This! I've had a scout in the past and found it a bit gutless, and it sounded crap standard. Hoping this version (especially the quickest one) has a bit more grunt! I've a Roadmaster at the moment and might consider an FTR in the meantime before this comes out.
And a nice upgrade on tech matching ftr and chief wich is quite cool. And that look, at least from right side, is quite nail. Lets wait to see if its like hd nightster and sportster with the revolution with one good looking side and another clumsy shitty looking side like its not finished or they forgot covers
Agree there's something similar - maybe the attention to detail and finishing items. Scout Bobber has always appealed to me, and maybe a bit more fun than the Triumph Bobber.
Damn the aluminum frame was growing on me but but it was odd wasnt it and I live in a semi arid enviorment so the frame doesnt rust out and so the strength is a benefit
The frame change ruined the new bike. It's a generic cruiser now. As desirable as a Kawasaki Vulcan with an Indian sticker on it. The 1st gen just became a classic.
I like all of the changes but I wish they would have increased fuel tank capacity. With my 2016 scout I had to start thinking about finding a gad station at about 100 miles, really need to stop by 125 miles, and you're out of gas at 150 miles. In many parts of the US on longer rides city to city, that is a limited range. I think just an increase of 1 gallon on the fuel tank would be great and still allow a sleak aesthetic design. It would also mean not having to think about finding gas station until 150 miles, stop at 175, dead at 200.
Amen! Just two or three more litres would have made it way more versatile. If you ride spirited (who doesn't?) then you are lucky to get anywhere close to 120 miles.
@yahoodlums yeah I was usually getting worried once I was over 125 miles and needed to find a gas station. There's many roads and highways in the south west where it's 200 miles in-between gas stations
As a previous Scout Bobber owner and having spending $2,000+ in upgrades the new 101 Scout fits perfectly for me. All the upgrades I had to do to my old one, plus new tech that I wanted to have on the previous. Seriously looking to purchase when available.
As a major Harley fan and owner I'm very impressed with Indian lately. The Springfield is absolutely beautiful and these are looking fantastic. Probably way more reliable than the revmax junk nobody really wants.... I almost hate to say it but if I ever get second bike it will be one of these probably.
Just happy seeing Indian making the right steps, inspiring new generations to ride this kind of bikes. While other big American companies are walking backwards
I’m not a fan of cruiser style motorcycles but I’ve always thought that the Scout Bobber in all back was very cool. Radiators are a bug bear of mine and until MotoBob pointed it out I hadn’t realised how massive the radiators were on the previous generation ! 🇬🇧
That is a LOT more goodies for practically the same money. I bought the Scout the first year it came out in 2015. I have about 70k miles so far. Never had any big problems. Love it. ❤
I just test drove this bike today. It has great torque and semi- comfy ride but it didn’t feel like a cruiser but more like a sport bike. I would recommend this for someone who still wants a sport bike with a cruiser type look. The semi comfy ride is because of the seating position. You’re leaning more forward which places stress on your lower back just as a street bike would. The Sport Scout Limited felt way better in my opinion and would be my choice in the new Scout lineup.
I like what they have done with the lineup. This is how you do a radiator! HD should take note for their Sportsters. I was surprised that the 101 was only a 5 HP bump to 111. The Sportster S puts out 121 HP, and 10 lb-ft more than the 101. Since the FTR has put out that level for years now, I expected the 101 to be there. Still awesome. I hope HD comes out with a new Roadster to compete with that FTR. Competition is great for us. 🤙🏼
I’m happy that Indian went out on a limb and offered so many different flavors of the Scout as part of this update. But none of the updates makes me regret buying a new ‘23 Scout Bobber at the end of last year. And while Indian decided to ditch the large radiator (which was the largest styling issue with the Scout since day one), I think it looks kind of weird without it. What’s replaced it, though? That God awful 2-1 exhaust. It’s worse than the one on the Harley Nightster, which I didn’t think was possible.
Thanks MotoBob. The way you clearly illustrated the new model features and benefits is far superior to Indian's own short attention span promo. The 101 is naturally getting all the attention, but I actually prefer the standard package Scout Classic. Firstly, I think the smaller radiator profile suits the retro style so much better than the previous Scout. And you get ABS, full LED lights thrown in, plus wire wheels - all of which would have added up to thousands of $$$ previously. And a fuel guage no less. New price sounds like a deal to me!
Thanks for this Fantastic video. Everything looks spot on on those new scouts except the chassis. I think the old aluminum frame looked way better and modern!
Well, butter my biscuits! An Indian Scout with USD forks AND dual disc front brakes?! It's not even my birthday but thanks, Rob. I find bikes with a solo front disc off putting for some reason. It's probably my OCD for needing things to be paired evenly. It's a great looking bike.
Nice review. HD is there for the taking, but you have to give these bikes more suspension travel, bigger tanks and better quality fit and finish to compete.
That 101 is just amazing, An actual competitor/alternative and could be potentially better than the Sport Chief and its cheaper too. Just wish it came in black. The 101 is defo gonna be the kinda end goal bike for me when i get a license, it was the Sport Chief.
Nice changes, looks sleeker n more modern. Wonder if lean angles are improved. Seating position still looks a little too forward on upper body. Wonder if they plan on releasing a bigger front fairing.
Just bought a '23 Chieftain Elite, so that puts me out of the market. Great looking line up, my wife might be interested in the classic though. She has outgrown her Vulcan S.
I’m wondering if the cheif 25 model will have some changes i own a scout and looking at cheif for an upgrade good job indian nailed it love the 101 WOW!!!!! Everything I wish my 19 scout bobber had and more tempted fed sure!!!
They made it look a lot more like the Chief, and less like a Victory Octane. Can't say I like the Chief style bobbed rear fender or the new seat options (anybody who's anybody changes the seat for a Corbin or Mustang anyway), but everything else looks awesome. ALSO. There is nothing wrong with the Scout Sixty. Nobody should feel like 65hp "isn't enough" on a 550lb bike! The Scout 101/Scout 69 are the sport cruisers. The Scout 60 is the actual mid cruiser version of the bike. Consider the fact that Shadow 750, Vstar 650, Vulcan 900, and Boulevard C50, only ever had 40-50hp, and they're still very popular bikes.
