Bi-Han’s entire personality is “DID I ASK?!”
Won't lie, I have a feeling Bi-Han was badly mistreated as a child. It feels like his father was way more strict and pushed him way harder considering he was the clan's heir, and this turned Bi-Han into a cold, unloving person who started to resent his father. That's why he's so over ambitions and tries so hard to prove himself as superior, even if it comes at the cost of family and morals. I'm just speculating here cause I hate that they try to portray his father as being this "great man" and Bi-Han just being evil for no apparent reason.
Some people just have imbalances that make them a certain way also sometimes
Good theory but Bi Han is just ambitious. Extremely ambitious. There are people that have greate parents but still end up on the wrong side.
Honestly that would make sense, considering how he reacts to Johnny saying he has Daddy issues.
But at the same time he's also just extremely ambitious and power hungry. It could be a mixture of the two.

Is Bi-Han's "evilness" poorly written? Yes.
Is it inherently wrong? No.
We really just needed more time with this new Bi-Han to get more of his thoughts on what was going on. I can totally understand Bi-Han's perspective; dude is trained his whole life to defend Earthrealm as part of this superpowered ninja clan, then when Earthrealm actually needs defending, the god who tasked his clan with defending Earthrealm chooses to send... two farmers, an ex-yakuza, & a movie star? No one from the clan of ninjas whose literal job is to protect Earthrealm? On top of that, he uses them for... a test?
He's trained his whole life to *do* something, so when he finally gets a chance to cut loose & go at it & he gets told no, he starts getting frustrated & feels like all his training is for nothing.
Liu Kang really only looked out for his friends and even then couldn't do things perfectly. He's arguably made some things worse this time around and now has even more threats to deal with. Bi-Han was dangerous as Noob Saibot, now with him at his peek and in command of his clan he may prove to be even more dangerous. Makes me wonder if others like Frost, Sektor, and Cyrax will be even more dangerous as well.
While MK 1 has its flaws they have a ton of places to go story wise and made a decent first step.

I can understand on what you saying here but it does not excuse his still stupidly wrong doings of accepting shang tsung’s deal for some rocks that literally got burned by scorpion and defeated by everyone. And working for quan chi and shang tsung in trying to kill his brothers.
Little tic I like is how appalled Reiko sounds about hearing of Bi-Han being glad over his father's death. Given his own family were killed in warfare, Reiko doubtless would've wished to still have them and couldn't fathom resenting them.

As cool as he is, I've seriously gotten tired of Bi-Han only being Noob Saibot.
Simple: Sektor trying to overthrow Bi-Han just to take control over the Lin Kuei
@@NoelJohnCarloif that possibility is true then, i really want Sektor to succeeded in order for bi-han to redeemed, i mean come on in the mkx, sektor was grandmaster of the Lin Kuei specifically the Cyber Lin Kuei, so all we need is sektor to have far more ambition and treachery than bi-han and bi-han joined the good side again.
Whether or not Bi-Han should have redemption is up to Ed Boon to decide.

Sub Zero will always be the best in mortal Kombat history and I like how they made him sound like " Shredder " in this game.
He's like the incarnation of Shredder but an arrogant lin kuei.

This kind of Sub-Zero is the reason one of my favorites. From that voice I already can tell he's menacing, especially that its Bi-Han not Kuai Liang.
Thats what i dont like about kuai liang in mk11 he doesn't sound intimidating at all if i had to fight someone and thats how they sounded i would not be scared

I do like how half of Bi-Han and Rain's dialogue is them bashing each other's ambitions and the other half is them curious on how long they had their powers lol
To be honest, I was expecting Bi-Han to get his redemption in this game (something that I really wanted since he needs one), but maybe the creators showing Bi-Han's flaws and cold side is a way to properly build up his redemption and flesh out his character more, showing us his original personality before doing his redemption. Maybe in the next game, we'll see Bi-Han get it.
Bi-Han (Original Sub-Zero) is the kind of the guy who may seem cold and callous, but he's by no means evil; his personality is a lot deeper than what he may seem on the outside. He's a pretty complicated and enigmatic dude.

Bi-Han is about the same as he was in the previous timeline, being completely loyal to the Lin Kuei.
The main difference being that Bi-Han is way more involved with building the Lin Kuei than previously, where he just does dangerous missions for them.

