    Love my 2019. It has 22,500 miles on it and it's paid for. Also, I trust the 8spd transmission over the CVT. Yes, the newer electronics/navigation would be nice, and the 2020+ does handle road noise better. Still, I'll keep mine. It looks like a man's car.

    Great video. Im pretty far down the rabbit hole on these highlanders and i think you just helped me decide. Not enough difference to make me go new models and not having the rear window opening is a deal breaker. Thank you.

    The new Highlander is nice, but the previous generation Highlander is still very good as well! If fuel economy is a concern then the new Highlander hybrid is a great option, Toyota's hybrid technology works great and is reliable.

  • @wonderwomandiana6461
    @wonderwomandiana6461 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The rear glass feature is imperative than the whole tailgate. For safety reasons by the time the tailgate opens the person is mugged, robbed, kidnapped, stabbed, shoved into the back with these quickdraw robbers. Its longer in length, still the 3rd row people can't fit.

    I traded in my 2011 Highlander for a 2018 Highlander and have regretted it everyday for the past 2.4 years! I really want to give the 2020 a chance but am gun-shy. This was a great video. Going to go test drive the 2020 because you mentioned better suspension which is one of the things I absolute hate in the 2018. Thank you!

    • @DPLZNT
      @DPLZNT 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go for it. I have the 2021 and the suspension is impressive. I have the XSE trim with sportier tuned suspension and it handles turns at high speeds extremely well and very responsive. I have no regrets upgrading.

    You lost me at no brainer to get a hybrid. With the long term cost of repairs, and minimal $$ savings in fuel, it’s a no brainer to go with the V6.

    Toyota should have a slightly smaller boxier version without the 3rd row, keep the rear glass window that pops open and with the saving on the weight of the car, increase the mileage to 40mpg. The 2007 Highlander was the best.
    Lastly, with the global warming and 100 degree weather, I want top trims with cloth seat. I don't want to burn my buns after 20 minutes of grocery shopping.

    We had 2 Highlanders and a few other popular crossovers in its class. We love the Highlanders and only want Highlander as it’s the best in its class. RX350, Land Cruiser are better but not for $40K. Both of our Highlander SUVs drove past 300K miles just like a walk in the park. Toyota after sales support, parts logistics and dealers network are the best in business.

      What has things have you heard? There are literally millions of Prius taxi and Uber drivers that have no issues for him dress if thousands of kms. I talk to so many Uber drivers that have bought used Toyota hybrids and driven for way more miles than the average persons drives because it’s the lowest cost of operation and maintenance is even reduced due to regen braking. Just curious what problems people are having. Our Highlander hybrid will be 8 years old and it’s been super solid.

    We bought a 2014 Highlander Limited AWD...the headunit/stereo is just plain awful (Did anyone even test drive this car before production?? Talk about glare on the screen, wow I can barely see it mid day....tone and bass controls reset on their own and now it it shutting on and off randomly. Multiple visits to the dealer with no fixes over 2 years... Never thought I would need an extended warranty on a Toyota, but so glad I bought one as I have one year left to get it fixed. Rear hatch lift motor had to be replaced, and since then it moves really slow...I expected better from Toyota. Just bought a new Kia Telluride SXP and we will see how that works out...but so far loving it.

      Most cars with auto start stop you can turn it off if you don’t want to. I find myself turning it off sometimes in the summer when it’s really hot since when it’s off, it reduces the AC performance as well.

      @@EverydayReviews2022 - Pushing a button every time you start your car so that it doesn’t do that it’s not exactly convenient. From what I’ve heard you have to do it every time the car is started… If I owned one of these cars that be the first thing I’ll figure out how to disable

    Agree like the older Highlander. More rugged it, more SUV, more room in the inside. The new felt small and not that impressive. Older one seems more SUV like

      Yes and no. Zack has taken on a whole bunch of new projects so hasn’t had any time for new Sweet n Sours at this time.

      Everyday Reviews : Oh yes, I learnt he joined another very popular channel (whoops! Forgot the name. Sorry). I wish you two to come together and one more time. I just keep watching old episodes given we have so much time in hand during lockdown. Hope you and your family is safe. Love your channel 😊😊😊

    The rear of the previous model looks better especially with the LED design in the tail light.

    I definitely have to disagree that the front/rear view cameras are crisp on the new Highlander with 12.3" screen. Rear/front view camera displays clearly as low resolution on the large screen. It is clearly stretched to fit the screen size which is what makes it blurry (like watching a DVD on a 4k TV) because I think the native aspect ratio/resolutions of the cameras differ from the the display aspect ratio/resolution on the large screen making it look more stretched/blurry than it is. The top down view is nice and crisp though because it's correctly formatted. Birds eye view is sort of pointless (generally speaking too for other cars that have it), you can't even touch to move the cameras like in other vehicles that have this feature. Also the stitching of the view could be much better. Other manufacturers do this feature much much better. I generally think the infotainment could be better. Going to the larger screen means losing almost all physical HVAC buttons as they are now part of a menu called 'Multi-Operation Touch' which constantly uses up 1/3 of the screen depending on the side it is on. Because of that 'Multi-Operation Touch' , you are essentially back to an 8" screen. I love my 2022 Platinum, but I think Toyota really dropped the ball with the 12.3" version. I just pray that it is able to upgrade to the new OS coming out in the Tundra and subsequent other vehicles.

    The 4th gen has the same engine and tranny as the 3rd gen 2017 and Same Hp.. but the 4th gen is heavier since its bigger and bigger rims..therefore the 3rd gen 2017 and up is a bit faster in my openion. And the back hatch doors to me is very useful when I just want to pop my bags in real quick.
