- It seems that no matter what timeline it is, Bihan will always find his way to the dark side. He has noble goals, but he takes 'Ends Justify Means' to an extreme level.

i find it interesting that while most of his lines range from apathetic to threatening, he does have a few in there that give you a small glimpse inside his heart. like he felt the need to give kitana his condolences, and he felt the need to clarify that he was not involved with shang tsungs experiments. i dont really see any signs that he will have a change of heart anytime soon but i think we will at least start to see his perspective soon, especially because he seems to take kuai liang and tomas's stances very personally
I like to think that Bi-Han isn’t evil he’s just an asshole with a rather problematic perspective on most things

@@arsenal4739 i mean the "betrayal" wouldnt sting so much if he DIDNT love his brothers right? kuai and tomas were absolutely justified in deserting, but the pain bi han very clearly feels has to come from some level of attachment. i can easily imagine it to be the case that bi han felt that kuai liang and tomas were the only people in the world who understood him and now he has no one. just soldiers who obediently follow without question
@@fs0598 I disagree with Tomas, only because of how quick Bi Han is to shit on him every time. It’s why I find it so interesting that he still likes Harumi. You’d think that after her moving to Japan and starting a new clan he’d probably come to hate her a bit compared to Tomas who he’s been with most of his life.

I'm quite surprised that Bi Han feels guilty for killing Sindel not as a warrior but as a mother...so i assumed that Bi Han is a Mama's boy who hate his father because of some family past issue between them

Honestly, I feel like the only thing to respect Sub-Zero for is standing firm in his belief even when he's got pretty much everyone saying he's wrong. Thinking he's fit for Sindel's power, believing he's in the right having killed his father and even just having no boundary for who can be immediately considered an enemy. He almost kinda gives me the same vibes Havik does, just bit more likable since he shows some remorse and a couple moments of short-sightedness. But I mean a VERY little bit more likable...

@@darlingxluxii7977 because in the previous timeline, Bi-Han was not a clan leader and did not have such a fate in theory, he and Kuai Liang were forcibly kidnapped and forcibly trained in the clan. In the original timeline, his arcade ending meant that he wanted to finally earn enough money to retire from his profession. This time he inherited it, the Lin Kuei is essentially his clan for which he is responsible. I have a hunch that maybe his mother was a blood Lin Kuei and his father just took the lead. If there was more information about them in the past...

@@user-sm6gn3nl6o Shao is an interesting figure, he believed Sindel was unfit to rule and was harming outworld with her in power. He betrayed Sindel, but his loyalty remained to Outworld. Bi-Han on the other hand only does what he wants for power and the Lin Kuei’s dominance. There is no doubt he would’ve eventually betrayed Shao given enough time just so the Lin Kuei can get the upper hand

I still believe Bi-Han can be redeemed. Some of his intros show him regretting his trust towards Shang Tsung, realizing Shang took advantage of his vulnerability that stemmed from his frustrations. Shang manipulated him into thinking they both shared similar problems. Bi-Han thought Shang had sympathetic reasons like him, but didn't realize in time that he was not like him. There are also intros where he apologized for being indirectly involved in Sindel's death (including the fact that he indirectly betrayed both Earthrealm and Outworld) and that when he trusted Shang, Shao, and Quan Chi, he earned nothing. Bi-Han tried so hard but didn't realize it would lead to him making problems for himself. Bi-Han essentially made an honest mistake.
Ashrah even states in one of her intros that Bi-Han is capable of redemption.
I also hope Bi-Han and Sareena end up together in the current timeline.
Bihan and Rain I think can be redeemed. Havik, Shao, Quan Chi and Maybe Shang too are evil to their cores. lol

Bi-Han has his reasons for being suspicious of Tomas. Let me recall the circumstances of his adoption, the Lin Kuei literally killed his mother and twin sister. Bi-Han could paranoidly suspect Tomas of wanting to take revenge on the clan, even though he has already reconciled and considers it an unfortunate incident, but he has no complaints against Lin Kuei and even less against the brothers

Sub-zero is defined by an entitield ego. His dislike of his father may just be cause he could not see that something are not meant to be and some are better living in shadows. In Bi-Han mind I guess helping another is “servitude” and having lived his entire life with “power” he cannot see that Earthrealm is not meant to have that power all around. He has power so why must he do what others say?
He thinks he can govern it, for he knows how to control power. But it’s ego talking and a complete inability to see that he does more harm then good
In fact, he probly never thought about good. His final decision in his ladder ending even shows it even more. Throwing away his and others humanity to create an “order”
That only results in casualties from both outworld and earthrealm
And it’s all on his hands. Which he will deny.
It glads me to see him being such a scum. Was this his character? To me it does not matter. Sub zero 1 fought for right but was also cocky. In the end his corruption and resurrection of NB killed any means to find redemption across timelines.
A fitting, and fateful new way to twist the scorpion sub-zero rivalry
Its kinda sad because Bi-Han isnt evil. He genuinely believes that what hes doing is whats best for his clan, as misguided as it is. He sees that Liu Kang kept them under his thumb and wanted to bring his clan glory. In his mind, hes doing the right thing. He genuinely wanted his brothers to lead with him, which is why their differing stance hurts him. Letting his father die is cruel certainly, but we dont know their relationship either, for all we know he couldve been cruel to Bi-Han to raise him into a grandmaster, but treated Tomas and Kuai Liang differently. He also says mother would applaud my actions, which suggests he believed his bond was better with his mother and that she would support him. Hes not evil, hes just done bad things. He can be redeemed.

Sub Zero vs Scorpion is an eternal rivalry, so I think this was a clever way to reintroduce it, since they've been besties for the last 8 years.