10:06 Its kinda awesome seeing Reiko take offense to Bi-Han killing his father, having been an orphan raised by Shao.
Just to remind people here, Bi-Han defeated four gods of Earthrealm, Quan Chi and his assasins, Scorpion (Twice, as human and a spectre). Spared Sareena, take responsobility for his actions before Raiden and was worried about his future. His brother take Sub-Zero codename to HONOR him, and used his garb.
And now we ended up with this. He even sounds now cartoonishly evil!

Wherever I find this post I'll support it. No one remembers Bi-Han cause of either 3 outcomes.
(1). They're Gen Z or Gen A so they're born after 90's MK social circles. Even though that shouldn't stop them wiki-ing it.
(2). They're born prior but choose to continue being ignorant instead of having humility & judging by seeing scorpion in every MK thumbnail everywhere to date I gotta say Mission Accomplished Edwardo Boon, your plan since Deception worked. Now I see why it's called deception.

Fair reminder most of that was in a poorly received solo game, and his only real time being playable as bi-han was the very first MK game, barely anyone knows his true backstory because he's spent every other mainline entry as Noob.
I love both versions of Bi-Han, so we'll see where they go with this awesome angry edgelord.

I don't know why people don't like a villainous Sub-zero let alone a evil Bi-han. His personality reminds me of early Vegeta and like Vegeta I do believe Bi-han will eventually realize the error of his ways and become more heroic to at least become of an anti-hero. Plus I love the idea of the Sub-zero and scorpion rivalry here more than the other timeline.
Uhh people do want that, what they’re worried about is them just making him an evil jobber who never grows as a character like he was from MK9 to MK11.
I hope so. Because in the path he is now, he surely will become Noob Saibot again if there isn’t a redemption Arc to him.

I didn't watch the whole video, but it seems like Rain is the closest thing Bi-Han has to a friend.
Bi-Han closest thing to a friend was still his brother as in the dialogue you can hear the hurt in his voice that he didn’t want them to be enemies.

Hoping in the next game Sektor would be the villain for Bi Han redemption arc,i think Sektor is the only person who can over throw Bi Han with his cyber lin kue. While Cyrax see this he try to help Bi Han and got captured by Sektor and turned it to cyborg.
Idk i just one to see at least good side of Bi Han or Neuteal side of his in this timeline.
Considering Ed Boon's strong dislike for Bi-Han and his desire for an everlasting rivalry between him and his favorite character Scorpion, I highly doubt that Bi-Han will find redemption.
Please no Full Cyborg Cyrax, I really want a human Cyrax with augments and best of both
I wish Sektor was the grandmaster’s ambitious son. We didn’t really see his personality. It would’ve made another interesting character.

Well...if even Rain despises Bi-Han's hunger for power and glory, no wonder Bi-Han will be like his alternate counterpart, physically as Sub-Zero but still as evil as Noob Saibot is.
In his ending, he realized the mistakes he's made.
It looks like some arcade endings will be canonical setups for the next game.
Yes, my opinion is that I believe Bi-Han will be a good person or anti-hero in the DLC.

A lot of people predict his death and transformation into Noob Saibot, but I'm not too sure because there's no one to take the Sub Zero mantle this time around unless they pull some kind of time travel shenanigans.
There's still Hanzo. Who knows? He could have ice powers in this timeline since Kuai Liang has fire. Or its Hanzo who becomes noob saibot

Well In the OG midway Games He wasnt really a Good guy he sided wit Shang Tsun in the Start of MK and helped Quan Chi obtain Shinnoks amulet (if you played Mk mythology)

He didn't really know Quan Chi's plan and in the end he stole the amulet back.

How Bi-Han talks to Liu Kang tells me all i need to know. He saw Liu kang as someone who demanded his clan to serve him and he couldn’t let them go out like that. His brothers were welcomed to be with him but in his eyes they are still brain washed by Liu Kang so its easier to fight them than let them stop you. Bi Han isn’t evil at least not cartoon evil, he’s ambitious but to a dangerous amount

Jokes aside, it is interesting seeing that through Bi-Han's actions, even the villains feel wary save for a natural snake like Shang Tsung. I 'm curious to see the path Bi-Han will take in this new era, and whether or not his actions will result in the birth of Noob Saibot.

