Interviewing poker's newest rising star, Mateos Norian (2cardtito)
GTO Wizard - The best way to learn and practice GTO!

In this episode, I sat down with Mateos Norian-better known as 2cardtito-a 23-year-old grinder living with his parents while chasing his poker dream. This guy’s story is incredible. He started playing poker in his friends’ basements during COVID, worked his way up from $0.01/$0.02 stakes, and now he’s playing $20/$40 live games with a $90K bankroll. But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing.
We talked about his $50K downswing, the mental grind of poker, and why he believes bankroll management isn’t one-size-fits-all (hot take: you don’t need 100 buy-ins if you have income). Mateos also shared why he started creating poker content to show the emotional side of the game-the wins, the losses, and everything in between.
This isn’t just another poker story. Mateos has some crazy tales, from live turtles at the table to hunting down the best games in America. Whether you’re grinding your way up or just love wild poker stories, this is one conversation you don’t want to miss.

    The bigger your bankroll the less emotional you'll be towards swings and not making the right plays. 50bi sounds right for live but if your 8 tabling 6-max online you'll need 100.

    This kid is obviously lying about building his bankroll grinding live games. He is so clearly a trust fund kid that’s being bankrolled by his parents/inheritance. Considering Jungleman has a brain, why did he not call him out on it? Just to save face for the podcast? Shit is lame.

    I understand what the kid is saying about running a bluff when you have to out food in the table. But it’s either ( for the most part , obviously you don’t want to over bluff ) correct to bluff in a particular spot at a certain frequency or it’s not. And if you are under bluffing than you ARE taking food off the table. not running proper bluffs should scare you more than running then. It’s not really about being built different. It’s just about making the correct decisions. You can’t think about will the bluff work ( obviously exploiting you should never bluff certain people and vice versa ) you just have to be confident in your decision. Who cares if the bluff works or not. Worry about whether you are doing it with the right cards in the right spots at the right frequency. And having a proper roll. I promise you , every thing else will take care of itself. You won’t be worried in the slightest when you bluff. Cause you will know your range in those spots and you will feel confident in your decision. Winning or losing the pot is completely meaningless if you making correct decisions and bankrolled properly. Game selection stuff too. But you should “feel” the same whether you have the nuts or not. In fact I could argue if you are only betting the nuts , you should be feeling super nervous when you are betting , cause you are playing wrong. Just Think correctly people. If you do , feelings are meaningless in poker.

      Bluff when you think a bluff will work.

    • @Womenandwine
      @Womenandwine 5 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah , but my main message is don’t worry if the bluff works or not. It doesn’t matter if it works or not in that one particular time. It only matters if it’s profitable over time. Who cares if you get called. Only care that you won’t get called enough times to make it wrong.

  • @webguy943

    Bluffing is so important for your red line because that's the only way to win without making a real hand. It might sound obvious, but my point is that some of the highest and most reliable yields in poker will often come from the spots where you wouldn't have won the hand by showing down but you stole the pot anyways.
