Does not really matter what gear you are in at any given time - just twist the throttle. Guys, puts a smile on my face every day... The big engine is so smart. Because it should last forever. Having no load on it and turning low RPM's. And the shaft drive means not much maintenance.
As a traditional Harley guy, when I first seen these I was like “yuck 🤢”, but if I’m being honest, now I’m kinda like “hey baby you wanna turn a bunch of fuel into noise and speed? 😍”
@@wanton1234 i test rode a Rocket iii. It had gobs of torque, but it still didn't feel all that fast. I'm sure the rocket streamliner is plenty fast, but I doubt I'll get a chance to take that one out for a ride.
You need to ride the Rocket with the unrestricted tune for a true taste of what this engine can do. From the factory, the ecu will only allow approximately 60% throttle body opening when you apply 100% manual throttle! The unrestricted tune allows 100% body opening when full throttle is applied. It increases power from 165 to around 200 HP and torque increases from 163 to 177. Scary quick, and doable with an android device, OBD link, and $15 to the guys at Tuneecu.
I love the Rocket 3, I have a GT myself. The forward foot controls to me were more comfortable than the R's mid controls. The handling is amazing though, feels great shredding back roads as quick as all my sport bike friends
I currently own 3 bikes. 2012 M109R, 2017 Concours 14 and a 2017 Vmax but I really want this bike. Just figuring out how to explain to my wife why I need this bike. Believe me, I will find a way!
I got the Rocket 3GT shortly after my post. It is no way the same category as the M109R. It's more like the Vmax just not as violent when you give it the beans. I actually picked up a Triumph Bobber as well.
I was fortunate enough to get a press loan of the same bike, the r black, for 2 weeks. Went into it wondering about it and came out in love. It’s such a ridiculous motorcycle that nobody asked for and I’m glad they made.
This bike does it enough for me that I’ve bought one. What a terrific bike!!! It’s not cheap, but you get what you pay for. And in this case, that’s a hell of a lot of motorcycle.
I flew from Western Australia to Tasmania to buy a gsx1400 and rode it home to Perth and I was converted just like you are now, the GSX1400 has more bottom end torque than an R1 and its a beast to ride I'll even give it hell on unsealed roads. I want to ride a rocket 3 so bad, I'd love to see a track day on this bike.
I have a GT, Triple Black. Love that damn bike and I'm a Harley guy. If Harley made that bike, I would have bought it. But, now that I have a few thousand miles on it, I know that Harley could have never made it. It's just not in their DNA. Triumph just does it better. I still love my Ultra Limited. The wife and I have put 40K miles on it all over the western states. But the level of detail, the engineering, just the overall ride experience on the Rocket is just at another level.
I love the bike! Unless you live in UK it's pretty hard to get a Rocket 3R Black. I got mine eventually, more expensive than it should have been, but in the end, totally worth it. This bike is PERFECT if you come from cruisers and want to touch the naked world. Me personally, I can't take a super naked, I hate the sound, I hate the high revs, but the Rocket... oh boy... it gives you everything you need at low revs. 2.7 secs to 100 km/h is something amazing. The build quality is awesome, the clutch, the gear changer- they are perfect. I drove a couple of days ago a Speed Triple 1200 RS. Even if the motorcycle is an icon itself, the Rocket 3R is WAY above it quality wise.
Yeah the black edition is expensive! I ended up trading my 2020 Red Rocket 3r with only 1500 miles on it for the Limited Black edition. When I saw the black edition in person I knew I had to black out my bike. I have the werkes exhaust which looks so good blacked out on the black edition. I wanted the TFC but the price was crazy compared to the mass production model. Crazy thing is after trading my 2020 in for the 2022 Black edition I ended up paying around the same amount I would have paid for the TFC. I had to get it because it was the only one in Southern California.
@@wraymogg yeah the Zard looks better! The Werkes blacked out on mine just blends in. Those zards will definitely stand out! The Zards came out after I had already purchased the Werkes. I had to ship them back to get powder coated black which made a world of difference.

40+ years, 750,000 miles over a score of motorcycles my 2014 Rocket III Roadster is one of my fondest memories. I sure wish I could throw down on a new one.
I did a test ride on a rocket 3 R. After ridding the Harley street glide which I ride daily, the rocket feels like a dream machine... 700 lbs wet for the rocket with 800 plus, close to 900, for the glide... makes the rocket feel like a toy. unbelievable ride. Mind blown as well. Corbin makes a nice bat-nose fairing for the rocket. Bags aren't really needed on a bike that does 100 miles per tank more or less. thinking a rack and small pack to carry essentials, ice tea, wallet, registration .... stuff like that....