It's interesting how each canon's version of bi-han's sub Zero varies the most.
Canon Og: (mk Mythologies sub Zero - mk Armageddon): Loyal to the Lin kuei and wishes to quit his job as an assassin one day and has a good relationship with his brother before his death.
Kronika's Canon (mk9-mk11): Almost nothing changes until the noob saibot form starts to openly hate Liang because he is corrupted as a wraith thanks to Quan Chi.
Liu kang canon: an absolute power-hungry, overly ambitious jerk who hates his father and anyone who stands in his way of growing the lin kuei
My fave bi-han in personallity is midway's bi-han, in design nrs bi-han design, and the current bi-han in voice

I wonder if the reason for this character change is him being a grandmaster in this timeline and not having to deal with the mythologies stuff that possibly made him want to change for the better and retire like the first Mk game shows.

Megan Fox is a cool idea but her voice acting falls flat
I think her lines where a late addition and from a different studio. It wouldn’t surprise me either if they just gave her a bunch of lines to record on her own and didn’t guide her to how they wanted it to be said

Also daisuke tsuji could have voiced Hanzo Hasashi and johnny yong bosch could have voiced Kuai Liang
And married his wife. That's basically the plot of invasion Scorpion.

I think in smoke ending it was shown that he met an orphan. Later they train him to be the initiate of the new clan they made. That boy name is Hanzo. Hanzo in this time will probably inherit the scorpion from kuai later

Man I Ed Boon would stop being so bias towards characters especially the Sub-Zero brothers! He really destroyed Bi-Han & written him like Sektor was in the past 2 timelines smh! He took away what made Bi-Han Great & Kuai Liang & decided to give Scorpion a better story & made sure he was written better! For those who keep saying "Bi-HaN wAs AlWaYs EvIL" need to stop because Noob Saibot ain't his true natural & that God awful MK2021 movie was definitely not him in a bad comparison to a game character. He never hated his brother, he had morals & compassion! Of course as an assassin that line of work comes with impurities but by far non of the MK ninjas were innocent especially Scorpion because he went to Hell himself when he died. That's because the original lore writer was John Tobias who favored subzero and when he left, Ed boon went to town destroying subzero character and constantly making him lose to scorpion and putting scorpion first above all.

Why doesn’t Tobias come back? I mean he seems to know more about how the characters than the current writers in some cases. Yes I love what the current writers did with Baraka, Reptile, Mileena, and especially Sindel. Heck I think they made characters like Smoke, Johnny Cage, Kung Lao, Kenshi and Raiden better. But what is it with the bias against Sub-Zero. It hurts me to watch Bi-Han act like this when they could’ve handled that idea so much better with a more justified motivation for how and WHY Bi-Han turned out like this? Will there ever be a redemption arc for Bi-Han? No I don’t think so, but I want that to happen. Here’s what I’ll believe what will possibly happen which I hope doesn’t : He will kill his own brother Kuai Liang and his wife Harumi only for Hanzo who is a boy taken in by Kuai Liang, Harumi and Smoke in this timeline to take up the mantle of Scorpion and possibly kill Bi-Han out of revenge. Having the cycle repeat itself.

The sad thing is you can see from the intro that Subzero did had family bonding with his brothers for real deep down, but he's such a control freak that his two brothers must completely submit to him inorder for the three of them to be brothers again

I think Frost and Sektor will betray Bi-Han, leading to Sub-Zero's death and his resurrection as Noob Saibot. Ashrah and Sareena may play a role in freeing Bi-Han from Quan-Chi's control, and the experience of being an undead slave changes Bi-Han's personality. He realizes how bad oppression is and that he was wrong to betray Earthrealm to advance the Lin Kuei. In other words, Bi-Han might become the "Hanzo Hasashi Vengeful Scorpion" of the New Era and avenge himself by killing Sektor and redeeming himself to Liu Kang. MK Mythologies had Bi-Han save Sareena from the Netherealm. I think it will happen the other way around in the New Era: Sareena saving Bi-Han.

I don't care how many people complain about it. I actually like Bi-Han as a villain. Everyone always complains about how "NRS hates Bi-Han" then point to Noob who is basically a evil reflection of Bi-Han as if he's at all a reliable narrator on who Bi-Han really was. MK9 Bi-Han was cold blooded (haha), stoic and stern but ultimately was on the side of good. This is a new twist on Sub-Zero Bi-Han, The only difference between this new timeline and MK9 is that Bi-Hans ambitions and yearning for more make him easy to manipulate and push over the edge. in MK9 he only became evil after he died and was essentially ressurected as a completely different person with different morals and goals
People don’t point to noob. No one has a problem with noob being evil. It’s the fact that even before this new timeline, they started saying that bi Han was evil before he even became noob
