I love my '23 Scout Bobber and wouldn't consider replacing it, but man these '25 models look so good. Indian's designers are really hitting their stride: such beautiful bikes.
Ricky, your first Bobber review (way back when) was one of the reasons why I had been harassing my wife for the sign off on me getting an Indian Bobber I saw the new 2025 Bobber and i am in, I spoke with my wife today and she finally said ok. we are heading up to the Indian dealer over the weekend to Pre Order the 2025 Indian Scout Bobber Limited + Tech. model with added smoke signals, blackend brake and clutch levers & Heated Grips. I am soo Excited. been a hard few years after losing my Brother. not fully felt my old self in a while and I am soo excited to be finally getting on the road and hopfully finding myself. Keep up the good work brother from another mother. hope your keeping well. Peace
If there’s any one thing I would change. I would give the 101 about an inch taller suspension than the rest. It’s the performance model and the little bit of extra lean angle won’t hurt.
I own the 2022 FTR Black Smoke & a 2023 Sport Chief Ruby Smoke both with standard customizations. The reason I will continue to stick with Indian is primarily because of how they have listened to customers. I wouldn't buy the 2019 FTR because of the complaints riders had, then Indian literally fixed every single issue when they redesigned the 2022 model. I also wasn't going to buy a Chief until they gave that model the same treatment, voilà the Sport Chief was made. This new Scout 101 is definitely a homerun, if I was in the market for a Scout model it would absolutely be that one, red & black being my favorite colors anyway.
Indian been putting out great stuff! I ended up buying a Low Rider ST over the Chief, but it was close. Ultimately it just came down to the wind protection and coming with bags as standard. But if I’m looking for a smaller cruiser, Harley wouldn’t stand a chance in my opinion next to these new Scouts! They’re awesome
I like the older models better. Not a fan of the new exhaust, still judging the engine look, and some of the paint options at first look. And how much performance are we really getting on the road. The styling looks off to me as well. Indian makes an awesome bike tho.
I would really like to know why the new Scout looks so much like the HD Nightmare, I mean Nightster, right down to the 2/1 exhaust. I honestly don't see how it could be coincidence.
I'd ask him about his creative limitations, ie. full design control, but within certain parameters, mass production vs custom and unique, what were his parameters, how did those inspire him, and where did he feel most free to express himself? Is there one through line on all of his designs that stands out or that he always end up coming back to? If he could only ride one road bike off road, and one off road bike on road for the rest of his life, what two bikes would be pick? haha Also can't believe they ended up putting cruise control on the Scout! No way! Awesome!
I think it has to do a lot with the ECU. I’m going to interview Ola Stenegard (Design Director for Indian Motorcycle) tomorrow and I’ll be sure to ask.
@@Weirdalbertan I have a 2022. No need to buy a new one to spend money on something. I already have. I can go get any other bike for the price of that bike and still keep my bike.
Something else you'd need to think about is where are you going to put all the extra wires? more tech means more wires. As said in the other comment, ECU is a limitation as well. NOW as far as the cool new risers that's on the Sport Scout , that would be cool to see if it would even be possible fit up on the old scout. I'd love to see if anyone takes the new stuff and try and fit it on a old scout.
Thank you for the great video! I, myself, have the Scout Bobber Twenty bike, I love this bike and I wouldn't trade it in for the 2025 even though there are improvements for it. However, I would have liked some of the new features to be an add-on to the previous models specifically the traction control and the digital gauge was something I deeply wanted on my bike. I doubt they would do it but something I do want tho.
THANK YOU no one is talking about this and it's upsetting me. They changed the look of the rear fender and tank for no reason at all. Looks more like a chief now.
LOVE THE NEW BOBBER... Harley should offer OPTIONS on FOOT CONTROLS... on the Sportster S and it should have mid or rear controls. I like that the New bobber has a lot less electronic "Bells and Whistles". Indian liquid cooling and the Triumph bobber both you do not see the radiator so much... good on all these NEW scouts. Trying to make room in the stable for a 3rd bike.