By the time you start adding fairings and stuff, you might as well just keep riding the Harley. The Rocket is great the way it is. I added the tire pressure monitoring system, tank knee pads, swapped the seat out for the solo seat, added on the clutch less gear changing, and added on the small windscreen that the GT has standard. I also switched to the handlebars from the GT so they come back a bit more (I’m only 5’3”). I also plan on changing out the battery to a lithium ion. This bike is a true game changer. It’s a beast!!! It’s also faster than the 929 I used to have.
Yes!! He started to change he started to come over to the cruiser Market power Cruiser yes!!! And one more awesome bike to think of is the Honda Goldwing f6b 1800 GLand That's all folks.

Man I love the R3R but I'd have to get one in red because it's the closest you'll ever get to that bike from Akira. You know the one. You all know the one
I can’t believe you weren’t initially sold on the looks of the R3. IMO it’s gorgeous, but I’m kind of a Triumph simp so take it with a grain of salt lol
Such a cool looking bike. I’m a naked bike kinda guy but that Rocket and Ducati Diavel seriously got my attention. I could see myself riding those kinda bikes.
Once you stop chain maintenance by buying a shafty, you’ll never go back if you can help it. Shaft ; most beamers Goldwings Rocket 3 Super tenere Moto guzzi There’s enough to look after, so if you can eliminate one thing Ditch the chain, literally the weak point of a drivetrain
It's like someone showed up to a spec meeting for their new design and pitched something completely and laughably over-the-top but the engineers took it seriously and produced a top notch bike out of it. This thing is so stupidly overpowered and insane looking it makes me giggle just seeing it.
As a Kawasaki Concours rider, I don’t have to fret over the rear suspension moves under hard acceleration and deceleration…tetra lever baby! But the Triumph sure does look and sound good 😉
I rode my Dads original Rocket cruiser as a kid and it felt like it was going to throw me off the back the punch in 2nd gear was absolutely ridiculous. I never had the balls back then to pin 1st gear lol. Now I’m older and really want to ride one of these newer Rockets and feel the power. The power curve reminds me of a Dodge Viper.
This is one bad ass bike! My disclaimer is, I currently own two Triumphs. An 07 America and an 06 Rocketiii (1st generation). Both excellent bikes. Would definitely entertain a third to fit in my garage!!!
Chase, as you know, I had a Rocket back in the day, a 2012 R3R, and it was amazing. I probably averaged one ticket a year on that thing, but i did ride it 10-12k a year though. Also, I was never sold on this new Rocket, it's looks too 'plasticky' (and electronic) to me, and I love the styling of the old one, HOWEVER, this Black version... I think I gotta get me one now, so thanks a lot bruv!
I haven't ridden a bike regularly since the 90's but I've kind of gotten the itch again. I started looking at bikes and fell in love with the look of this thing. But man, this does not look like a bike that is newb friendly lol.
I really want one of those things! I'm about to pay off my HD Deluxe, maybe I'll see if one of these will fit in my budget. I could use a third bike I guess. Chase you are a heck of a salesman.
Man, that bike looks sick. But it also looks like a lot of speeding tickets. Not sure I'd be able to resist the urge to gun it. Rocket seems to be a very apt name.
Outro crew indeed. 😋🇦🇺.As an owner of the older R3 since 2005, the only thing I don't like is the rear guard. It needs to run to the rear extents of the bike. I've ridden it and it's a lighter feel to the older R3 and much better brakes.
I have this same bike and at 5000 miles the rear brake has failed. There was a recall on the 2020-2021 but the problem is still there. Dealer wants to charge $200 to perform the repair. You basically have to bleed the rear brake and it solves the issue but it will happen again. I love this bike so I'm stuck with her and will continue to bleed the rear brake myself. I just hate you have to remove the exhaust headers every time you bleed the rear. For those that don't work on their own bikes, this is going to be an annoying issue if Triumph doesn't get a permanent fix.
Also that version is the Black R edition limited which is $24,999 only 1000 made in that color! I ended up trading my red 2020 one in for this version because it so good in black.
WOW that my kind of bike the Rocket 3 when your riding with this bike youre making a statement and the blackout edition man if i where to return to custom bike the TRIUMPH would be on my list with the mighty VMAX that for sure great video. ride safe.

I’m not into Triumph, but damn that bike looks good!
