Just a tip bro , round the corners of the brackets your making, with a grinder. It gives them a more finished look and will keep you from getting poked when you're in a hurry.👍

I knew you're perceived problem with the forks was the header it sticks ridiculously out. It was still nice to watch you check the fork tubes, it's just like checking pushrods. Glass is best,as it's perfectly flat.I scrounged a huge mirror long time ago and cut it 4'x4' . It's a thick old sucker 7/16", came out of a bar my buddy owned. As for background tools and sounds cool,may I humbly suggest something with a beat rock n roll blues mix '50's-'70's. John Lee Hooker, Elvis, Muddy, Clapton,ZZ ,3 Dog Night.Remember it's you're channel, but you ask. I watched this thing all night straight through while servicing and cleaning some of my competition guns for tomorrow. Very entertaining.👏👏👏💀

One idea I will throw your way and that is to break them up into 10-15 minute videos. That is what everybody else is doing. I think it gives them more views but not sure. Anyway great, great job. This video is incredibly helpful. I recently started working on my 2016 ZX6R, and knowing the correct order for removing the radiator and headers will be invaluable when I attempt to install a stunt oil baffle and pickup. Thank you so much!
@@MIKESBUILDZ it’s possible to over tighten fork pinch bolt and squeeze the outer tube just enough to make it feel sticky almost. I race motocross and can always tell when I’ve been lied to about my front end being properly tightened

Thank you. The chassis was welded by a professional aeronautic engineer with over 20 years experience in that field. I am very confident in the repair. The ZX6R is also used by a lot of stunt guys who cut the frame in half and weld in a steel frame. Those bikes go through a lot of abuse and they have no problems.

@@MIKESBUILDZ thanks for responding, so far fuel injectors missing ,air box missing ,carburetor missing ,the frame forks visually from what I can see is in fare condition going to be doing some further inspection on the bike in the next 2 weeks to see what needs fixing . @@KateWilliams-p1h Seems like you picked up a decent project for sure. If the bike is in good structural condition, i would work on getting it running right before diving into aesthetics. However, sometimes it doesnt go as planned. Good luck with the build!

@@MIKESBUILDZ and usually on the master cylinder the brembo logo is embossed, not printed. And usually it got barcode sticker on the master cylinder too.. 😁
Please take the ugly tape back off the brake light switch. Just jam it with dielectric grease and plug in and forget about it. Boat trailers get backed under water every day with simple wiring and their fine as well as damn near everything else electrical on boats.They not sealed up as well as you would think,wave runners etc.... Your first instinct was fine just needed some grease.👍

No I used the original harness. I made new connections to fit the 2020+ headlight on the bike.

You should be torquing your triple tree pinch bolts. It’s extremely critical in the performance of the suspension. As well as axe lug pinch bolts

Great series, any chance you can go over what products you use for cleaning/degreasing, etc?
Sure thing! I mostly use brake cleaner, works great for degreasing. I also use dawn dish soap, good for getting rid of oil and grease.
How do you organize all the bolts and different parts, so you know what goes where?
I just know where hardware goes. I’ve done this work too many times. Though it helps to have everything in a bag and labeled.

I’m not sure what you mean by remote control, but I later installed the lock that originally came with the subframe and had a key made for it.

What gets me is the wiring. How do you know where everything goes and what it connects to, especially if its completely missing or cut?
Years of experience I guess. I’ve been rebuilding wrecked cars and bikes long before I started making TH-cam video. Over 10 years doing this.
@@MIKESBUILDZ Oh I gotcha. Do you use a book for these bikes? Or is it just from memory/knowledge of them?
No book. After working on so many cars and bikes, there’s a lot of similarities with how they’re put together with some tweaks here and there.
You can label the wires with tape and a sharpie that might help putting stuff back together

How long did the rebuild take mike
About 4-5 months. But most time was spent waiting for parts, hopping on other builds and many well spent family times.