Hi i just check out your videos on your channel !! So i hope your put more videos on the Motorcycle Content ,and on the Indian motorcycles !!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪💪
Hello Ricky, fan of your channel, you actually put me on the path of the Scout and sealed the deal with being a Indian motorcycles lover over Harley when I started getting heavily into motorcycles. Anyways, after owning the Victory Octane (cousin to the Scout), I can say I've experienced the Scout without owning one. I've test ridden many Scouts, and they're very similar to the Octane, particularly the Rogue in looks and handling. I've been considering upgrading to the Sport Chief for a larger bike, but after the SpeedPlus Scouts coming out, kind of on the fence of considering the Scout 101. I've test ridden the Chief as well, but I have to ask, whats your experience with your Chief?
Anyone know if you can buy the new screen display and put it on any of the Scouts ? or just the top tier ones can have it installed I'm from Canada and the prices here are crazy so if I can buy a cheaper model and update the display it would be a no brainer for me.
I may have to wait six months until my local Indian Dealer has the new 2025 Scouts available for test rides since all the Scouts that were allocated to the dealer have been sold. I'm like you and have to test ride rhe bike to decide which Scout model I like most.
Oh my goddess ..... *I LOVE* the new Scout 101 .... but I'm likely too old for it :o) So the Super Scout would be a better choice for me. Either way .... WELL DONE, Indian !!!
I love the new scout and being somewhat height challenged woul use it for long distance travel where are the larger fuel tank and hard bags I can lock?
My choice would be the Classic in sunset red with windshield, floorboards, passenger backrest, engine guard and saddlebags. That would put it around $19K.
I think it's a great redesign. The scout is Indian's best bike family IMO. Scout shines well in the liquid cooled cruiser market. But the one thing I dont get about the redesign is why are they sticking with the dual shocks also the release video claiming they made it iconic is amusing and just flat out wrong. No matter what they say though I'm a bit confused as to why they stuck to it when they kept it in the Gen2 Chief. I think the scout would a monoshock would be incredible. That being said I think my number 1 choice for a small cruiser is the Scout right now. I walked away from the 2 demo day wanting a scout, that's a great bike and now... I need to ride the new one hellyes.
Test rode a couple of scouts recently, was looking at getting the 24' Rogue. Excited to see the new models but disappointed mini apes aren't available for customization and the new engines look bland.
i got a Bobber...good bike, but when i was buying it i told the salesman that for the price, and Indian being a premier bike company it should have cruise, actual gas gauge, ride modes so the bike can be tame for newbies and then normal later on...and at the dealer they should have couple different seats and handlebars they swap out to make the bike fit when you buy it. now reckon Indian is going to charge for the 32 configurations, but its like they eavesdropped on the conversation....and then some... so that is awesome, and overall its a decent looking bike..the odd thing is it looks way more generic now. everything that made the scout unique is gone, and now its like any other bike...the aluminum frame changing to steel is fine, the rear fender looks little big, not as bad as the Chief, but little big and high off the tire here..but the big thing is the motor...the old motor was very pretty and really went a long way towards making the old bike such a stunner...and now the motor is just this black bland smooth empty sort of thing that contributes nothing...in the main promo video the one dude talks about how they took the "styling" of the engine from the challenger...which has the same problem...its just this smooth semi-square cylinder with no character, no charm, no style, no presence...why would anyone think it was a good idea to do more of that?! makes no sense. so, there is alot of good in the new Scout, but there are a couple small...and one big...mis steps.
pains me to see them make such a cool model throughout history look like a generic vulcan. the specs are there and i like the digital readout but doubt ill consider buying one over my 2022 model
@@RickyNotSoMartin The new Bobber might be similar to the old Bobber. I have the Bobber 20 with the laced wheels and mini-apes and I would want my new one the same But those are now aftermarket selections. I'd have to buy a Classic or the Super Scout if I want the wheels stock, but I would still have to buy the mini-apes as well as new brake and clutch cables. I would have liked to see wheel and handle bar choices included in their trim packages.
I just wish the scout was a bit bigger. I’m only 5’11” and I feel like the scout is WAY too small to justify buying one. The new ones dimensions are the same as the old ones.
I got lots to say on this. Unfortunately, I'm a bit disappointed with the engine. The styling doesn't look as good as the old one, which, combined with the old tank, gave the last Scout it's iconic retro-modern look. Also, I'm surprised at the negligible performance increase from the 1250cc engine. Only 5 HP for the standard and 111 for the 101? The older Scouts are 100 vs 110 for a tune, doesn't seem like much of an upgrade. I feel like they had to change the engine though because they couldn't Integrate Ride Command into the old ECU and because emissions regs are changing in Europe and North America. The leaf blower exhaust is really ugly, just like on the Nightster. Not a huge deal since most people swap it out eventually. The tech upgrades are where it shines and I would almost be willing to trade my Rogue in for that alone.