I can’t believe you weren’t initially sold on the looks of the R3. IMO it’s gorgeous, but I’m kind of a Triumph simp so take it with a grain of salt lol
Just test rode the Gt. Loved it. Will probably buy an R.
OC. What’s not to like? Comfy seat, all the power, don’t have to look like a power ranger. All good things.
Such a cool looking bike. I’m a naked bike kinda guy but that Rocket and Ducati Diavel seriously got my attention. I could see myself riding those kinda bikes.
I’ve ridden the gt model recently. Really cool bike. High speeds and forward controls don’t go together too well.
I LOVE the new Rocket 3 bike. The look is brutal and beautiful :-)
Once you stop chain maintenance by buying a shafty, you’ll never go back if you can help it.
Shaft ; most beamers
Goldwings
Rocket 3
Super tenere
Moto guzzi
There’s enough to look after, so if you can eliminate one thing
Ditch the chain, literally the weak point of a drivetrain
Vmax
It's like someone showed up to a spec meeting for their new design and pitched something completely and laughably over-the-top but the engineers took it seriously and produced a top notch bike out of it. This thing is so stupidly overpowered and insane looking it makes me giggle just seeing it.
As a Kawasaki Concours rider, I don’t have to fret over the rear suspension moves under hard acceleration and deceleration…tetra lever baby! But the Triumph sure does look and sound good 😉
Certainly my next motorcycle!!
This bike is eye candy.
I have the same bike and fitting the quickshifter transforms the ride..its silky smooth gear changes are epic!!...nice review by the way.
Dude, you're over 1 mil subs now. Congrats!
It’s Batman’s bike with more muscles 💪 Love it!
This is the legal way to become batman on two wheels. It looks sooooo good
O.C. I have always thought that this bike was one of the best looking cruisers
Out there. My Dream bike
OC: Camera car footage looking super crispy.
Best bike review show ever , just awesome! 👍
I think I gotta get me one now, so thanks a lot bruv!
gorgeous bike. i am an Indian guy, but I appreciate the beauty of this bike
Love the look of the new Rocket3’s. That all black one is right up my alley. Enjoy the muscle cruisers!!! OC
I love the design of this one. It's just nuts.
The torque is what makes it so fun you should try the v max to
Yes, this bike with 150 cubic inches engine is briliant ... 👍👍👍
Subscribed when I saw the multi cam shoot, much higher production value, great talent, love the bike.
This bike is insane and awesome.
That's my next sidecar puller! Wow- that kind of power, solidly built , the basis for a good rig handles like a sports car.
Whoa this bike is hard looking 👏
I haven't ridden a bike regularly since the 90's but I've kind of gotten the itch again. I started looking at bikes and fell in love with the look of this thing. But man, this does not look like a bike that is newb friendly lol.
I’ve never heard of this bike!! Wow I’m hooked!!!
Mans got style on this bike
The first bike that’s got me thinking about riding again. Love it.
If Batman ever were to ride a stock bike, this would be it
Batman on a triumph 😂😂😂😂
I really want one of those things!
I'm about to pay off my HD Deluxe, maybe I'll see if one of these will fit in my budget. I could use a third bike I guess. Chase you are a heck of a salesman.
I love it , the sound , so smooth
That thing has a half liter more displacement than my MX-5.
A real motorcycle, no competition for this monster.
Love the Rocket 3R
Have you ever been pulled over during the highway pull on a first ride?
It makes sense to be shaft drive ln given the 2.5kcc displacement
Something cool on the channel again!
Its beautiful but the way it sags in the middle is scary, it looks like what you would get if a 300 lb guy crossed a 20 ft ladder between windows.
Man, that bike looks sick.
But it also looks like a lot of speeding tickets. Not sure I'd be able to resist the urge to gun it. Rocket seems to be a very apt name.
WHAT A BEAUTY!
Looks better in black👍🤘
Outro crew indeed. 😋🇦🇺.As an owner of the older R3 since 2005, the only thing I don't like is the rear guard. It needs to run to the rear extents of the bike. I've ridden it and it's a lighter feel to the older R3 and much better brakes.
That Rocket fits you great, amazing bike!
I think you gotta get this bike. Like a little kid at Christmas.. and 140 mph. Holly shit
WOW that my kind of bike the Rocket 3 when your riding with this bike youre making a statement and the blackout edition man if i where to return to custom bike the TRIUMPH would be on my list with the mighty VMAX that for sure great video. ride safe.
