I had a D4 for 5 years and used it everyday constantly charging high drain 18650s in a vape shop and it never skipped a beat and would also bring back partially dead 18650s at times. After a while my boss liked how mine worked so well he decided to get one and uses it to this day. I loved mine so much I decided to try and retire it to at home use and purchase a UM20 for the USB capabilities.....I was disappointed I knew my D4 for rugged solid feeling reliability no matter how many times it was dropped or thrown around.(It also saw a few bottles of Vape juice) But when my UM20 gave me problems out of the box (EE codes for 15+ battery brands) and a slightly cheaper feel than the D4s construction site ready feel I was hurt but here I am considering another nitecore product. Id like a 4 bay that can charge my AAA and AA high output batteries that I use for work now. Just to end not bashing the UM20 I think I just got one with some defects and having the D4 to switch back too I didnt worry about it. But love the products and Im hoping the next four bay I get will bring back the feeling the D4 gave me.

What is IMR/LIFEPO4
IMR = Lithium Ion Manganese Rechargeable, these tend to be very high drain batteries 15A to 35A they were originally used in laptops and large camcorders but then were coopted by vaporizer manufacturers.
LiFePo4 is Lithium Iron Phosphate, which is a different lithium battery blend. There are quite a few different chemical blends for lithium batteries depending on manufacturer and intended use. This just happens to be one of them. If I can be honest, manufacturers like to mention these things because overt hard-science mentions are an appeal to authority. Similar to how protein shake makers will put NO (for nitric oxide) or some water companies will slap H2O on the label. Although the latter is more an appeal to purity and simplicity.
I recently received the Nitecore SC2 and returned the following day only because I didn't like the amps & volts printed on the protective film instead of the display window? What a stupid thing to do!..Is Nitecore going "cheap" or trying to save $$ by doing this kind of crap? It's like Walmart tires in a Lamborghini. C'mon Nitecore, you can do better than that!!!...

What different between UMS4 and SC4? thanks
If you only need to charge 18650 I would recommend the SC4. The SC4 has more input power with a 12V AC cable.
However the UMS4 is slightly longer so they can fit button top 21700 batteries. But the input is a micro USB.
