      @johnny smit did you give it a chance to charge? the new I2 is a slow charger. so it takes a while to charge high capacity cells. but because of that it take's good care of the batteries. iv been using the I2 charger for a good while and it's a really good charger.

      Hi red LED indicates 1.0 amp faster charging it does this automatically with one cell inserted (longer one ie 18650/26650). To manually select press button over the slot, push and hold C then you can manually switch between 1.0 and 0.5 amp charging. hope that helps

    There is a Validation scratch off sticker on the bottom. Scratch off the graphite & go to the website & enter your number. That tells you that you have the real deal (not a knock-off) and also registers it for warranty purposes. Easy-peasy. Just do it.

      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Red light means faster 1.0 amp charging so it stays on the channel that is charging at that speed. The only time a problem is shown is if all the LED's flash continuously at the same time.

    Hello. Been looking around for rechargeable set (battery n charger) and i find your videos very informative. My question is what do you think of the USB TO DC cable? Is it safe and reliable compare to wall plug for this kind of charger which has two input type?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi I have not used one of those do you have a link to the product? USB output is 5 volts this runs on 9-12 volts for the battery connector really used mainly for car charging though you could use a solar panel possibly. If you can show me the item I can have a look

    • @apache64d
      @apache64d 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plan to draw power from powerbank or solar charger as an option. Something like this www.banggood.com/USB-Port-to-5_5mm-2_1mm-5V-DC-Barrel-Jack-Power-Cable-Connector-p-997025.html

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Won't work needs more voltage your best bet is probably something like the VC2 Plus master (two bay charger) or a Klarus K model (they do 1 or 2 bay compact chargers) the K1 is pretty cheap and works well as a charger very safe and good charging. K2 I have not used just doubles up should be the same. They work off 5 volts so any solar panel with a USB port will do the job I have a few around. Some panels can output 12 volts bigger ones or fixed panels I see the Nitecore chargers more for home use possibly travel if you use the car charger (it's an extra). Other makers do better travel chargers if that's important

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For 2 cells it's charging at 0.5A hence the reason it takes so long. A charger with dual charging at 1.0A would be twice as fast so I'd look there. I did a video on suggested chargers here:

    HI this may be a redundant question but I was wondering: I have some 18650 batteries for my vape and they drain pretty fast while vaping, they are about a year old, I've heard you can do a reset or refresh with this battery charger to bring old batteries back to a new state so I went out and bought the charger but I just don't know how to do it and the directions didn't help much either

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi the function is an activation feature. But it only has one use if you cannot charge the batteries (you'll see all the leds flash at the same time). That happens if the voltage is so low they can't charger properly it might not detect them. Are you able to charge the 18650's or do the LED's flash?

    • @rico300zx
      @rico300zx 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mr Baz Reviews thanks Mr baz, I am able to charge them, just seems like they are loosing their umph, I wanted a discharge and revive mode, or something like that?

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The i2 can only charge cells it can't test them or do a refresh. You want something like this you will be able to test the capacity/internal resistance and run discharge/refresh cycles:
      th-cam.com/video/C9JABAp5QkQ/w-d-xo.html
      That can tell you if the cells are worn if they are the measured capacity will be lower by a fair bit.
      Of course all batteries wear out over time, that's the charger to use to test cells there are a few others around. Hope that helps

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The i2 and i4 make smaller cells hotter, in my experience. It's probably the built in transformer creating the heat. It's less an issue for larger Li-ion cells as they are bigger

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Eh I wouldn't want to use the 1AMP charge anyway, but unfortunately I already bought it and I'm not sending it back, tbh if it under charges a little I don't mind it's better than over charging, I have 3000mAh cells which will last me more than long enough.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well if you are charging a 18650 or 26650 cell 1.0 amp is pretty useful to have and very safe for cells of that capacity it won't degrade the cell life. The charging on Li-ion is OK a bit under some I have tested as you say that isn't a big issue it can help lifespan. However so can charging cells when they are not fully empty (ie 25% or around there)
      What bothers me more is the Ni-MH charging it's some way off optimal charge voltage and isn't fully charging the cells. There is no reason for this as the D4 is able to fully charge them. So I don't really recommend it as a primary charger for mixed battery types the VC2 Plus Master is better all round IMO. Or just go for a D2 which can charge them properly.

