he's surprised by the sound of his own voice.
    It's not even English sounding- a transatlantic dialect like that guy
    Zorg from the movie The Fifth Element.
    Great interview from two very individual people.

    A drink with ashwaghanda and caffeine sounds to me like your using the gas and the break at the same time hehe. Ashwaghanda lowers cortisol, I think that's the main effect. Caffeine increases cortisol secretion, so that would work counter to the ashwaghanda.
    I do sometimes use ashwaghanda in the evening to enhance sleep. I can see on my sleep tracker that it reduces my resting heart rate and I feel more rested when I wake up.
    Great conversation by the way. Interesting that he has a few climbing gyms. I'm into bouldering, it's a fantastic way to train and play.

    • @JakeyPoker
      @JakeyPoker 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      From my personal experience and from several accounts of well known people such as Gary Brecka, Wim Hof, and Sean O'Malley, here's what happens simply put; For up to 6-12 hours after immersing into cold water for 3-6 minutes you will notice elevated feel goods, hightened focus and sense of being awake, and your body will feel tight and ready to stretch. The best way to take a cold shower is to take your normal shower, end with hot water, to the point you'd wish you were in a cold winter breeze, you then slam that sucker to as cold as you can get it and try to control your breath. Try it and I promise your whole day will benefit and change.
      Overtime it gets easier and addicting like most feel goods 😉

    • @JakeyPoker
      @JakeyPoker 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I should also follow it up with this; Overtime I haven't had to get the water so hot in the end to prepare for the cold rush moments ahead, and most likely you will adapt easier too as you consistently take cold showers. But start out hot and work your way down.