I'm really excited about what Ola Stenegard & Co. have done with the new Scout range. Which one gets me hot under the collar? Well in the previous range, although I loved the Bobber, the Rogue looked just as mean but was much easier to ride hard in the twisties thanks to slightly more ground clearance and that slim 19" front wheel. So in this new range, I'd go for the Sport Scout with the "Limited" tech package (I have a particular fondness for that analogue speedo and I'm happy to see it carried over to the new Scout - plus it has a fuel gauge, which is about time!). Anyway, time for me to give Indian Spain's Marketing Manager a call - I'm sure she's surprised I haven't left half a dozen voicemails yet - to sort out a bit of quality time with the Sport Scout (won't say no to the Scout 101 though!) and perhaps inquire what they'll be doing with their Rogue press fleet bike*. *Any "cruiser" that can catch an MT-09 napping through a left-hander (I was in a bit of a hurry, officer) is right up there on my list of bikes I want to own!
I like it. The engine on the last scout looked better imo, but they did a good job. I’ll prob buy one. I currently have a 2017 Scout, so I’ve been following and owning a scout almost since they came out from Polaris. Easiest engines to work on. Over the seven years of ownership I’ve done all the maintenance and added things like cruise control, new clutch, etc. Meaning It’s hard to justify the upgrade. A bit of advice: they made a large amount of improvements in the first 3 years on the scout introduction. It may be worth waiting to 2027 to buy.
As a long term owner of a scout sixty in the uk i will say i am pleased with the limited tech + package but i kinda hate the price jump when competing bikes have them as a standard. My bike is starting to show age as i ride all year so kinda in two minds on getting the upgrade. Would love the chance to buy the 101 limited tech + but at £16k it’s a steep price point. Hilariously my main excitement is the bloody fuel gauge at last hahaha.
the option for 3 different tech packages is neat, except that color options are gated behind tech packages, if you want the most basic level of tech you can only get it in black, which kinda stinks.
Smart move by Indian. Take a great looking/selling bike and improve it, but don't mess it up and change it too much. From a Harley owner this is a great looking bike and there is a reason why Indian owns this segment of the market.
First of all, thanks for the video. Your summary made more sense then indians long video. Old model costs 15k euro in Europe. New one will probably cost even more. Its really hard to justify a bike like that for a price like that (same goes for Harley). Or at least go for a basic Chief (can be found for around 18k). As for the new model. Hate the exhaust. Otherwise its very good looking. P.S Id buy one of Royal Enfield's 650 models and a Triumph Bobber for that price. That would give way more fun.
Oh my goddess ....... I *LOVE* the "101" - but I think I'm too old for it :o) ...... so the "Super Scout" would suit me better !! Either way .... WELL DONE, Indian !!!!!
Tbh I prefer the Old look, especially the Radiator, it looked more badass but also the engine covers... But the new tech is a nice upgrade, I was really confused that there was no LED Light configurable for the Rogue in the past
The new 101 is indeed a beautiful machine alright, however not being a fan of forward foot controls and especially so on higher-performance motorcycles meant for more sporting purposes (read: bikes meant to be ridden on twisting roads at higher speeds) I wish the foot controls on it had been placed more in the mid-position. This then would of course have meant the seat would have needed to be a few inches higher in order for the rider's knees not being uncomfortably bent, however in my case and with a 34 inch inseam, I've never cared about a bike having that low a seat height to begin with. And yes, I do understand that these bikes are considered "Power Crusiers", but still the idea that Indian doesn't seem to offer a variant of their new 101 Scout with more a "Standard" riding position seems a shame to me and thus lessens my interest in ever purchasing one. --Dwight in Arizona/owner of 2016 Indian Springfield, 2002 Triumph Bonneville, 1970 Triumph Bonneville
@DoctorMotorcycle bold statement when nobody have ridden the 101 Scout yet. Appearance wise I already prefer the looks of the Scout 101 but that's subjective. The only HD I've come closest to purchase was the Fatbob 114. Handling isn't something I personally associate with cruisers and the only reason I'd ever buy HD is just for the noise.
Same class and size engine as a sportster S but still down on power. The ghost of Victory Motorcycles is shaking its head right now. Better looking at least
I think Indian have done a great job with this first major update to the Scout lineup. I think the Super & Sport Scout may well take some sales away from the New Chief alternatives and the 101 looks awesome. Yes, it would've been nice to see a bigger furl tank, but amybe economy has improved, so who knows. It looks like a lot of attention has been paid to the ergonomics: forward controls as standard, better seats & bars. Anyine whi says the old Scout was too small has mimoly not looked at the specs side-by-side, and now there's even less in it. The new Speed Plus engine looks great and is clearly under-stressed for reliability & torque; I have no doubt that we'll see the tuners get over 130bhp out of that engine - for those who fool themsleves i to believing that a cruiser needs so much. Great video, Bob - many thanks 👍
Which bikes NEED that much power? Maybe giant touring models, but even then it's questionable. But power is fun! Cruisers can be powerful for just that reason.
Yea na I'm still gonna buy a HD Nightster Special with higher ground coverage and all the tech packages of limited scouts for a very decent price. It's vibration free and liquid cooled
The old looks far better than new one… The tank, the rear fender, the radiator are all better-looking. The new one looks more like a cheaper version…👍😊
Hell yeah!. Apparently Indian LISTENS to customer feedback and reads TH-cam posts. Finally, a midsized cruiser with all the best bells and whistles. Plus, you can choose and upgrade the echelons of kit. There you go, BMW, who refuses to put a fuel-gauge on many R models. There you go, Triumph, who refuses to put cruise-control on models. My next purchase, Indian.
Here for it, because MotoBob gives better model line-up intros better than any manufacturer can on their own.
This! I've had a scout in the past and found it a bit gutless, and it sounded crap standard. Hoping this version (especially the quickest one) has a bit more grunt!
I've a Roadmaster at the moment and might consider an FTR in the meantime before this comes out.
That 101 is looking mighty fine.
I'm really liking what Indian did with the Scout line.
This is the Nightster HD should have made. Nice looking bike. Another great vid by the Bobster!
🙏🍻
At last Indian gave a thought to the looks of those bikes. Very impressed
And a nice upgrade on tech matching ftr and chief wich is quite cool.