I'm trying. I'm having a difficult time with how much the new Scout looks like the HD Nightster. They're practically identical. I think it's got that generic cruiser look and has lost some of it's uniqueness. I'm hoping when I see it live and give it a test ride, I'll be able to change my mind. I love my Bobber 20, so any other bike out there is going to be a hard sell. Regardless, I won't buy the first year of any new design or redesign of any vehicle. There are bound to be issues. One reviewer said the new Scout scrapes the exhaust on right turns. I want those sort of things corrected before I seriously look toward buying a new Scout.
@@RickyNotSoMartin We'll see indeed. I have no doubt all of the new upgrades will sell the bike just fine. Even the reskinned Victory Octane engine is an upgrade, although the 111 engine has never seemed too weak for me.
No not ruined but could've just tweaked a bit more styling. Great with the engine and electronics. The Scout Classic doesn't look a whole lot different. Mini apes would look nice and that ugly fat rear pipe. Still reckon you'd choose it over a Sportster....which looks nothing like a sporty and I think sales back that up.
@@RickyNotSoMartin all of them but mainly the bobber and sport. Black is just so boring, blue is ok ish, no green and no grey. I also want the khaki colour from the chief
The redesigned gas tank is a large step back for the aesthetic of the bike. The market was clear and its desire for a modernized cruiser with Indian's best selling bike in its lineup but then they go ahead and regress to a something very Harley Davidson. That center strip thing sucks and the vintage gas cap is horrible. And then they rounded out the tank so it no longer matches with the front or rear fender. 🤦🏼♂️ This new model was an easy layup for Indian but instead is somewhat of an airball. My 2020 model is superior, unfortunately, as I've been waiting for an upgrade for some time now.
I am a few years from retirement , I'm not going to sit on my ass and waste away, this will be the most important purchase in my life , the so called golden years , I've got to get it right ! I live in northwest New Jersey, a former US Navy Nuclear Submarine Sailor , I have seen wonders that few people can imagine, at heart I am sill an explorer people that don't ride don't understand that We who ride share this spirit
I just dont like 3 things, which I am in the minority I am sure 1. I dont like the 2 to 1 pipe. I liked the double pipe. 2. I dont like the rounder gas tank. 3. I dont like the new heads on the engine, too round and it sort of looks plastic.
Nope!! Indian just priced us working class right outa this segment! Just like HD did no way am I paying $21,000 for a bike I ride for maybe 4 months out of the year! Don't get me wrong these bikes are amazing, but the pricing is pulling away. Hmm Honda looks a lot more appealing now price wise compared to the Indians.
Really?! You gotta love how different humans are! I think they killed it with the paint job on the 101 Scout! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts though 🤙

Sad.
I don't agree but we'll see. Only time will tell.
I am disappointed with the colour options or the lack of…
Do you mean in a specific Scout model or in general? Thanks for sharing.
@@RickyNotSoMartin all of them but mainly the bobber and sport. Black is just so boring, blue is ok ish, no green and no grey. I also want the khaki colour from the chief
@@RickyNotSoMartin and only colour options if you pick the tech+
I just dont like 3 things, which I am in the minority I am sure
1. I dont like the 2 to 1 pipe. I liked the double pipe.
2. I dont like the rounder gas tank.
3. I dont like the new heads on the engine, too round and it sort of looks plastic.
Did the ruin it? No , redundant TH-cam click bait question
101...
It's the 2024 line up, not the 2025...but hey, who's counting ;)
2025
@@CrixyM Not for sale this year?
Bad paint style, horrible plastic engine cover. It’s kinda ugly. Lost the classic aesthetic, now more ‘modern’ Harley style
Really?! You gotta love how different humans are! I think they killed it with the paint job on the 101 Scout! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts though 🤙
@@RickyNotSoMartin Yea, I mean the paint is easy to fix. The shiny plastic valve covers are a harder problem
🙌 Promo sm
Too expensive. They look good though.
