I think the suggestion to eliminate the highlander isn’t unreasonable on the surface, but it appears even with the introduction of the Grand, that they sold 87,000 units in the US this year, and for the last quarter you can’t even find one. Customers are putting money down for 2025 units that won’t be built for another 45 days. I can’t see Toyota eliminating the Highlander given that demand. At least not until the Grand settles in. And Toyota buyers don’t mind slow evolution as long as reliability holds.
I would love to see a redesign for the Highlander. I don't need the extra space of the Grand Highlander and the compact space of a Rav-4. I'm patiently waiting for a redesign, but Highlander loyalists like myself can only wait for a certain amount of time for Toyota to make changes until we have to move to another brand.
I bought a 2024 Black AWD Platinum highlander with Carmel glaze leather seats. The platinum was more luxurious than the Lexus 350L and roomier except for the inlaid wood which was better on the Lexus. I hate the big carnival front grill on the Grand Highlander and the Lexus.
Honda will eat all of Toyota food after they start releasing more hybrid models. Toyota is greedy and good at playing games. The release of the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid is making Toyota sweat now. Honda CRV Hybrid is doing really well also.

To my taste I like better the Highlander than the Grant highlander. It looks similar to the Rav4 which I dont like the design, and dont need that big of a car. Do you know if the Highlander will be redesigned in 2026?

Respectfully the highlander has served it's purpose and especially during the stop sale of the grand highlander. But I think it's time to drop the regular highlander in general. It's not much less expensive than the grand highlander. Truthfully I say get rid of the regular one and rebadge the grand highlander as a just the highlander. There's no point for the regular one when the grand highlander is almost better in every way. Just my opinion.
Sadly Toyota are behind the pack on a modern appealing vehicle, good on paper specs but old fashioned and boring design in person. Toyota need to wake up and look at what Kia and Hyundai are doing as well as others and pick up their game- you cant keep living on an out of date reputation that no longer applies to sell cars. Customers have much better choices.....

They are more popular than the Grand Highlander, I am sure due to easier size to maneuver, fit in garages, etc.

The GH is cheaply made, I’d go with the Highlander Hybrid anytime.