love that 101, It's like a thruxton rs of an Indian.
I'm kinda Triumph fanboy, but these Scouts are something that touches my heart.
Agree there's something similar - maybe the attention to detail and finishing items. Scout Bobber has always appealed to me, and maybe a bit more fun than the Triumph Bobber.
The steel frame is a great switch, love the customizability of this new one.
Damn the aluminum frame was growing on me but but it was odd wasnt it and I live in a semi arid enviorment so the frame doesnt rust out and so the strength is a benefit

‘101’ essentially an updated spiritual successor to the 110hp Victory Octane and that’s a good thing 💪 ❤

I am so not a cruiser boy but that 101 might sway me to the dark side! Especially in white
Ik that bike is so clean
Yes! This radiator looks so much better. That old radiator was quite horrendous imo
My biggest dislike of the current model. The way they thinned the radiator and hid it with the frame is a welcome enhancement.
That is a LOT more goodies for practically the same money. I bought the Scout the first year it came out in 2015. I have about 70k miles so far. Never had any big problems. Love it. ❤

The semi comfy ride is because of the seating position. You’re leaning more forward which places stress on your lower back just as a street bike would. The Sport Scout Limited felt way better in my opinion and would be my choice in the new Scout lineup.
All slow bikes for short/little people. The HD Lowrider ST still runs circles around them, and can lean harder from the factory.
The vestigial mirror mounts on the handle bars of the Scout 101 is a massive oversight. @1:34
I like what they have done with the lineup. This is how you do a radiator! HD should take note for their Sportsters. I was surprised that the 101 was only a 5 HP bump to 111. Nice to see them offer mid controls as an option now. For someone coming from a sport touring bike it makes for an easier and more natural transition.
Big flex as usual doing a video with your own personally hand painted Triumph fuel tank in the background! Love it.
These bikes look just amazing!
And thanks for summarizing the line-up in such an easily comprehensible manner! :)
The change of the 2 to 1 exhaust doesn’t look nearly as good. But otherwise they still look slick! 3” suspension…heh
The exhaust looks like a copy of the one on HD Nightster

That exhaust is coming off anyway.
was the exhaust change done earlier than these models 2025? I was curious why he didn't address the exhaust

Beats the HD Nightster by a country mile
Yes, new Sportster sucks
Yea na I'm still gonna buy a HD Nightster Special with higher ground coverage and all the tech packages of limited scouts for a very decent price. It's vibration free and liquid cooled
Super Scout in black
The 101 looks like a dehydrated Chief Sport
The old looks far better than new one… The tank, the rear fender, the radiator are all better-looking. The new one looks more like a cheaper version…👍😊
Indian is doing great, especially considering what harley has done to the sportster...