    • @Etheoma
      @Etheoma 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I'm using it for Li-Ion batteries it's just for vaping so I'm not going to be using it for anything but Li-Ion batteries and I already have a AA/AAA charger so that doesn't matter either. And yeah I'm using 18650 batteries but I need to charge two at a time anyway so I am only ever going to get 500mA charging.
      Although my mod does take upto 3 batteries but I have it in the 2 battery config because I use a low power coil and 2x 3000mAh batteries will last me about 3 days+
      Nice to know that charging them when they are not below 25% though, not that I ever did that really I had just always heard that it was bad to charge lithium Ion batteries when they don't actually NEED charging, and yeah I know it's even worse to completely deplete them.
      At what voltage would you say you should charge 3.7V 18650 batteries as my mod had a voltage readout although I wouldn't trust it completely. And when I say at what voltage should I charge them I mean the voltage of the batteries not the voltage of the charger.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Li-ion cells dislike over charging so that should be avoided (some are protected to prevent this). Reason I test with an accurate volt meter is to bypass any charger or mod readouts they are not all accurate. You can charge at any level if you do at 50% you'll get even more cycles out of the cells best to not let them run down entirely. Most makers quote the cycle times (ie 500) for full charge and discharge it's far higher if you don't use the entire capacity. Depends on the cell quality though

      Yeah as why I was saying that I don't mind them being a little under charged, btw will the charger automatically stop them charging once they are charged? Or do I need to take them out when they get to 100% immediately.
      Also should I always wait for them to completely charge or is it ok to charge them to say 80% then start using them. Because I haven't always got like 4 - 6 hours to charge them.

      You can take them out early up to you but you can leave them in it's safe to do so it cuts off the charge entirely.

    How long does it take to fully charge one battery at 4.35v at 1A

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just look at the capacity so 3000mAh cell will take a bit over 3 hours at 1.0amp (later charging stages slows down as per all charging)

    In my experience if you fast charge 18650 batteries it decreases their overall life

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can 18650's are safe to charge at 1.0A, that is the recommended charge rate for pretty much all cells. Some of the high capacity 18650's (3500mAh) will take a hit above 1A charging, some of the high drain ones can take 3-4A, anything 2.0A and over will hit the cycles, at 1.0A it shouldn't degrade cell performance

      @@MrBazReviews so in the case you charge 2 batteries will it auto fast charge one battery at a time because i just bought this charger after having the original for i4 for 2 years

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No as shown in the video you have to activate the faster charging if you put 2 cells in it charges them at standard speed

    is this better than the D2 charger by nitecore

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's faster than the D2 if that's something you need (the 1.0 amp charging) The D2 has a lower charging rate but this can be useful for smaller cells too.

      Mr Baz Reviews which one would you reccomend for charging 18650 batteries

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      How many cells do you need to charger or do you charge AA's etc? I prefer the D4 out of the Nitecore range there are single cell chargers dual bays quite a few choices depends how many batteries you want to charge.

      Yes I quit too last Nov, cost wise adding up too overall, so I'm not missing it at all really. Vape did get me off smoking I credit it for that, but the idea is (some forget this), to get off everything! Glad it worked out well for you. Same I only use chargers a bit now, far less than when vaping!

      @@MrBazReviews same as me then I went from smoking to vape then quit the vape I have been off it about a year now I had a minor heart scare and was hospitalised for a week so I ended up just smashing the vape and forced myself to quit it. It I found the vape to be as addictive as smoking droped the nicotine level but found my self useing it pritty much non stop to make up for the drop in nicotine. But glad I have managed to quit I have put on some will needed weight and my heart seams to be ok now maybe my heart playing up was a sign to pack it up from the man upstairs so to say. N yes they hand to change my torch batteries as they are 18650s aswell so now I have stopped vapeing I have got 8 batteries for the torch haha there better used in the tor that's for sure 🤣.
