Some interesting revelations from her intros:
-They're continuing Tanya and Mileena being secret lovers from MKX
-16:35 this interaction confirms that Liu Kang remembers the timeline when Tanya betrayed him and gets killed by Shinnok from MK4
-17:43 Despite that, she's still fooling around with Mileena. A bit of a hypocrite, no?
-25:27 Ashrah wants to tame the beast~
She is no hypocrite. It's just her inner conflict between her heart and duty that defy the Umgadi rules. Her bio states that she risks not only her position, but also her life by being with Mileena, but she is willing to take the risk.

tbh, if they make Jade more of a classic "tanya" ... at least then it will feel balanced and justify their decision to change Tanya around
Well considering that liu kang made mileena good, it be weird if he left her love interest evil. Plus with how certain people and rolls got shifted around, i think it makes sense that Tanya would be Mileena's guardian the way that Jade was guardian to Kitana.
Plus (×2) there are dialogues with Geras and Liu Kang (and one between tanya & sindel) referencing a "Countess Jade" who they want kitana to keep close, so it seems like she will show up and partner with kitana somehow down the line, so in the long run, I think Tanya was the right choice for this game.
TL;DR:
Mileena = Tanya
Kitana = Jade
tanya isnt her only love interest she isnt tied to mileena nor is it a requirement for those two to be together. both tanya and mileena are bisexual@@tysontaggart7246

I love how Tanya is the complete opposite of how we knew her in other games. My issue is that her (and Rain) were not really used in an interesting way. Tanya did not have a single scene where she changed the course of action or did anything pivotal. She deserved at least ONE GOOD moment that wasn't just her being a second-hand woman to Mileena. Rain was underused, as well .

It’s a Three Section Staff. It has its strengths and weaknesses as a weapon.
It's a 3 part pole.

In Chinese, its a sanjiegun. In Japanese, its a sansetsukon. Its a 3-section staff, kinda like an oversized 3-piece nunchaku. Like all weapons, it has advantages and disadvantages. In the movie Fearless starring Jet Li, there’s a scene where his character is using a 3-section staff effectively.

Previous Tanya was pure evil, she worships evil deity Shinook and is traitorous. I wonder now in MK1, whose deity is she worshipping.
Delia according to these intros. But her design is heavily based on hinduism among other things, so could be that or a simiar religion too.

So she is mixed and light skinned, but she is in no way indian or asian. Jade was also already shown by Nrs in the black month as an black woman. Just because she have a brown/lighter skin and use straight hair doesnt make her indian or asian. She is still black but light skinned, just like alot of other women in the world

And Jades face model has been all over the place. They used a white woman in the mortal kombat trilogy and darkened her skin. Your argument doesn't hold. Now facially, some mixed women are mistaken for indian or middle eastern. My Habesha Ethiopian friend is one of them since Habesha literally means mixed and they have Arab influence. I was told that myself when I had a hat on at my job and a man said "I can't tell if you're indian or Ethiopian". I'm mixed race black and white. People take face models and make them whatever. Mixed race people are ambiguous so they have features that can make them mistaken for all sorts of things. What gives it away is hair texture but they changed that for Jade. It's obvious she's not a black woman. Stop being eager to erase every nonblack group of dark skinned people. Whenever there's a dark skinned character, black people want to claim them even when they look nowhere near black. Sri Lankans, Indians, Asians, Native Americans, Australian aboriginals, and various pacific islanders groups all have dark skin. And they aren't black. They deserve representation too.

Netherrealms, the company who made the character, not me, made a post on twitter for the black history month in America stating that Jade and Tanya were black. So this discussion could be over here, isnt a mater of opinion. Tanya also had straight hair in Mk4 and Armagedon but everybody knew she was black too. Second thing: There are black native africans known for having straight hair, do your research, there are also black people even born with blonde or ginger hair. There are east african tribes with black natives having straight hair. Just as also there are indian and other asians with curly hair. Also even if she is mixed she can still be considered a black woman, not everybody black is african. Im also mixed, mom white and father black, but Im from south america and I can also be racially ambiguous because I have lighter skin, just like Jade or her facial model from Mk11. And I still considere myself black.

the most boring personality less character in the game. her entire character in this timeline surrounds mileena. her only personality trait is mileena. there is nothing tanya here. she might as well have been an original character like kotal and dvorah. also crazy how the writers dedicated more screentime to taleena than developing and showing mileena and kitana's bond/relationship (they barely interacted in the story).
